How can a team start wasting time at 70 minutes against a team with no wins in 9 games

Since the move of arsenal to the Emirates, it's been one project or the other. Last season, Arteta was all in for experience.
Luiz, William, Aubameyang, Laca, Xhaka, Leno, Cedric etc and they all let him down. This season he is going for youth and still putting the main jobs in the hands of these "experienced" players who ain't delivering.

Maybe the whole Arsenal board are blind or don't watch football games is still a mystery to think the team is going forward. Even when arsenal win games, it's usually because of pacthes of brilliance not a dominant win. Here are some of the DNA problems with Arsenal.

1. The academy is producing light-weight players. Look at the recent academy graduates - Saka, Smith-Rowe, Eddie, Balogun etc are too light weight compared to Recce James or Trent or Tammy Abraham. Technically they are good but pyshically too week which makes the team being bullied.

2. Failure to play to Pepe's strength. Just like Salah, Arteta should know the gem he has on his ands but yet he feels his idea supersedes his needs to play to players strength

3. Arsenal are too relaxed

4. Arteta talks like he as won 20 champions league and performs like a league two manager.

Keyboard activists condemning the government and failing to rationalize their thoughts!

1. Minister for state education never gave official statement on when WAEC SSCE was starting; he mentioned it in a meeting though as he is part of COVID19 committee and they had plans to help graduating students graduate and it filtered out

2. WAEC is greedy and bent on money making; GCE form is out and yet WAEC has not been written! They claimed in their statement they had meeting with Nigeria which obviously they did not!

3. After WAEC, what becomes of the students? They go back home so which is better? Allow them resume like a month before the exams then prepare properly or just resume to write the exam for the purpose of writing sake! I’m sure no tertiary institution will take in new students this academic year again; so it’s not for the purpose of higher learning we want to rush the exam

4. WAEC did not release a timetable

We know coronavirus might be around for a long time; but at least let’s thread with caution!

Academically, this year is gone! It’s better we plan for how to live with the virus and not rush to do things all in the name of doing things!!!!

Nigeria’s problems are not the illiterates; they are the half educated! People who actually went to school and graduated but never seem to apply the knowledge!

1. School resumes for what reason in this global pandemic? WAEC is West African based so we can’t write SSCE even if school resumes; Economic reasons? When inter state travels are relatively still locked; JSS3 Exams? How many of you collected yours to further your education

2. If coronavirus is false; let them resume schools and see the outcome; Israel had to shutdown schools back; so let’s learn from Oyo

3. School and education; very important but after this lockdown, economic reforms should be top priority not opening schools

Ignorance will not kill some supposed learned ones; books have been written on this theme, in fact I heard there is queen James version of the Bible for the same sex marriage ambassadors (all written by Christians); so why Apostle Sulaimon and this man thinks theres a reason to drag Islam into it is far from logical!

Stop inciting hatred with your views; If you don’t like it, don’t watch it! It’s not as if it’s free; Porn are paid to be watched and no one forces anyone and no one says only Muslims or Christians produce them!

In England, the VAR seem to be different from the ones we see across other leagues; Last week Saka got booked for diving, he had a legitimate claim and it was never reviewed, Socratis was tugged and it wasn’t reviewed and yet this week Arsenal has a penalty review from a dive situation overturned; it’s annoying how referees want to badly give penalties agains Arsenal!

Despite the level of our claimed education and exposure; its a shame most Nigerians still do not think well before delving into political issues!

We really want to go to Atiku for restructuring

We really want to base your trust on someone who helped APC into power after spending 16 years with PDP in power?

We are still making same mistake we made with Jonathan if we keep thinking in PDP direction;

We might be tired of Buhari not APC but Atiku is not a good option!

OYSG GIVES TAJU A NEW LIFE

The wife of Oyo State Governor Dr Florence Ajimobi today, met with the little boy, Tajudeen Ibrahim Agbabiaka, that trended on social media some days ago.

It can be recalled that Taju was recorded in an instagram video, where he was asked questions in English language and could not respond because he could not converse in the language.

The Oyo state government has taken responsibility and custody of the child through the child welfare unit of the state government.

Dr Ajimobi reiterated her commitment to improving the quality of life of children and urged the young parents not to be irresponsible to the role of training their children but care for the children with the required nourishment and basics of life.

In the meantime, case work intervention is on going on the issue so as to bring it to a logical conclusion.

The state government has reiterated its commitment to reducing the vulnerability of children and the under privileged in the state.

Irate youths on Thursday burnt down a Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) patrol vehicle at Uya-Oro junction in Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

The angry youths staged the protest when some NCS personnel attempted to clamp down on a vehicle allegedly carrying five bags of imported rice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that while the NCS vehicle was chasing a car with the contraband (rice), the car ran into commercial cyclists carrying three passengers.

A witness, who pleaded anonymity, said one of the three passengers died, living others injured.

He said the accident happened at about 3 p.m.

The angry youths later went berserk after a failed attempt of the customs personnel to arrest the car carrying the five bags of alleged imported rice.

Reacting to the issue, the Akwa Ibom Police Public Relations Officer, DSP MacDon Achebe, confirmed the incident.

He said that a customs vehicle tried to stop a car carrying contraband and the driver refused to stop.

“The customs personnel shot at the car and in an attempt to escape, it ran into a commercial cyclist,” Achebe said.

Dolapo Badmus, a zonal police public relations officer (PRO) on Thursday, May 31, in an open letter to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) urged the security agency to refrain from the unlawful arrest of young Nigerian men on the ground that they are fraudsters popularly (known as "Yahoo yahoo boys"

A 200 level Computer Science student of Caleb University and another suspected member of his gang were busted after their botched attempt to snatch a car from an Uber driver in Ikorodu area of Lagos .

One of the suspects was discovered to be son of a serving Local Government Chairman in Lagos .

The suspects: Gideon Bamidele (19) and Hafeez Anifowose, (20) as gathered, boarded the Uber cab, a Toyota Corolla car with plate number KJA 911 EG, at the early hours of Monday , in Surulere, heading towards Agric, Ikorodu.

However, on reaching Itowolo bridge , one of the suspects according to the UBER driver, Mr Otun Olugbenga, “

grabbed me by the neck pointing a gun at me. He ordered me to leave the steering. When I refused, they started struggling the steering with me . I started shouting for help, on sighting a police vehicle stationed afar , on the other side of the road. In the process, the vehicle skidded off the road and somersaulted severally before it stopped .At that point, I lost consciously briefly.”

Meanwhile, policemen at the nearby pin-down-point who raced to the scene with the intention to rescue occupants of the vehicle, became curious after Bamidele and Anifowose who crawled out of the vehicle were spotted with a gun. They ( suspects ) reportedly took to their heels on sighting the policemen approaching. While some of the policemen gave the fleeing suspects a hot pursuit, the rest rescued the driver.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal who confirmed the arrest, disclosed that when the suspects were caught, they were discovered to be with a toy gun.

Speaking to reporters,Bamidele blamed his indulgence on what he described as his parents uncaring attitude. He said :

“ I blame my father for this. He abandoned me and refused to pay my school fees, not because he didn’t have the money but because he said I was wayward. Immediately my mum traveled to the UK, my dad said he was no longer interested in my schooling, just because he caught me smoking one day and concluded that he would no longer waste his money on me anymore. He is the Chairman of a local government and can not deny he does not have money . Our aim was to snatch the vehicle and sell it. I intended to use my share of the loot to settle my school fees. Take my father’s telephone number , call him to come and see me in the situation he has put me”, he said in tears.

The suspects according to Edgal would be charged to court, even as he explained that being caught with a toy gun would not douse the charges , saying they would be charged same way an armed robbery suspect with a real gun would.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has indicated that a total number of 15,000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are to participate in the July 14 Ekiti State governorship election.

The National Commissioner of INEC, Prince Adedeji Soyebi, disclosed this on Monday while featuring on Ekiti State Television (EKTV) programme, Daybreak Nigeria.

Soyebi said:

“the deployment of 15,000 corps members is one of the measures put in place y INEC to ensure fairness to all parties and the credibility of the exercise.”

He also stressed that the electoral agency was collaborating with security agencies to ensure safety of officials, voters and electoral materials to be used for the poll.

The INEC chief assured political parties and voters that the electoral umpire would be fair to all parties and would deliver an election in line with global best electoral practices.

He urged political parties taking part in the poll to submit the list of their agents in line with the time allowed by law.

According to him, any party that fails to submit the names of its agents on time would lose the privilege of being represented at the poll.

On possibility of electronic voting in Nigeria, Soyebi said, ”We are not definitely going to have it 2019 but we will get there very soon.”

Agege, one of the 20 councils in Lagos, is presently under scrutiny over a curious levy.

According to the photo of a letter circulating on social media, the council imposes a N10,500 fine on anyone who organises a party in the council without paying a “merriment levy” to the council’s purse.

In the letter, any defaulter who fails to pay the fine is threatened with a court case.

The Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States presided over by Justice Wilkins Wright, has ordered the Federal Government to pay a domestic violence victim, Mary Sunday, the sum of N50m as compensation for her pains.

While handing down the judgment in Abuja, the regional court said that the government failed to investigate the matter when it happened and also provide the lady access to justice as guaranteed under the law.



The Court however, found Nigeria not to be in violation of her right to freedom from discrimination and gender-based violence.

The case was filed before the ECOWAS Court in August 2015 by the Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre and the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa on behalf of Sunday.

It would be recalled that the woman had a heated argument with her fiancé, Isaac Gbanwuan, a policeman, in 2012 where she was brutally beaten and poured a boiling pot of stew by him.

Sunday suffered extreme burns, lost her ears, has not been able work or walk freely on the streets as a result of the attack.

Following the verdict, Mary, who could not hold back her emotions, said,

“I have suffered so much pain since the incident happened, and never knew I would obtain justice someday.”

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has identified the 15 greatest threats to democracy in Nigeria.



Sani, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, made this known in a Facebook message on Friday afternoon.

The senator, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign and Local Debts, identified mass killings across the nation as the biggest threat.
