The Obi should have abdicated if he had true love for that woman, by the way, how come the Obi went to Madonna University, that place is a glorified secondary school.

ndu_chucks: How I wish this good man, GEJ, would muster the courage to win people like me over, by surprising us with a cabinet shakeup where the Aviation minister and a few others are removed with immediate effect. Both his supporters and enemies will rejoice. We all know which ministers need to go.

The head is corrupt as well, it is garbage in garbage out, we have focused so much on the reps and senators, the rot in the executive arm, federal and state, is mind boggling, the only thing the reps get is their allowances and maybe bank loans, the executive execute the budget, FG is about 4 trillion naira, the states combined will be more than that.
Politics / Re: The Minister Of Aviation Messed Up But... by hercules07: 7:46pm On Oct 17, 2013
ndu_chucks: I agree with Sincere_9gerian that the minister performed well in some aspects of her job and she deserves credit for that.

On the other hand, I, along with other people who are not shameless enough to sweep Madam minister's crimes under the carpet, demand that she takes the high road and resign. She should be grateful enough to save GEJ additional embarrassment.

People who commit crimes such as this deserve to be either stoned or publicly lynched right along with their apologists.

Please what has she done that she is getting this praise, plastered the airports? Abeg, the woman has done nothing to warrant any praise, you want to talk of performers, look at Akunyili at NAFDAC (not the politician), look at Oby, someone who was spending your money to give you low quality renovations is the one you are praising.

Politics / Re: What You Don't Know About Nigeria's Space Program by hercules07: 12:40pm On Oct 15, 2013
aletheia:

Your serial posting of news articles only prove two things.
1. You are very ignorant about the capability of Nigerian doctors working in Nigeria and
2. Nigerians like to travel abroad for treatment at the drop of a hat especially when someone else is footing the bill. It does not address my claim that most of what they are traveling abroad for can be done in Nigeria.

Danbaba Suntai that travelled abroad came back fully fit? Right? The guy suffered a severe head injury. There are competent neurosurgeons working here in Nigeria that could have treated him with exactly the same outcomes as that obtained from his 10 month sojourn in the USA. In one of my earlier posts, did I not remind you of Idris Wada of Kogi, another governor involved in an accident, who was treated fully in Nigeria, despite urgings by his fellow politicians including even the president that he travel abroad for treatment. But of course you will develop selective amnesia to that fact since it does not suit your narrative.

Trying to use the state of Nigeria's health sector as an excuse for not developing an indigenous space program is an epic fail. You presume to comment on the state of Nigeria's health sector but you actually have no idea what the real problems are. Here is a hint: the problem with Nigeria's health sector is not an inability to do medical exams or perform transplants or carry out routine surgeries like appendectomies (which is what the governors travel abroad to do).

Even the Multinational company Shell extensively makes use of Nigerian doctors working in Nigerian Hospitals.

I read where you said Nigerian scientists designed and built a satellite, abeg forget that one o, they were just onlookers at the British company, as far as i am concerned, the space program is a waste of time and money with the way it has been conceived, we are just dashing money to all those foreign companies.
The first thing the government is meant to do is overhaul the educational sector, unfortunately, the government can not even keep to its agreement with ASUU. I had the pleasure of observing the workers of the NARSDA at Lugbe for about a week, they are as lazy as anything, waiting for the DG to leave by 4pm before they all dash out of the complex.
A proper space program begins at the primary level, with a target of say 16 years to raise the scientists and engineers that will build and maintain it, by the way, what standard rocket have we designed, do we have any wind tunnels?

What do u mean by dual fired nature? All the FG plants above are combine circle gas turbine dat means u reuse the heat from one stage to drive another stage, that means more power and more capital cost but its still less dan lagos generators

Lagos uses both diesel and gas to fire their plant, does the bauchi one use the same method? ?

Bauchi state. : 230M/MW
Agip okpai. : 150M/MW
FG Olorunsogo-I. : 93M/MW( 70KM where u aleady have gas pipelines.

Please factor in dual fired nature of Lagos plant.
Politics / Re: Gov. Fashola Spends N400 Million Per 1MW Of Electricity. by hercules07: 2:08pm On Oct 12, 2013
I believe this plant is both gas and diesel fired, will that not cause the cost to be high, we know hybrid cars are usually more expensive than normal ones, also, dies the cost include transmission and distribution. I think there should be a website where these costs can be computed.

Sam xiu lee: I don't have a problem with the power plant, what I have a problem with is the cost,3billion for 10mv?its a disgrace and disgusting,we need to know the details of the contract, its ridiculous,
As a Lagosian and an admiral of BRF,pls I need to ask question on this project, pls EFCC /ICPC kindly find out how much it cost to provide this kind of project elsewhere.

Not defending the LASG as per cost(we should always ask questions like these), but, being dual fired might have a role to play in the cost, also, being IPP, do people not think that OANDO will add their own on top?

Afam4eva:
Impeachment can come if the president has violated the laid down rules as stipulated in the constitution or has performed below par and the aviation ministry is under his purview. So, if you blame the Aviation minister, why not the president? Why Odua and not the NCAA boss? The NCAA was created for a particular purpose which makes it not directly under the Aviation ministry.

Read my posts very well, the NCAA, NAMA and other ogas should also be sacked along with the minister, even the Permanent secretary should go as well, for goodness sake, a provincial health minister here is under fire for allowing an old woman to be discharged at 2:30am from the hospital. The president can not be impeached for below par performance, the reasons for impeachment are clear, stop digging holes.

Politics / Re: Senators Call For Resignation Of Stella Oduah by hercules07: 12:01pm On Oct 10, 2013
Afam4eva:
Do you agree that the President should be impeached too since he's at the Aviation minister's boss and since the Aviation minister is the NCAA chairman's boss.

You are now being ridiculous, impeachment is a legal process and the offenses are laid down in the law of the land, if plane crashes is one of the listed offenses, then the President should face the music. The Ministers are appointed by the president, he can hire and fire them, one of the reasons for firing people is incompetence, incompetence can be through direct actions or indirectly.

Afam4eva: This is what you get when you allow people beclouded by party sentiments to speak on national issues. How can you call for the resignation of the Aviation minister because of crashed planes when the NCAA should be held responsible. If Oduah is sacked, will Jonathan also impeached or resign? Why hasn't anyone called for the sack of the minister of Transport because the number of people who have died from road induced accodents in this decade alone can fill up the national stadium in Sululere. Why hasn't the minister of Defence been sacked due to the scores of people that have met their untimely death because of the wicked attacks by the bokoharam sect. What we should calling for is for Oduah to sack whoever is in charge of NCAA and not us calling for her sack cos she's the best Aviation minister that we've had for a long time. The Aviation minister was an utter disgrace when Fani Kayode and Aborishade manned it. SO, i find it rather hypocritical that someone like Kayode has the effrontery to advertise his quantum hypocrisy to the world. These are people that are supposed to be spending the rest of their lives in Panti for embezzling finds meant for the aviation industry.

Buck stops at the table of the minister, the call for her sack is the correct one, of course, she can also be sacked along with the NCAA guys or a new minister can sack the NCAA man. The problem with a lot of people supporting her is because she is from their tribe, the NCAA man is from my tribe and I believe he should be sacked, anybody and everybody responsible for the failures should be sacked. Do you know how many CEOs got fired because of ordinary cable ducts during the manufacture of the A380?

#Bloody Pharisees!

The first person that should be sacked is the Minister, a new minister once appointed will now come in and sack all those under performing staff be it NCAA, FAAN or whatever, if he or she can not sack them, she can lean on the Presidency to move the incompetent people out of her ministry, that is the proper way to do things. The woman is obviously incompetent and favors cosmetic changes to the real hard work of sanitizing the sector. I read here on NL that she says she can not affect any change, if she truly said that, she should honorably resign her appointment.

If cars are assembled in Nigeria; there will be facilities to purchase new cars.........................

Where will the facilities come from, heaven? The banks are not going to loan anybody money to buy cars, do you think they are silly? Banks are even reluctant to loan money to business people, it is is a car that does not bring in money they will now concentrate on. We needed to sanitise the spare parts market (manufacture spares under license from OEMs) and educate the mechanics who work on our cars, if we can fix that area, we keep local jobs while adding quality to the used cars imported into the country, our leaders keep making policies that will benefit a few and not the majority.

I dont need it. I have a much better mastery of civic study and public administration than you do. If you doubt me answer my last question on whether Iboland and Hausaland are same country. This is the foolery that has continued to plague you guys since the 50s, beginning with Zik, and it hasnt ceased.

Iboland and Hausaland is not the same country, they are colocated in a geographical space named Nigeria. Each land had its own autonomy and self governance, in other words you have real and concrete countries within an artificial and political boundaries. You fools jumped the gun and started calling Hausaland your country.

You provoked Sardauna to talk about you like that. Uptill today you are yet to differentiate between a country and a administrative region and your politics suffer continously due to this lack of knowledge.

If anyone need civic lessons it will be you. Nigeria is not a land, it doesnt have culture, it has no customs, it has no ancestry, no cults or rituals, and yet you grip onto it as your political savior.

I shake my head.. cheesy

Ahmadu Bello was wrong to put expatriates before Nigerians, he could have given them short term contracts until Northerners could take over their functions.
Politics / Re: Fani-Kayode Refers To Stella Oduah As A Vampire On Twitter by hercules07: 10:41am On Oct 09, 2013
PapaBrowne: A man who was minister of Aviation for a year and left us nothing to remember but a N19bn fraud has the mouth to attack a woman who in just two years has heralded the transformation of the Nigerian Aviation sector with the re modelling of 22 airports and the building of 5 brand new terminals.

Men who go around looking for women to fight all the time are usually tended towards homosexualism. Femi Fani Kayode should check his status and protect his children form the eventual embarrasment that would befall when it's finally discovered he is gay.

How many air crashes during her tenure now? The cosmetic re modeling that still makes the airports look like cow sheds. FFK was a failure as a minister, Stella Oduah is no better.

mikeansy: You can not control migration within a Sovereign Nation. This is against all human right and international laws. I am pretty sure Igbos will gladly be willing to be subjected to visa control in lagos or Kano if Nigeria were to split. However while this country remains ONE and our constitution guarantees the rights of all Nigerians to live anywhere and pursue their dreams then we have no choice. Ndigbo will continue to have the right to live in Lagos or Kano and no amount of xenophobia should change this fact.

It worries me that in 2013 Nigeria some people want to either justify or explain this hate speech by Ahmadu Bello, very troubling. These kind of people are the very reason why our country is a mess and they should never be celebrated.

Your leaders do not help matters by some of their utterances, the Chinua Achebe book and the no man's land of Orji Uzor Kalu comes to mind. Nigerians have the right to live and aspire to higher dreams everywhere in the country, but, we also need to know and respect the local customs of wherever we find ourselves.

From these posts, it's crystal clear that majority of the people are no longer shocked & awed by the propaganda being released from Alausa and Bourdillon and elsewhere. There's a limit to how far you can lead people by the nose.

Most of these grandiose projects smack of elitism and it's disturbing that they often do not reflect the dire needs of the man or woman living in Oko Oba and who have no business going to the island (where it seems a certain potentate has dictated his own share of the largess).

The irony of it all is that people like agbameta and his cohorts know the truth and their rabid retorts are symptomatic of the hatred with which they just have to carry out their distasteful assignments.

They're to be pitied more than derided as they are the classic 'useful idiots'!

What is elitist about a cable car system, the man living in oko oba does not go to the island for trading abi? So, of all the traffic on third mainland bridge, none is from Oko Oba, please find something more intelligent to say when criticizing initiatives as this.
