Travel / Re: "I Will Tear And Burn My Nigerian Passport, Once I Become Canadian" - Nigerian by JosBoy4Lif(m): 10:32pm On Aug 24, 2013
I love the convenience of having my dual passport. But Will never renew my Nigerian passport in Ottawa. Rather whenever I am back home I pay the 20,000 or so naira to renew within a couple days. It's so sad that our corrupt officials carry the same attitude even abroad where the whole world is watching them. Me travel from Toronto to Ottawa for passport renewal na lie. Just my two cents, two dollars, 200 dollars, 2000 dollars grin grin grin. At the same time my Nigerian passport is wonderful, I would never want to land in Abuja and show them my Canadian passport. When in Nigeria I show them the green passport (although there are benefits to travelling with VISA). Any other country show them the blue passport Shikena. No burning of my Nigerian passport. still love the Green White and Green with all its imperfections

Ileke-IdI:

Some of us are already sharing this intertribal, international love.

PS: Africans kill each other to better reduce the growing population. Obviously, most Africans are resistent to chronic diseases. If Nigeria's civil war had not taken place, Lord knows what our popl would be now.

Hmmm? Please I want you to elaborate on this rather comical inference

Politics / Re: Wikileaks: Gov. Jang Lagely Responsible For Jos Crisis by JosBoy4Lif(m): 7:30pm On Sep 25, 2011
naijaking1:

I'm not saying Jang has been perfect, but the recent interview with Alh. Passali who said Hausa/Fulanis are indigenous to Jos also add fuel to the fire. The Nigerian constitution is defective in areas of who is a native and who is not, and that has been one of the most contentious issue of our republic. We need to address this problem from a truely national perspective. If an Igbo or Yoruba man can't run for a political office in Jos why should a Fulani man do so?

I could not agree with you more regarding the bolded statement. But our leaders would not allow for such to occur because it would threaten the vary modus operandi that allows them to get into power. And who said and Igbo man or Yoruba man cannot run for political office in Jos? He certainly can, he just would not win since our general population vote based on ethno-religious sentiment instead of who is best for the Job.
Politics / Re: Hausa-Fulanis Are Indigenes Of Jos– Passali by JosBoy4Lif(m): 7:17pm On Sep 25, 2011
naijaking1:

How do I say it you?
The whole idea of marginalizing non-indigens was an attempt to limit rapidly spreading Igbos covering the whole Nigerian landscape like proteus before and after the civil war. The idea was of course designed and implemented by the Hausa/Fulani intelligensia. "Jos is simply coming back to bite them on their butts"

While the Igbos elected the first Hausaman to be mayor of Enugu, you really can never imagine an Igbo being elected or even allowed to run a significant office in say Kano, Kaduna, or even Lagos with significant Igbo populations.
Same goes for Yoruba in Port Harcourt, etc.

How do you say it to me?
I am not really interested in how the whole notion of  indigine status came to be. All I know is that it has polarized Nigeria into a political farce.
Nigeria is a one-party system that practices rotational leadership. This system is rooted in this indigine bullcrap.

You are right it has come to bight them in the butt, but it is causing some unnecessary bloodshed. I weep for Plateau  cry
Politics / Re: Wikileaks: Gov. Jang Lagely Responsible For Jos Crisis by JosBoy4Lif(m): 7:06pm On Sep 25, 2011
Is this a coming as a surprise to anyone
Jang is leader of a mult-ethno-religious state like Plateau, but is running around in-sighting that we must defeat our enemies in Jesus name.
are statements like this not going to add fuel to the fire?

When both Christian and Muslim communities are destroyed and Jang only shows condolence for the Christian communities is this not going to add fuel to the fire?

When Jang the leader can not sit down and have dialogue with the "warring" parties, rather declare "war" against a party is that not going to add fuel to the fire?

When a Hausa man is cheated out of Jos-north chairmanship and Jang rigs a berom man(who have less population in J-North than Igbo's and Yoruba's) as chairman is this not going to add fuel to the fire?
(naijaking, during Dariye's regime Dariye did the diplomatic thing by instilling a chairman and vice-chairman thereby appeasing both sides, a mark of a true politician)

Obviously this Crisis can not be blamed solely on the Governor, but Jang has failed miserably in keeping the peace in Plateau. Left up to him he would not one muslim in Plateau. I wish Jang could use the same resourcefulness that he has used in building roads and infrastructure in the state and find a lasting solution to this "un-jostified" predicament we are in as state. The people of Plateau want peace!
Politics / Re: Hausa-Fulanis Are Indigenes Of Jos– Passali by JosBoy4Lif(m): 6:44pm On Sep 25, 2011
Indigene this Indigene that. Why can;t we all just be indigenous of Nigeria?
I have said it before one thing Nigeria needs to do away with is this Indigene certificate bullshit.
Politics / Re: 80% Of Northern Children Are Ignorant-- Gov Amaechi by JosBoy4Lif(m): 4:45am On Sep 19, 2011
I have absolutely no problem with what Gov Ameachi is trying to say.
Nigeria's educational standards rank poorly vis-a-vis the rest of the world.

I think this was the message that he was trying to resonate. We should not get hung up on a mere conjecture, rather the the message that he is trying to convey is what's important. His word choice is damning, but all he is trying to say is that Nigeria's basic education system is garbage

I wonder why pple keep saying goodluck should catch boko haram, where have u ever seen the president catch terrorists? Isn't it the security agencies responsibility? Did obama catch osama?

We are not asking for him to literally go out and look for this terroist obviously, rather we want Boko Haram to be actively persued by the Nigerian government and her forces. That is all.

Nigeria can not continue to stay idle while blatent terroist acts are being commited. Right now as we speak people are being roasted in Jos, the military presence has been a smoke-screen allowing for actually more nefarious actions to be carried out in Plateau. ie the kidnapping of Mikels father was perpetrated by soldiers

Business / Re: Arbitrage In Nigeria by JosBoy4Lif(m): 4:59pm On Jun 18, 2011
Arbitrage in its purest form is risk-less profit
***Example being shares that trade on two international markets and due to time delays one can take advantage of small price differentials***

Arbitrage and speculative/hedge trading are two different things
When it comes to established markets individual investors do not have the sophisticated tools to take advantage of Arbitrage.

denzel2009:

I'm not sure if this is still practised/allowed in Nigeria. In the late 90's people made loads of money buying WAUA travellers' cheques in Nigeria going to Ghana and converting same to Cedis and then buying dollars in Ghana's black market then back to Nigeria. The gains on this round trip is out of this world.
This is a form of profit, I would consider it Arbitrage only if it were risk-less

This situation is only going to get worse.

No one is asking anyone to forget anything. But sentiment aside if there is no resolution the problem will exponentially grow.
I believe that peace is the way  forward nothing cowardly about that as the likes of EzeUche have labeled.

I don't know what type of rogue society that some assholes on this thread are demeaning fit for Plateau. But I want none of that!
I want a peaceful co-existence to be restored on the Plateau. This is not time for is "right" politics, unless of course we want more lives lost on both sides of the battlefield.
Politics / Re: Jos Burning Now! by JosBoy4Lif(m): 11:30pm On Jan 30, 2011
@(Kafanchan/EzeUche)

I don't understand how I can be berated for wanting to proffer a bloodless solution to the endemic problems facing Plateau.
There are roughly 1 Million muslims in plateau so due to political and religious differences we should have crisis by your definitions?

Either you like it or not Jang is responsible for the stability of this state. If it is in constant crisis their is a problem.
During Dariye's governorship there was civil unrest when he traveled out of country ONCE. In order to appease the so called "murderers", that Jang is describing these people, Dariye appointed a Hausa/fulani Deputey Chairman of Jos North during his tenure.

Jang the so called protector of Plateau appointed his own Beromite as Chairman. A slap on the true indigines of Jos North the Jarawa.
Iron type politics is draconian and not befitting of a true democratic republic. Nigeria will be a true democracy when an Igbo man is Kano Governor and Hausa is governor of Lagos. Until then we will continue to digress. \

At this point my only request is for peace in Plateau to be restored. How many more lives do we need to needlessly sacrifice in attempt to uphold our stupid ethnocentric beliefs? The Hausa-Fulani will never rule Plateau and they would be stupid to believe they could. Plateau is the home of Military Juggernaut like Yakubu Gowon.

Jos North was created to the detriment of the indigenous people of Plateau. Long before that Hausa/Fulani have been using Plateau as there state of origin for allocation of federal jobs for places like ANPP CBN etc. BUT WTF? Are we no supposed to kill each other over this? EzeUche and his kinsman would like such a thing to happen so that they can see told you so. What a rudimentary existence that their ilk embody! Let us find a solution to co-existence. There was peace in Plateau let us restore, I am not asking for a new page in the book, rather lets go back a couple chapters.
Politics / Re: Jos Burning Now! by JosBoy4Lif(m): 7:14am On Jan 30, 2011
tpia*:

goodluck jonathan where are you!!!!!!!!!

is he still in the country?

Jonathan has given PDP incumbents a free ride in the primaries. Therefore, as a direct result more blood will be spilled as the likes of Governor Jang have convinced the masses that this political issue is religious in nature.

I watched an address whereby he claimed that Jesus Christ will rescue Plateau from these "murderers". Unless he can sit down and have a civil discussion with these so called "murderers" as he has punctually put it, this civil unrest will continue. We know what the problem is in Plateau. Why don't we proffer solutions like the intelligent human beings we are?

The sad part is that Jang will be re-elected governor of plateau as his main opposition is a women in Pauline Tallin. In a sexist Nigeria, I wish her all the best as we need to stop the killings on the Plateau (OBJ please rescue my beloved Plateau from further bloodshed, I beg you still get influence for Naija) . And all you supporters of Jang who believe he is paving roads and building infrastructure need to ask yourselves what good is that if you are not free to move peacefully?
Politics / Re: Jos: 3 Killed, 2 Wounded, 19 Youths Arrested In Fresh Attack by JosBoy4Lif(m): 2:43am On Dec 23, 2010
trenchcoat:

Someone said it was politically motivated to split Nigeria, since the inception of Obj it has always been crisis Jos, Maiduguri, etc, also there is sentiment from the Jang and company they are also causing the whole confusion, he is marginalizing other tribes in the state even the Beroms too, if you are not from Du village forget it.

I dey laugh, who give Berom cows? What about the cows they stole from the Fulani's? The Beroms stole more than 400 cows during the last crises, and as for the Fulani man its better you kill him than touching his cows, so I guess they went back to get what belongs to them.

The best thing for Plateau is to get an emergency state and prosecute those involved, they the government knows all those involved. I pray that peace comes back to the Plateau, Amen.

This is exactly the crux of the problem. Spot on. Jang is ruling like a tyrant I have maintained this belief from the very beginning. Sure development in terms of infrastructure has skyrocketed in Plateau but at what expense. What good is nicely tarred road when their is no peace on those same roads?
