@ GunPoint. You sound a very smart man, age is on your side and you know what you want. That's 3 points for you. But I would urge you not to consider London South Bank. As many people have pointed it's NOT a well ranked University. As you may or may not know, after you complete an MSc here in UK you would no longer have the option of getting the post study visa. The options you would have left is a career in another country - You want to go to a well known University with great ranking who have alumni and international presence in other countries. People talk about packaging yourself or selling yourself e.t.c but one can always learn that later anyway, if you make another mistake in choosing the wrong University. That's basically the end for that. You have not made that mistake - so you can still choose wisely. I would encourage you to consider USA for your degree, yes the visa is harder, it's 2 years instead of 1 year - which would give you more time to do your research e.t.c and an engineering degree there is more hands-on and practical compared to the UK. I honestly feel the UK postgraduate is too rushed. I came out not feeling much wiser than when I went in. Lastly, if you do consider US. You might want to look at University of Houston for an petrol engineering degree, all the Nigerians I know who studied there are working in Saudi / Dubai now. Best of luck |

claremont: I thought the same thing too. . Prostitution exists everywhere in the world, we know this. . .why is this being posted ? And please don't make it a Nigerian thing. There are American prostitutes in Dubai, British prostitutes in Italy, and so forth and so forth. It exists, it's the worlds oldest profession. And no matter how well a country's economy is there would always be prostitutes heck, there would be even be more. So once again, what is the use of this being posted ? ![]() |

*sigh* here we go what did you expect to see there? Mexicans? or better yet, Nigerians?! No, I actually expected to see Somalians. The saying Paris is beautiful, but is full of the French is a popular gag that most people know. Hotels are expensive. I spent 2 months finding the perfect hotel, and I still hated the one I finally found which was in Opera (Central Paris), so just look on booking.com for any hotel you can afford. I checked many and they were all expensive and had bad reviews, I might as well stay in the centre of town, and just stay in one of the bad ones. i completely disagree with that statement. if someone goes to Paris simply to take pics to "claim" they were there then they best stay where they are at. I did almost of the things you mentioned, and paid several hundreds of Euros doing it. Was it worth my money ? NO I don't think so. We have different opinion and value for money, and I don't think it was worth mine. The tourist attractions are now tourist traps. Everything feels forced and hurried. With exception to Louvre. The are minimal tourist attractions in Berlin, and I enjoyed that the most. Never take a taxi. I mean never . . A word is enough for the wise. It's not just from the centre, it's everywhere. I needed one one time to meet a friend appointment, and I wasn't near the centre, I was in assortment 13. But the price I was quoted, and taxi's start running from when you telephone them, not when they arrive. It's an advice I gave the poster that he doesn't need to heed. this is something that French are famous for, and some may find it kinda "racist" while other wont even notice it. Exactly, which is why I didn't mention the dreaded R word. I don't think they were racists (they might be). I just found them extremely unhelpful, language barrier or not. I saw an Turkish girl crying at a Metro. She was going to be late for her flight and needed advice. It's a long story, but it's a sad comparison compared to other cities I visited. In the long run, it's not a matter that can be argued. I did not like anything about the city except Louvre, ease of walking around and their surprisingly easy to use Metro system. Liking a city is a feeling not something that's in facts and tourists traps/attractions |
@ Poster I just got back from an Europe holiday. I spent 2 days in Paris, 1 day in Amsterdam and 4 days in Berlin. Paris was the worst, I felt homesick (which I normally never do), and I wanted to go back home. Thank God for Amsterdam and Berlin Paris is beautiful and easy to get around. . the problem IT'S FULL OF FRENCH PEOPLE. Hotels are expensive. I spent 2 months finding the perfect hotel, and I still hated the one I finally found which was in Opera (Central Paris), so just look on booking.com for any hotel you can afford. Don't worry about location, the city is small and their metro is very easy to navigate and walking around is easy, everything is always off a long street. Don't fall for silly tourist attractions, just go there and take pics, no need to pay hundreds of Euros to enter like I did. Never take a taxi. I mean never . . A word is enough for the wise. As someone said security is good, no hoodlums e.t.c I never felt scared. And if lost, ask around. . there are a lot of foreigners and expatriate who are glad to find another English speaking person. But as for the French . . I'm sorry to generalise, but they were always pretty much useless. |

stmarc32: The butters who consume do it out of their love for it, and are probably overweight anyway. What we mean by poverty syndrome, is a nice in shape girl, who because she nabs a rich guy starts to over consumes junk and gains weight. I've seen it happen so many times. |
What you don't plan to eat, don't bring it near your nose or smell it - Yoruba adage. Your friend is a fool and wicked person. The woman has no fault in this, how was she to know that the guy didn't like her ? When he didn't categorically tell her. She did her part and expected more. And what's up with everyone having unsafe sex these days ? With all the billions spent on safe sex / condom campaigns ![]() |
I blame that attitude on proverty. Educated people and people in Western countries are running away as fast as they can from junk food. . most Nigerian girls are running in the opposite direction. It's a sad day when guys these days take better care of their bodies than girls. Girls, I understand you must chop his money. . But ask for recharge cards, phones e.t.c . Because you're actually killing yourself by making him take you to fast food zones. |
I echo Veira, NO ONE IS SAFE IN THE BOOKS. . . NO ONE ! THE MOST POPULAR CHARACTERS ARE KILLED OFF WITHOUT SECOND THOUGHTS OR MERCY ! EPIC I'm currently reading the third book ! |
ragdollz: Is musical icon the same thing as actress ? Had Grace ever been to Hollywood or had a acting when she acted that role ? So why can't Genevieve who has more acting credit to her belt do the same ? And that was 1985 when Grace had 2 records to her name. Please know the meaning of the word "Icon" before you used it. Other people mentioned her skin color and implied her nationality in relation to the franchise, if you're blind to read the whole thread, then that's your problem. . . and not mine. ![]() |
Beef would not allow you people see front. The role she is being considered for might not actually be Bond girl, it could be an African spy or some exotic scientist from Africa, The possibilities are endless. Think outside the box FOOLS ! In A View To Kill (1985). Grace Jones who is blacker than Genevieve could ever be, and not half the actress was also in James Bond. And I don't think that rendered that franchise unwatchable. Grace Jones had a heavy Jamaican accent, so please don't bring accents into this debate. Gene is a good actress, and if you're good at what you do the sky should be your limit. |
1. Yes you do. 2. Yes you do. 3. It's always crowded, the last time I applied was 2009,and they have appointment slots which makes it very well organised (Victoria Island VFS) 4. Depends on which visa, ball park figure is 7 - 15 working days for all. |
