Politics / Re: Germany Is Returning Over 1,000 Human Skulls They Stole From Africa! by IBEXY(m): 9:23am On Feb 05, 2023
I guess the problem here is why these white invaders always go after human skulls (the head)? Right now they are doing the same in Egypt. Excavating and stealing body parts of dead Pharaohs. Is is something to do with the fact that the head is the seat of the spirit?
Politics / Germany Is Returning Over 1,000 Human Skulls They Stole From Africa! by IBEXY(m): 8:52am On Feb 05, 2023

Germany’s Museum Authority recently announced that it was ready to return hundreds of human skulls from the former colony of German East Africa. Scientists examined 1,135 skulls at Berlins Museum of Prehistory and Early History, and found that 904 of them were from Rwanda, 202 from Tanzania, and 22 from Kenya. Seven skulls remain unattributed. In recent years, Germany has been sending back skulls, other human remains, and artifacts, even offering Namibia a reparation, which they rejected.

Berlin has recognized for the first time that between 1904 and 1908, German forces committed genocide against the Herrero and Nama people in the former colony. Opposition lawmakers say that the sum offered isn't enough and continue to call for explicit reparations. Germany has promised to begin returning the artifacts known as the Benin bronzes to Nigeria next year, making it the latest move in Germany's efforts to return African artifacts to their countries of origin.

These efforts to return artifacts, human remains, and offer reparations to former colonies in East Africa are part of Germanys attempt to make amends for its past wrongdoings. However, some believe that the reparations offered are not enough and continue to call for more explicit reparations. Germany's actions are an important step towards acknowledging its past and providing recognition to the people and countries affected by its actions.

Education / Nekede Poly Student Brags About How Her "Private Parts" Helped Her Graduate by IBEXY(m): 11:12am On Feb 02, 2023

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, Nigeria has launched an investigation into the identity of a female graduate who boasted about her graduation on TikTok. The graduate, who recently wrote her last examination and concluded her project defence, posted a video on the social media platform, claiming that she was able to successfully complete her studies due to the help of God and her “private parts”.

The issue of lecturers having sexual relations with students in exchange for grades is not a new topic in Nigerian institutions of higher learning. There has been allegations and confessions many times. BUT the lady in a recently viral video took it up a notch when she went on TiTok and bragged about how her private parts helped her graduate.

The video, which was shared by @rawnigeria, has sparked outrage from the Alumni of the institution and the public. Hon. Columbus Akalonu, an Alumnus of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede and former Supervisory Councillor of Youth, Sports and Social Welfare in Imo State, has called on the school’s Rector, Dr. M.C. Arimanwa, to sanction the female graduate by withdrawing her certificate or giving her extra year for defaming the reputable institution.

In response, the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Eucharia Anuna, has confirmed the decision to probe the lady, who said on TikTok:

“Omo today is the final day. Men, Nekede bye. This Nekede stress ends today. I am now a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede. It can only be God o and my p…y o.”

Anuna has described the action of the student as “most unacceptable and preposterous”, as the institution prides itself as an institution with high academic and moral standards.

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede has released hotlines through which students can report any act of exploitation or corruption. The institution has also made it clear that it will not condone any act of misconduct or “anti-social behaviour”, and that any staff or student found culpable will be meted with appropriate punishment.

The story of this female graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede has sparked a conversation about the importance of upholding high academic and moral standards in Nigerian educational institutions. It is essential for students to remember that their actions, whether online or offline, can have serious consequences and that they should always conduct themselves in a manner that is befitting of their institution.

Crime / Over 20 African Migrants Killed On Video At The Border Of Morocco/Spain by IBEXY(m): 1:58pm On Jun 27, 2022
In this shocking video, police are seen brutally beating up migrants. Clearly some of them are dead or close to death. The amount of hate in this video is just too much. How is this different from the concentration camps of Hitler Germany?

Culture / What Are Some Remarkable/ Strange Cultures In Your Part Of The World? by IBEXY(m): 7:40pm On Aug 16, 2021
I am making a list of remarkable cultural practices I have heard of. Please add yours. I will start with this one:

Sharo is a practice of the Fulanis in Northern Nigeria where a young man is flogged to prove he is capable of enduring pain and can manage his own family. During the flogging, which is usually held in public, the young man is not supposed to show any sign of pain.

I dont really have all the details. Please tell us more if you know of this practice.

I was at Berger traffic yesterday and was making a turn to drive towards zone7 and a man walked to me and said that he was looking for job and now have nothing to pay his way home and was also hungry...

I asked if I should drive him home and he agreed, said he was staying at Apo resettlement..... Asked that he should enter the car and he did ..

He began to tell me his story, how he got sacked and he's got a wife and a kid, six months old... He said he wasn't a lazy person...That these days he can't even take care of himself...He also said, that his wife is footing the bills but he's always very ashamed to be depending on his wife...

Had to do my best for him...Knowing that this is how criminals are birthed.. He'd stood there till late at night and probably have to attack someone to get money and might be lucky to make much money in his first attack...
He'd try again and again and then become brutal and dreaded.....And eventually into kidnapping and be disturbing people's peace...
This is the story of millions of people. Majority of those dont turn to robbery and kidnapping.

Sorry guys but let us be realistic.
If one is applying for a writer's job, the least one can do is to send a properly worded and formatted response?
Some people are sending responses that automatically disqualify them.

Very good. Even though we should condemn stealing, ordinary milk should not warrant that level of punishment! Her actions were obviously caused by hunger.

Its really commendable that a lot of people here see this inhumane treatment for what it is. Now, what can we do about it to send a message to the wicked people who took the law into their own hands to unleash jungle justice on a woman who stole FOOD?
Left for me, if possible, I would have found this woman and personally donated money to her.
What do you guys say? How can we make this work to demonstrate our disagreement with this type of justice?
As a followup, is there any way to contact this woman? Does anyone know her?

Nairaland / General / How Safe Is A Bank Website That Constantly Throws An Error? by IBEXY(m): 11:05am On Feb 14, 2020
Its ridiculous! This major Nigerian bank cant invest in a safe, secure aesthetically pleasing web portal. What are they doing with all the money they make off customers?
What about security? Do they really care about cyber security? I have hidden the name of the bank involved here but am sure some of you are familiar with who they are. I am really concerned about using this web portal.

The attached message is one of the very annoying error messages you get half of the times you attempt to access their web portal. Ridiculous!

1StopRudeness:
It’s all illegal as long as long as u ain’t a Pharamacist.. even a pharmacologist, pharmaceutical scientist, Doctors aren’t allowed or licensed to run a drug store.....But this is nigeria, we all find a way around everything
what people do is open the drug store and get the license of a registered Pharamacist and his consent and hang it at the shop ...so technically when health task force/ compliance team show up....you, the real owner become an ordinary sales rep while ur “Oga” (the owner of the license on the wall) has gone out...afterall, it’s not a crime for one Pharamacist to have plenty shops
But don’t be greedy by selling drugs not allowed...that’s how my friend got his license suspended.... the foolishh Igbo boy he helped with his license sold lexotan to a task force office who presented to be a random walk-in customer
This is what I was told. Technically a Licence holder can open multiple shops.
Thanks for your input.
