catoluy: FACT When igbos see see something commendable, they give compliments then work hard to meet up. But when some others ( no name mentioned) see something good from igbos, instead of copying it like igbos, they instead try to frustrate or stop it. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Biafra of course. Is water wet? Is salt salty? To hell with presidency. If you doubt me, go and visit the home towns of all the people that have ruled Nigeria let’s compare it to Igboland. Mind you an igbo president will be held hostage by Northerners in the senate and house of reps aided by fake quota system population numbers which gave them permanent majority. Look at what happened to Jonathan’s PIB bill that sat there for years without vote or implementation. Only a foolish person will choose presidency over freedom. 51 Likes 4 Shares |

Abagworo: But this is where the major issue comes in. When you ask them what exactly makes them distinct from the rest, none of them can explain. And when they attempt, it’s usually based on pseudo-history and outright lies that crumbles immediately once you examine it. People just want to feel special. It’s because of the Nigerian environment that all those fake identity nonsense is tolerated. 1 Like |

BeachLife: Igbos value HUMAN Life, Education, competition, hard work, monogamy, meritocracy, level playing field, extreme need to catch up to the rest of the developed world in the 21st century, autonomy, wealth accumulation, and shared hatred for poverty. There are so many things about igbos I can break down for you but it’s will be very time consuming to write and too long to read. But what I said above is just to name a few. I can’t with all honesty say that I see the same traits in the other two groups. I am not saying that individuals within those groups don’t have it but as a group, it’s a different story. 12 Likes 1 Share |

BeachLife: There is constant argument within HUMAN groups that are similar even in communist China where 90% of the population identify as Han, they still argue online about their regions. This is just human nature BUT do you know the BIGGEST difference between us and Nations that work well? VALUES!!!! They share similar values. In Nigeria, the three major ethnic groups have fundamentally very Different Value systems. 18 Likes 1 Share |

I saw what happened in your thread. Lol Maybe you will start understanding why this country is not making progress. It wasn’t built on a solid foundation. If you refuse to acknowledge that fundamental flaw with Nigeria, then you will continue building castles in the sky. Those who advocate for the break up of Nigeria are not this EVIL MONSTERS that are portrayed on Niaraland. They are very rational and intelligent people who have had very deep thoughts about Nigeria and realize that it will never work. Slowly you are coming to terms with it. The most anti Nigerians of today used to fight for and defend Nigeria a lot in the past. Including Nnamdi Kanu. I was once hopeful for Nigeria just like you but I have finally come to terms with the reality of the country. The difference between you and I is time and experience. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

Thanks to Akuluouno initiative, igbo land is on the rise. Anambra has Awka Millennium city, and Garden of Eden City Abia state has Enyimba Economic City Enugu has The Centenary city and HELIU Ebonyi has the rapid mordernization of Abakaliki City which is spurring massive real Estate investment because of new infrastructures Imo state has New Owerri and there is also a New City planned to be launched by the new government. Good Job Ndigbo. You are beginning to learn that you cannot abandon your home to go and develop another mans land 95 Likes 6 Shares |

This city is the first phase of the Awka city Master plan. More cities will be built through public-private partnerships that will cover the surrounding undeveloped lands. 12 Likes

Igbos need to have their own separate diaspora fund. Simple Then use the money to match all the needed infrastructures denied to Igboland. 3 Likes |

topboss1: The madness will never end. This is what happens when igbo denialism is taken too far. Anioma people need to have a serious emergency meeting and settle this once and for all because they will dig themselves into a far much deeper hole than the anticipated. 1 Like |

XANDERBOY85: Good. It’s always good to look back at that map I believe in 1929 before all the denials of the 1970s started. It was created by the white men from their own interactions from different sections of Igboland. They are not stupid. 3 Likes |

BeachLife: Now to address the rest of your point, the problem I have realized is that Nigerians are very scared of change. They prefer the current status over the unknown. What you wrote sounds very good on paper but trying to accomplish it will make you lots of enemies and may even threaten your very existence. Nigerians don’t like change. They may cry all day but the moment you try to make a change, you become enemy number 1. The current system will have to crumble under its own weight first before any meaningful change can be implemented. It’s heading in that direction and the only thing we can do realistically is to wait. |

BeachLife: This is coming from you an Akwacross indigenes that is not fluent in igbo language. Now imagine how the rest of us that can actually speak and understand igbo feel when we hear these our igbo brothers (some of them) in the south south region boldly denying being igbo. I feel ashamed on their behalf. You cannot fool other minorities in the south south by pretending that you are not igbos. They are not stupid. They will play along with you if it serves their interests but they will call you out when it doesn’t. Eg: when Edwin Clark went against Peter Odili from being Vice President candidate for yar adua. 3 Likes |

BeachLife: Beachlife, you are a newbie here. We have been dealing with non-igbo trolls with multiple accounts starting fake fights to disrupt this thread and so many other igbos related discussion threads. In the past, we used to confront them but when we found out that they had the full blessing of the moderators on this forum, we decided to start ignoring the fights. To an outsider like you, you will think it’s igbos fighting each other but it is not. The only people that are deceived and engage the trolls are new people that just sign on to Nairaland. 5 Likes |

mr11: This is just the plain truth. I know some emotions are flying around here. But if Aniomas get their own state and have a better control of their politics and economy, the need to deny igbo or the incentive to deny igbo will be mostly killed off. 4 Likes |

mr11: This is why I believe Anioma people need their own state. I still believe that it should be the next state to join the south east but some people think it’s a bad idea because of the on going identity crisis. I personally believe that if Aniomas get their own state, then they can have a safe space that will enable them progress Faster and a conducive environment to solve the identity issues. |

mr11: Thanks I suspected as much. Same strategy is happening with igbos in rivers state although most of those rivers igbos took it too far and really really hate South East igbos identifying with them. Yes it’s a political strategy and it is working out for you But it’s also has a strong Disuniting effect. Me personally, when I see someone that is igbo and with igbo name, I get excited and try to know them. It will be very soul crushing if that person says loudly and proudly to me, “ I am not igbo”. Some igbos have experienced this in their lives and it’s hard memory to forget. Just know that the future generations of igbos may not be as forgiving as the current one towards people who display igbo denialism. This has to stop sooner than later before the consequences become irreversible. 4 Likes |

mr11: Anioma (the beautiful land) is igbo and will remain so till eternity. I will not let those suffering from identity crisis change how I see my Anioma brethren. BUT For people like you that are confident and proud of your origins, you and other reasonable folks from Anioma areas need to challenge those pushing anti-igbo sentiments and suffering from igbo denialism and severe identity crisis. The man who carried out the coup that led to the suffering of igbos today in Nigeria is an Anioma son and most importantly he is Igbo and we fully embraced him and shed our blood for our brother. To later find out that some people from the same village that he is from among other clans in Anioma denies anything to do with the rest of Ndigbo, feels like a big betrayal to other igbos especially those from the south east. 3 Likes |
