Why do we celebrate people after they are gone. Nigerians, let's learn to appreciate our own when they are alive.

This is the way of humanity. You never truly appreciate what you have until you lose it.

Yes, it won't bring him back.

But everyone needs to remember how the man lived, especially those who never met him when he was alive.

Pius lives!

God bless you. Some people think that mourning the dead is all about wailing, crying and shedding crocodile tears. As a writer himself, I believe the man would have been awed with these writings about him.

Bloggers always looking for any opportunity to eat.

-How Pius poured anointing oil inside the plane.
-How TB Joshua saw his death and warned him.
-How his step daughter advice him not to wear blue shoes that day.
-How Bukola Saraki put charms in the cockpit
-How he was going to be appointed as Commissioner of Tourism.

Enough of the stories already. Alllow the family mourn in peace and Pius Rest in Peace.

Digging up this sad stories will not bring him back.

I'm sorry but you don't seem to understand what it means to write a condolence. Not everything has to be doom and gloom or simply saying sorry one million times for the mourning families. People write about the good times simply to give the family memories worth living for...people celebrate the good life lived by the dead so that everyone can mourn less. Now, this is one good story and kudos to the author.

This is not news...which pattern have we not tried. A confused entity dwelling on its laws, changing it every step of the way to fit every new circumstance in human dynamics (that's going to be an infinity of options). Why not try changing the mindsets of the people for whom the laws are made, so that they become true to the cause?

When you have no idea about the topic in a thread, the best thing is to simply read and maybe learn here and there. No! Nigerians have an idea about everything, even those who haven't ever seen the inside of a fast car will comment about Defense equipment...this is NOT how great nations are made.

Nobody is above the law. A leader suppose to lead by example but reverse is the case here. I wonder how he will behave when he is elected as president.

Who made the nonsense law? Going by the Senators standards, the President should be made to wear all kinds of uniforms in the country since he's the leader of all formations and the Commander-In-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. He should rotate uniforms daily, all week long. Stupid people! If they really had the interest of Nigerians in mind to debate that customs duty issue for old cars they wouldn't even bring up this uniform matter. They'd start debating from day one and almost have a headway on the issue by now. Instead...why are you not wearing uniform is now the issue. Are they saying they don't recognize the man enough to have a reasonable debate with him? Or they just want to see how he looks in the Customs uniform? Useless Ego rats!

Ignorant folk all over NL. Projects that are purely infrastructure and some ppl are haggling over how a region will not benefit. Is the infrastructure for trees or immovable objects? Railways, electricity and roads can be of benefit to anyone from any part of the country as long as you have a choice on where to live. Even if the project (e.g. rail) is in your region and you live elsewhere, what good has that done for you personally than to simply feed your myopic sentiments.

Who and Who should rise up? I dont pity for jibrin @ all. Both Dogara, Jibrin and co are guilty of same crime. Jibrin openly said on national tv that the budget was not padded! He is only forming anti-corruption because he was the scape goat that was sacked from the chairmanship position.. In a sane society, him and hOR speaker cohorts should have been charged to court and recalled by their constituents.
Meanwhile PMB and APC led govt corruption fight is a huge scam.

From the Executive to the Independent Legislature. How exactly do you expect the President to take action in this case? Are we under military rule? Does the Executive not have enough problems of their own to worry about? Ending the recession, raising revenues, explaining sale of assets to Unions, fighting insurgency etc.

Oil contributes 15% of our GDP, how does the drop in oil price take us into recession? This is just like telling me a shareholder holding 15% shares in a country can unilaterally decide the company's future. Drop in crude prices should have only affected our earnings but could never have driven us into recession, economic mismanagement did. And the chief contributor to such mismanagement is the constant policy summersault by the present government, nothing erodes investors confidence more than that.

I'm not even an Economist but I know that you can't spend GDP. What you need to have looked at is Nigeria's Export earnings. This is what the Federation (FG, 36 States and the FCT) share for spending and for paying salaries. Oil contributes over 80% (sometimes up to 90%) of Nigeria's Export earnings. Now with oil dropping from $140 per barrel to as low as $30 per barrel, I hope you get the recession logic.

Why make policies that will make the poor suffer more? Why not increase taxes for the rich, example Tax anyone with over N2millon annual salary of 9% VAT and more depending on the pay. In that way you can alleviate the poor from suffering. The gap between the rich and the poor is too wide.

While it's true that the gap btw the rich and the poor is still wide, I would disagree with you that it's a failure of tax law. Right now, there are a lot of people whose monthly tax bill is more than the monthly salaries of many average earners. Also, the poor don't have access to Internet as much and so would already be excluded from this proposed Bill. You and I who have these access should not always think of ourselves as poor even though some of us want to cry more than the bereaved. We must remember that we're part of the privileged few.

For me, there are no absolutes. Life itself is relative. So yes, I don't fault people who say the fight against corruption is lopsided. Neither do I query those who claim that they've got to choose their battles. Political tenure is short, resources are limited and life itself is short. Whoever carries on with the fight can cumulatively take us to that balanced state where all parties to corruption would have been probed (even if it means posthumous convictions for some people)

I don't really understand the concept of corruption fighting in BUHARI'S Government again. I think it's fighting against the Perceived Enemies of BUHARI'S Government.

A party in government for 6 years, a new party takes over that wasn't ever in federal government. Probing of federal funds especially arms deal begins. Do you need special science to know that the targets of the probe (at least those who handled public funds) would ALL be members of the last administration? Whether they stole money or not is a different case. All the people who will be invited must have held post in the previous government. So, unless that government was magnanimous enough to share posts with people from both parties, the probe would definitely appear one-sided.

In addition, by African standards (where mob action is apparently legitimized by the common man on the street), these guys are having a fair hearing and the opportunity to defend themselves in court. There should be no confusion here sir.

Looting Nigeria's common wealth u say! I still can't understand if that is actually true. And that mentality is actually what the AC used in deceiving us... None of this looters have ever been found guilty all since, so what are we saying.. Since we all accuse them of loot, but at that time Nigeria economy experience a growth, standard of living was okay... But what do we have today... I really think corruption itself starts in the APC regime, if baba cannot account for the billions he meet in account... SMH.. Let's really define corruption :it is a system where only the elites enjoy and are able to travel aboard for medical checkup... Which is very high in this regime, bt during PDP an average Nigeria can afford a medical checkup oversea.

How old are you? Teenager? I can help you make the link between cause and effect especially in public policy but I need to know if you're capable of digesting the analysis.

This is height of lawlessness as far as am concern,a governor on motorcycle without a safety helmet, what is he preaching?..........that shows who he is..

It's pathetic. Leader by negative example. No wonder BRF said Sociologists would need to help us describe the new genome of the Ekiti people. This is a sad day in Nigeria's recent democracy that should be progressive. When Lee Kuan Yew was busy developing his country, at what point did he seek becoming a grassroots person? Today, even the treeroots are seeing and visiting Singapore in admiration.

Unfortunately for this man and his people, when they wake up from their slumber, fast trains will be crisscrossing places like Lagos, Enugu, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja etc. Then maybe when resource control is suddenly kickstarted, they'll ask "how did we get left behind?"

Impossible? Look no further. That's the story of the SW and others versus the North in the first republic.
