Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 9:11am On Mar 07
FHMaryland:
Hi,

I am writing to enquire about the process for obtaining the US passport for Nigerians who have had a baby here recently.
I will be applying from Maryland and having looked at the state department website it seems like you can only get an appointment for the passport if within 14 days of travel but if the father of the baby will not be around by then the DS-3053 has to be notarized by the US consulate. Will it be better to use a passport agency company while the father is around? If so has anyone used a company they would advise me to use?
Thanks in advance

If you’re traveling within 14 days, then you can use the passport agency (Department of State) and get your passport same day. The closest location to you is in Washington DC, however, the father of your child must be available otherwise you’ll need a notarized DS-3053 from a notary public in the United States or from a US consulate abroad.

What you can also do is use an “online notary” which cost around $75.00 (Seventy Five Dollars). The father of your child will have to connect with the notary on a zoom call with his identification. It’s easy and flexible.

Shame on you.

It’s okay, but just get a life and get busy. The US can be a boring place especially for children like you who will never understand the stress and path different people take to citizenship.

I want to report immigration fraud. Last Easter, our family friend, married to a white woman, in Montgomery County, Maryland, brought over his Nigerian wife as his SISTER!!

When his American wife is in the basement gym he would take his Nigerian wife to the toilet and sleep with her there. Then he comes over to our house and BRAGS about it. They've stolen the white woman's Bronco, lying the car was totalled. I'm SICKENED.

What is his end game? I am here to vent. Should I go to immigration? The American lady is nice, saw him through culinary school, and bought him a restaurant. Will delete pictures soon!!!

I live in that county. MIND YOUR BUSINESS.

Just to let you know, most “domestic abuse” begin with men like you who forces women on themselves because of their influence or affluence.

And, You’re mistaken if you think she loves you and cheated by error or as payback. A woman can’t love you if she doesn’t respect you.

Finally, You’ll end up beating her to coma or slicing her with machetes since she doesn’t love you and will never stop cheating and you’ll never stop finding out.

My advice is in this message.

emmanuellex:
Hi guys. Please I need your advice.
About 3 years ago I found out she was in my friends house while she told me she was going back to her family after visiting me in my school.

I hacked into her WhatsApp messages due to my suspicions with how she often keeps her phone from me and I saw the chat between she and my friend telling him that she missed her period.

I love her so much and I decided to let go due to her statement about what she did was because I also cheated on her with a friend of hers. There was no evidence that I ever did such.

Everything was going fine until this year 2022 when I discovered she’s doing thesame with another guy.

Please I need your advice.

Programming / Re: What Are Those Steps To Becoming A Penetration Tester? by FrontPageLawyer(m): 6:58pm On Oct 10, 2021
Start with the CompTIA Sec+. This is the foundation to your cyber security career after which you can take the (CEH) training, a pathway of becoming an ethical hacker or a pen tester. Please don’t take the CEH training without going through the CompTIA Sec+ except you’re a genius.

The Sec+ will definitely introduce you to vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. The former is to identify weaknesses in your environment, while the later is to exploit the weaknesses in your environment.

If you’re passionate about it, I can forward you a Sec+ material for free, or you can go to www.udemy.com and check for some cheap trainings courses, however you’ll still need the hands-on and a virtual environment to practice the tools.

Next to follow is " Henry" and his cohorts. The tall and handsome officer turned serial criminal has no business in policing. His modus operandi is scaling through your perimeter fence at night to plant incriminating materials. He once stonned me with my ID card and tagged me a "yahoo boy". Hello House

I'm a bit confused at the moment
I paid the 64k visa fee last month to apply for a B1/B2 visa for a conference in Houston scheduled for September
However with the hurricane in that area I suspended the application
Now I intend applying with my kids(twin girls) for a disneyland christmas holiday in Florida
Can I use the payment slip for the 3 of us or do I pay another 64k visa fee?
And how do I go about with the DS-160 form for the 3 of us?

I tried filling the form but it seems it covers just one minor(not sure though)

LadyG, Seyewest, KaptainAfrica

Thanks in anticipation to your prompt response

Yes, you can always change your travel intent and it's fine if you've decided to travel with your kids to Orlando, Fla for the Christmas Holiday, however you should note that each applicant regardless of age will pay the same 64k even "a day old" child if they're allowed on a plane.

Also, each applicant will fill and submit their own DS-160 application form.

All the best.

Good Morning Guys,

Pls, my brother is officially divorced but filled "married" in the marital status of the DV160 form... and got the US Visa. Now, he is married to a US citizen traditionally. What will he do to effect the anomaly when he is being filled for, by his US citizen wife.
I understand there is a waiver he will apply for.

Kindly advise

Did your brother receive a Divorce Decree from the court and the Divorce Certificate from the state before he applied for the visa? A certified copy of the certificate issued by the state is the only proof that the couples are no longer married.

I say this because a marriage is not legally terminated until, the judge signs a judgment that contains the court order for the dissolution of marriage and sets out the terms of the divorce. The marriage terminates on the date the judge signs the judgment for dissolution of marriage. However, the divorce is not final until the court clerk enters the judgment into the court record and a decree is issued by the court that granted the divorce.

It's a common sense. He should check the dates on the Divorce Decree or Certificate if he has any.

If he was separated from his wife while waiting for the court judgment on his Divorce case, then the marriage was still valid as at when he apllied for the visa. If the marriage has been terminated with documents signed and issued by the court and state, then he misrepresent and could be thrown back to Nigeria by USCIS or have his case delayed for long once his U.S spouse petitions for him.

Tell him to contact an immigration lawyer for legal advice in the United States. He'll definitely need one because his ex-wife in Nigeria could even cause more damage if they were not properly divorced.

Everyone has a different American story, and a different path in life. Same way every state here have different laws and also different institutions have diffrent laws. I can tell you in Georgia to hook up Scana gas you must have SSN, Georgia Power will ask you to pay $150 as deposit if you have no SSN and a new customer. Yes you can rent some partments here by paying extra credit risk fee of about $250 max, but most okay apartments won't even speak with you if you don't have verifiable source of income, credit history, rental history etc. Some banks here ask for proof of address to open an account, proof of address means any bill or letter with the address on it( one expo: when i got here i quickly registered at the local library, that library card became my proof of address)

Yes many live well doing under the table jobs, when the money is sent home and converted its big, but what standard of living do they have here? i have many that share 1 bed apartment with someone else and they sleep on the couch at night, the apartment will be in a run down neigbourhood with sketchy neigbours. Also i know people who live in shared apartments or their personal apartment in good neigbourhoods and doing okay because they sleep less than 4 hours a day lol.

I am not one to tell people do not come, because i will be a hypocrite if i say that, as i got here on a visit visa and adjusted my status within the ambit of the law as permitted( USCIS jurisdiction, not nairaland judges o). It is just appropriate to educate people to do lots of research before embarking on such venture as there are no friends or relatives here, most will leave you in your darkest moments.

People emigrate for so many reasons not just for economic reason, so we can not know it all, we know what we know... but i do know this, there is no golden fleece here , but with hard work and proper funds managemnent you will live the American dream.

Bless up

@LadyG. Salutes to you ma'am.

Okay maybe I didn't define the terms, my mistake:
1. I am not referring to persons who have not overstayed his/her visa. For example, a tourist or a mother that came to give birth etc
2. I am taking the assumption that the person has overstayed his visa. For example, people who come on B1/B2 and stay back.
3. Outside of 'sanctuary cities', an illegal immigrant who is caught is subject to deportation by I.C.E for example, Texas etc.
4. All you said is true, for persons who are not illegal immigrants, or persons who make their way to 'sanctuary cities' where they are in direct contravention of US Immigration law as passed at the federal level. For example, San Francisco is a sanctuary city and protects illegal immigrants.
5. Considering the fact that the US keeps database, an illegal immigrant would be weary of using any services that requires background checks.

You're still VERY wrong. The documents required to open a bank account is your Primary, Secondary IDs and Address. Your visa is not checked. Even the Police has no business with immigration matters.

So many undocumented immigrants are better than the lazy U.S citizens because their primary goal is to work and make money. You can go about your business for 20years and nobody will question your immigration status. I'll stop here, go do your findings.

Think about this.
- you get to the US and overstay and do jobs - illegally, your employers know this and will take advantage of you, imagine doing some gay stuff just for your boss to not tell the I.C.E about you.
- everyday you wake up, not knowing if this is the day, you will be caught, your BP increases when you see a police car.
- you can't open a bank account, you can't save
- you can't contact your family back home
- DONALD TRUMP IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE US
- you can't come back to Nigeria for anything, once you leave the US, you can't come back
- Basically you are screwed
- Alternatively, you can just kill yourself, since Nigeria is not working and the prospects in the US is dim especially for a person like you, who wants to be an illegal immigrant.

Easy Tiger!! It's apparent you know nothing about the U.S or life in the U.S.

It's a public forum so I won't want to debate on this subject, but just to let you know;

With a non-immigrant visa, you can open bank accounts in all 50 states. You ONLY need two IDs; Primary ID ( International Passport), secondary ID (Drivers licence or ATM card) and $25.00 minimum deposit. Once the account is opened, you'll be given a temporary Debit Card valid for 30 Days, while the permanent Card is mailed to your address in about 3-5 working days.

Also, a handful of U.S. states issue drivers licence to undocumented immigrants who live there. Note that this does not confer any form of legal status; it merely says you are allowed to drive a car in that state.

With BOSS Revolution of $10. You can call anywhere in the world for more than 40 minutes. So what are you talking about?

Political ASYLUM that is a big red flag for that matter, yet both of you are married and you are still here, the husband who is supposed to be responsible to you flee and left you behind and you expect the VO not to see you as a potential Asylumee! If am permitted to use that word.

If I may ask, when did your husband obtain his naturalisation and when did you both get married? How come all the while you were married your husband did not file for you for residence at least for both of you to live as couples?, even oyinbo support husband and wife to live together as couples except they are separated then they live apart.

This your case get as e be, I will advise you get your residence in the country where your husband is and apply for the USA visa from there if you really want to visit usa.

I said we met abroad, that is after he had been living there for years. Not that we got married and then he traveled afterwards.

Proof of "family ties" is a determinant when visa officers are reaching for a decision. Before you reaply, ask yourself what are some of the reasons that would compel you as an applicant to return to your country.

It will be very difficult to prove your family ties to the VO reason is because, your husband lives many milesssssss away from you and how he Naturalized to another country through "Political Asylum" is a major concern to the visa officers.

I'm sorry, but only a "Father Christmas-like" VO can approve your application if your story/status remain the same.

Should i have lied about where my husband is based? I don't understand.

It's just a logical reasoning. The Consul asked to know how your husband acquired the citizenship or nationality of that country and you answered "political asylum"

"Political asylum is defined as the right to live in a foreign country, and is given by the government of that country to people who have to leave their own country because they are in danger of persecution"

OP didn't encourage you should lie, but with the definition I put up there and the Consul know full well that if a man (head of household) becomes a target, the wife is directly affected. You have a lot to explain in your next application and you must convince the next VO why you failed to abscond with your husband when the "bad people" were after his life.

@frontpagelawyer, my vacation on ds-160 is for 2weeks but I want to stay 3weeks. Will they check my ticket At POE and will I be questioned for staying xtra one week? I have heard different tales at POE. Pls advice. Thanks.

If your planned two weeks trip is extended by one week or more, that shouldn't give you nightmare. You should rather ensure your purpose of stay in the U.S is well established and clearly defined.

This is how it works. At POE, the CBP officer's collects your passport for visa check, takes your fingerprints and photograph for biometrics and identification process.

Your supporting documents e.g Return Ticket, Hotel Booking Confirmation and Invitation Letter are inconsequential to the officer at POE. In the event that the officer at POE cannot verify your information, you will be directly to “secondary inspection" without causing delay to other arriving passengers. Secondary inspection allows team of officers to conduct additional research in order to verify your information. There; your Return Ticket, Hotel Booking Confirmation, Invitation Letter e.t.c becomes very consequential for verification process.

Hey guys, please can I get some advice; I am attending a 5 days conference but staying 16 days as indicated on my ds-160 form because I intend to explore the tourist attractions of Orlando a little since this will be during my 30days work holiday. Infact, I had to book my return date a day after a music concert by marc Anthony which I plan to attend. Someone say to me I should be straight so conference of 5 days at list not more than 8 days and that the VO like to be straight conference can't be use as tourist visa. Secondly, the VO base their decissions strongly on ties which I could prove both with property documents, job security and family as I have a daughter and currently engaged but I understand they don't give enough time to show documents or explain so should I mention my daughter when ask if married? Finally, this conference is in November but my interview is towards the end of July. Though, it had to be so as I need to pay for early birds on this conference which is $1,800 for full passport cos its a professional conference with strong benefits to my career. Thanks in advance

You can stay for 16 days if you can afford it.

You don't have to pay the $1,800 except it's refundable. Go to the interview and explain the situation.

Consul : Have you made payment for the conference?

You: NO, payment will be made today once my visa is approved.

The consul usually advise applicants against making upfront payment for tickets, medical bill, conference e.t.c. except they have a visa.

Go through the thread thoroughly, you'll overcome your fears.

The GCI staffs at the embassy/consulate might not allow you inside the interview hall without uploading your passport photograph on your application form.

I'll advise you start another application and do the right thing. Once done, you'll need to contact GCI to update your DS-160 Application number through the "feedback" option once signed in to "ustraveldocs". You can only do this if time allows you because update takes about 48 hours.

Your Application form and Appointment Confirmation must carry the same DS-160 Application number e.g AA00XXXXXX otherwise you won't be allowed in for your interview.
