Politics / Sanwo-olu Was Arrested In The US For Spending Fake Dollars" - Gov. Ambode by KNEO777: 3:59pm On Sep 30, 2018
Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his opponent in the race to secure the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, is not fit to fill the position of a governor.

Addressing a press conference at government house, Alausa, Ikeja, on Sunday, Ambode said Sanwo-Olu was arrested for spending fake dollars in the US.

He also said Sanwo-Olu underwent rehabilitation at Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos.

Appealing to the leadership of the party in Lagos to “do the right thing”, Ambode said Sanwo-Olu is being pushed to do what he is not capable of.

“We have never responded to the campaign of calumny on social media. We have one family in APC. The aspirant being put up to compete against us is not a fit and proper person to take this job,” he said.

“I have done everything in the last three and half years to serve people selflessly and to serve the poor.

“This particular aspirant is somebody that has been arrested for spend fake dollars in a nightclub in America, and he has been detained for months.

“He doesn’t have the competence to do what he is being propelled to do. This is somebody that has gone for rehabilitation before. The records are there at the Gbagada General Hospital. We don’t want to go to far. Our leadership should have a rethink.

“I plead with our leaders to have a rethink, It is not about me, it is about the opportunity that APC has.”

Phones / Woman's Horror After Galaxy Note 9 "Burst Into Flames" Inside Her Purse (photos) by KNEO777: 1:01pm On Sep 17, 2018
A woman who claims her Galaxy Note 9 smartphone "burst into flames" inside her purse is suing Samsung.

Diane Chung, a US real estate agent, says the new Note 9 model launched earlier this year is dangerous and hers caught fire in her purse, according to the New York Post.

Chung claims that just after midnight on September 3, while travelling in a lift, her phone "became extremely hot". She said she had to stop using the phone and placed it in her bag. Shortly after, she said she "heard a whistling and screeching sound, and...noticed thick smoke" pouring out from her purse.

According to Chung, she put the bag on the lift floor and tried to empty it, allegedly burning her fingers when grabbing the phone. Chung reported feeling "extremely panicked" while trapped alone in the lift, dropping the phone and frantically pressing elevator buttons through thick smoke. Once she reached the lobby, she reportedly kicked the phone out while it was still burning.

In the lawsuit, which was filed with the Queens Supreme Court, Chung claims that the phone didn't stop smoking until someone picked it up with a cloth and put it in a bucket of water. Chung described the incident as "traumatic", saying she was left unable to contact clients and it left the contents of her bag ruined.

Now Chung is demanding damages from Samsung, calling the phone "defective" and asking for a restraining order that bans the sale of Galaxy Note 9 smartphones.

It comes just two years after Samsung was forced to recall an earlier Galaxy phone after dozens of users reported overheating, spontaneous fires, and even explosions.

Just last month, Samsung chief DJ Koh promised that his new phone definitely wouldn't explode: "The battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than ever.

He continued: "Users do not have to worry about the batteries any more."

Following the incident with Chung, a Samsung spokesperson acknowledged the incident in a statement given to The Sun, but said it appeared to be an isolated case.

The spokesperson said:

Samsung takes customer safety very seriously and we stand behind the quality of the millions of Galaxy devices in use.

We have not received any reports of similar incidents involving a Galaxy Note 9 device and we are investigating the matter.

Family / My Husband Lied His Concubine Was His Aunt, Made Me Live With Her – Wife by KNEO777: 9:58am On Aug 18, 2018
An Oke-Ogbere Customary Court in Ibadan on Thursday dissolved a three-year-old marriage between one Temilade Oyeyemi and her husband, Ayo Oyeyemi , over deception and adultery.

The court’s president, Sulaiman Olaniyi, said, “In the interest of peaceful living, the union between Temilade and Ayo has ceased to be.

“Temilade shall take custody of the two-and-a-half-year-old child produced by the union while Ayo shall pay a monthly allowance of N3,000 for the child’s upkeep in addition to being responsible for his welfare.”

Mr Olaniyi, who also held that no form of deception could last forever advised young men to take care of their parents so as not to incur the wrath of God.

Temilade, 28, narrating her ordeal, told the court that her husband deceived her by presenting his concubine to her as his aunt.

“After I had pledged my future in marriage with Ayo three years ago, he completely deceived me that his concubine was his aunt.

“During the wedding, he introduced the same woman to my family as the only person that could stand in place of his late mother; and my family, unknowingly, accepted his deception.

“Ayo then took me to his mistress’s apartment to live,’’ she said.

Temilade said that the lady gave her all that she needed and she was happy living with the two secret lovers.

“However, I noticed that at around 1 a.m. on most days, Ayo would leave my side on our matrimonial bed.

“He would move to the floor where his secret lover he referred to as his aunt was sleeping to romance and have sex with her.

“He often would blame the hot weather for his usually reason for leaving my side to sleep on the floor.

“It then became clear to me that Ayo and that lady were never related but that they were, in fact, secret lovers.’’

Temilade said that when she was pregnant, Ayo never took care of her but he abandoned his responsibilities to his parents-in-law.

“Ayo is not trustworthy, he is a wicked man,’’ dissolve our union, Temilade said.

The respondent, Ayo, 38, conceded to the dissolution of the marriage after he had denied some of the allegations leveled against him by Temilade.

Ayo, who claimed to be a building engineer, contended that his wife was a good-for-nothing and lazy woman.

“My lord, I am responsible for my cooking and washing; I have all along catered for Temilade’s needs,” Ayo said.

In his testimony, Ayo’s father, however, pointed out that his son was a terrible husband and a fornicator.

“Ayo never told anybody in the family about his wedding and we are surprised about how everything has turned out.

“No one knows the concubine he is parading as his aunt.

“In fact, Ayo has never taken care of me since I had an accident in 2010.

“I am praying this court to settle the matter for them,” Ayo’s father begged.

Some of Temilade’s family members in their separate testimonies presented evidence of how Ayo maltreated the petitioner and prayed the court to terminate the union.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Temilade resides in Agbeni area while Ayo lives in Monatan area of Ibadan. (NAN)

While students went to Awo cafe to read, the cat joined them, took up space on an empty bench and began looking through a book to the amusement of other studying students.

The photos were shared on an OAU Facebook group with the caption: "Even in OAU animals do read, imagine a cat reading in Awo cafe."

Literature / Empathy, Pain And Grieving With Those Who Grieve by KNEO777: 12:52pm On Jun 27, 2018
I've heard about so many deaths lately, but the news of the deaths isn't  half as disheartening as the comments that follow. The perfect ones who obviously have mastered the act of staying alive with the: "what were they looking at?" "they had it coming" comments.

Usually, if you've never experienced loss for example it's impossible to relate with someone mourning. We can't even imagine what they are going through because we've never had an experience even remotely close to their's.

Other times, we know exactly what our loved one is going through, but fail to relate to them appropriately. For those situations, we have to try even harder to show empathy and be sympathetic toward someone who is grieving.

I remember when my father passed, and the pain i felt. I was beyond crying, so was my mother and my siblings so in our alone times we'd sit together in silence, sometimes holding hands.

I had a long list of irritants, first being: "It is well!" Oh My Goodness! i could literally have sent them right my father. In what world is all well? definitely not ours so please, no offence, geddifock away (pardon my french, but even remembering upsets me). But my mom had explained that people were going to come around a lot so i had that blank look permanently plastered on my face, mumbled thank you or whatever was appropriate and moved on.

"I'm sorry about your loss" was another one that upset me. Are you really was what came to my mind but i usually replied with thank you.

"Do you need anything?" urrrrm yes please i'd like a new father. sigh

The relatives that came wailing from the junction! Oh My Goodness!!!! it was absolutely very upsetting! Never mourn more than the closest people to whoever died! it isn't a competition of tears please or who can howl the loudest.

The only thing that helped was silence, warm hugs, plenty food and hearing tales of how he was an amazing man.

I strongly believe that these people mean well It’s just that most of us don’t have a comfortable relationship with strong emotions like grief, anger, or hopelessness. When feelings like this are expressed in our midst, most people will tend to gloss over it or try to shut it down.

Learning to tolerate other’s reactions to your grief can be one of the most painful, yet necessary steps to take to rebuild your life after loss.

“You’re young, you’ll get married again someday.” “I know how you feel....my grandma passed away too.” “It’s been a year, shouldn’t you be over this by now?” “He’s moved on. You need to move on too.” “Don’t feel bad, she’s in a better place.” “You need to be strong for the children.” “Time heals all wounds.” If you are grieving the loss of your spouse or partner through death or divorce, it’s likely that you’ve heard these kinds of statements from others. How helpful are they? Not helpful at all, according to the Grief Recovery Institute.

Many people just don’t know what to say when they encounter someone who is suffering. It’s a rare person who is comfortable enough with his/her own emotional life that can tolerate the grief of another. For those of you who are experiencing intense grief, I understand it’s enough to put you into a rage when you feel misunderstood on top of everything else you are going through.

The thing about the statements above is that they cause more harm than good, even if the intentions behind them are the best. So why do people keep saying them? It’s likely that they have not received feedback from a stunned griever that is sufficient to get the point across.

Nobody ever said - "all is not well, if you think it is you need to leave now" or something close.

In a perfect universe, everyone would be taught how to approach a grieving person with empathy and to think before they do or say something that may unintentionally add to their suffering. I do understand that another person can’t “make” you feel anything. Each person has the responsibility for their reactions to people and situations in their lives. Yet, there are times when tact, good manners, and compassion are sorely lacking in our society and a little grief awareness and sensitivity training are in order.

Helpful Things You Can Do/Say if Someone You Know Is Grieving:

Ask, “How are you doing?” Then listen patiently to the answer without changing the subject or terminating the conversation. Create a safe space for them to talk about their experience if they would like to. You might feel honored that they trusted you enough to give an honest answer if it’s something other than “Fine.”
Say that you just found out about their loss. Rather than the obligatory “I’m sorry for your loss,” or “I’m sorry that your marriage didn’t work out for you,” try this instead: “I can’t imagine what this is like for you,” followed by “How are you doing?” Everyone’s grief is different. Even if you’ve experienced loss, you don’t know how they feel. Let them tell you about it in their own words.
Stay away from offering clichés like, “You were lucky to have the time you had,” “She’s with the angels now,” etc. It doesn’t help to have you try to rationalize away someone’s grief. If you’re not sure what to say, go back to tip #2 above.
“I’d like to help. Would you like me to __________?” Insert specific tasks that you are willing to do that you think might be helpful. You could suggest something like “watch the baby, sit with you, help you cook or clean,” etc. Then show up and do it if the answer is “Yes.” Try to avoid the offhand, “Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.” No one believes you really mean it and that puts the burden on the griever to think of something for you to do. They don’t have the energy for that.
When someone cries in front of you, all you have to do is stay put and say something in a soothing voice like, “It’s OK....let that out....I’m here for you.” Comforting them with a touch on the arm or a hug is great too. Just do your best to stay present and don’t try to “fix” it. Don’t hand them a tissue unless they ask for it. The tears will come to a natural completion of their own accord.
Do your best to keep your relationship intact. Avoiding a grieving person because it’s uncomfortable for you to be with them is hard for them. You can imagine the feelings of isolation they would be feeling if everyone in their lives reacted this way. It’s OK to say the name of the person that is gone. It’s OK to ask what happened. It’s OK to talk about the strangeness of it all. It’s even OK to cry in front of them or with them. Your silence and avoidance is what’s really painful.
People grieving want to be heard, seen, understood. Even though sometimes they want to be left alone to mourn, They need to know that they aren’t alone. Know that your love and empathy will go a long way towards supporting a grieving person in their deepest time of need. Know that they would do it for you, too.

Empathy is having the ability to recognize and share the feelings of another person. It's what allows us as humans to have compassion for those who are suffering.

Business / Re: The Worrisome Trend Of Sensational Social Media Journalism About Nigerian Banks by KNEO777: 1:01pm On Jun 26, 2018
That's one of the major drawbacks of social media and social media journalism. Anyone can peddle anything they deem fit, and this goes viral in no time. There's almost no way to authenticate such news, and even if it eventually gets discredited often times the effect of the discrediting doesn't travel as far as the effect of the original news.

Laws need to be put inlace to ensure that whoever is caught peddling fake news will be appropriately dealt with.
i have used FCMB bank and I've gotten nothing short of excellent service in the whole time. my money has never gone missing, i don't pay for unnecessary charges. whoever is peddling such malicious news should be appropriately death with.

A top doctor in Germany is under arrest for killing a lover with cocaine while she performed MouthAction upon him.

Dr. Andreas Niederbichler, 42, is believed to have sprinkled cocaine on his penis before MouthAction was performed on him by his 38-year-old lover and it killed her. Police say Dr. Andreas is being probed for giving three more women the drug during sexual encounters although they suffered no serious adverse effects.

Niederbichler, a plastic and reconstructive surgery expert, was appointed head doctor in his field at the Harzer Clinic in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 2016. According to recent reports in the German media, he is the new chief physician at the Ameos Hospital in Halberstad.

The 38-year-old woman was involved in consensual MouthAction with the doctor on February 20 when she collapsed at his home in Halberstadt. His apartment was within clinic grounds and she was raced to hospital in an ambulance but died soon after being admitted.

Prosecutors say he gave her cocaine without her knowing about it. He is charged with bodily harm leading to death.

Chief prosecutor Hal Roggenbuck said: The victims who have been heard so far have all indicated that they have been ill at the meetings. All of them showed reactions due to the use of narcotics."

Sports / Shocking: Eight Members Of Iran's Women's Soccer Team Are Men by KNEO777: 6:03pm On Apr 06, 2018
It has been discovered that Iranian soccer officials filled the women’s soccer team with eight big, strong, fast men.

Iranian soccer officials are accused of taking advantage of a sports policy which allows biological men to play on women’s teams if they believe they are women trapped in men’s bodies. This policy was announced by the International Olympic Committee and allows men to participate in Olympic events without undergoing sex change procedures.

When the policy was announced, people worried that some countries would take advantage of the policies and replace their female athletes with men and just as feared, it happened, starting with Iran.

Iranian official, Mojtabi Sharifi, admitted that the men were waiting for sex change operations.

Reacting to this, soccer authorities have ordered that all 8 men undergo gender testing to determine their levels of testosterone. This isn’t the first time the Iranian women’s team has fielded men. There were rumors that the players were men in 2011 and random gender checks in 2014 revealed some of the supposed women were men.

The problem is complicated by the Iranian culture which prohibits women from traveling unless they are given permission by their husbands or fathers. For example, Niloufar Ardalan who was recently prevented from accompanying the soccer team to a game in Malaysia because her husband would not allow her to travel

Crime / Ugandan Imam Who Defiled 2-Year-Old Girl Jailed For Life by KNEO777: 11:04am On Mar 14, 2018
The High Court sitting in Mukono has sentenced a 63-year-old Imam for defiling a two-year-old girl. Musa Mulo, an Imam at Kibubbu Mosque in Lugazi Municipality in the neighbouring Buikwe District, was convicted upon his own plea of guilt.

The state prosecutor Ms Janat Kitimbo told court that Musa Mulo sexually tormented the toddler in 2012. Prosecution submitted that on the fateful day, the victim went alone to Mulo’s home in the neighbourhood.

Mulo grabbed the toddler in his compound and took her into the house where he defiled her and damaged her private parts. Mr Musa Mulo later told the child to go back home.

Musa Mulo got a life imprisonment sentence. When the mother inquired what had happened to her child, a neighbour said the girl had been in Musa Mulo’s house.

Ms Nalumasi reported to police who arrested the randy Imam.

Upon his arrest, a group of Muslims stormed Nalumasi’s home and destroyed her property, claiming she had framed Musa Mulo, their religious leader

However at the commencement of the trial on Friday, the Musa Mulo pleaded guilty to defiling the girl.

“I carried that child, put her on my laps and I just saw my zip opening by itself,” the imam mused court.

Justice Ms Margaret Mutonyi observed that Mulo is not fit to be an imam or live in society. She described him as “a dangerous person” who is supposed to be kept away from children. Mulo had spent six years on remand.

The judge said defilement cases are on the rise in Buikwe due to drug abuse and parents’ negligence. She sentenced Mulo to life imprisonment.

The High Court sitting in Mukono, Uganda sentenced the 63-year-old Imam with 3 wives, for defiling a two-year-old girl. Musa Mulo, is an Imam at Kibubbu Mosque, and he was convicted upon his own plea of guilt.

Family / My Wife Was Sleeping With Married Men, While I Suffered In Libya – Returnee by KNEO777: 7:24am On Mar 14, 2018
A Libyan returnee identified as James Kwarteng has made a revelation on how his wife was frolicking with married men in Nigeria while he suffered in the North African country in his search for greener pastures.

A Ghanaian journalist, David Papa Bondze-Mbir, who shared Jame’s pathetic story on the internet met with him and donated $500 to him for the treatment of the injuries he sustained while in Libya.

According to reports, Mr. James Kwarteng was legally residing in Libya. He had permits to live and work there, until his unfortunate ‘arrest’.

He was reportedly captured by a group of armed Libyans and Koreans, who would only trade you for a sum of money or harvest your kidneys.

James who said he saw death everyday – was tied and hanged in the air for seven (7) days, without water or food to eat. The only taste of liquid he ever drank was the blood that oozed from his head anytime the Libyans crushed his head with a gun – when he called for water.

James further mentioned that once a foreigner is caught in Libya, they will be killed instantly if they can’t remember any phone number to call to send money to the captors:

“they seize all your belongings when captured; so if you are unable to remember any phone number off-head, for the Libyans to trade with, you are killed on the spot”. he said.

James had managed to save GHs 25,000 with his mother in Ghana, so when they (Libyans) contacted his mother, she wired that same money to save her son’s life.

James has Three (3) kids, two in secondary school, and One (1) in primary school.
While James was in Libya, surviving for his family, his wedded wife, a nurse, and a staunch church member was busy having an affair with another married man.

James reported that the man had planned on divorcing his wife for James’ wife and he got proof of his wife’s affair with the ex-boyfriend, and their plans to settle but couldn’t do much about it.

His wife later ran away, leaving this wounded man with their three kids.

Crime / 11-year-old Maid Strangles And Stabs 5-year-old Boy Placed In Her Care by KNEO777: 8:01pm On Mar 13, 2018
An 11-year-old girl has been arrested for the death of a 5-year-old boy left in her care at a home in Okoloko street, Abule-Ado Shoba, Lagos state.

Ojiugo Ifechukwu Duru allegedly strangled Chikamso after the child’s mother left her with him and his younger brother while she went to her place of business which was close by.

Not long after the mother left home on Saturday, she was called to return home that there was an emergency, and when she returned, she found that her maid had killed her first child.

“It’s just that my house girl strangled my son, my first issue,” the grieving mother said.

The woman, who is heavily pregnant with her third child, said the maid has now been arrested by the police.

She said: “For now, it’s not in my hand. She’s in custody already.  For now my husband is taking care of things. It’s now government case and not mine, so it’s not in my hands to decide what will happen and what will not happen.”

The father of the deceased resides in South Africa but reportedly returned as a result of his son’s death and is now following up with the Nigerian Police.

When sked the mother what the maid’s motive for killing her child was, she replied: “No just reason, just that she’s angry. That was just it.”

Recounting what happened on Saturday, March 10, 2018, a source said that Ojiugo beat Chikamso then tried to strangle him with a chain around his neck but he survived this. She then used a sharp curtain hook to stab the child on his penis and this led to his death.

The source said the maid then turned on the second son, a toddler, and began to beat him too. The boy, who is about 2 or 3, reportedly ran out of the house at this point and went to a neighbour’s. They also said that on a normal day, the child couldn’t open the door on his own, but out of desperation, he did.

When he got to their neighbour’s house, he held on tight to her and could not be consoled. The maid reportedly made her way to the neighbour’s house and tried to drag the younger boy home but he held on fast to the neighbour and kept crying. At this point, the neighbour became suspicious considering the boy had never behaved that way before.

“She has killed Bobo,” the little boy kept repeating to the neighbour.

The woman carried the baby back to their house to investigate and when she got there, she saw Chikamso lying lifeless. She lifted his hands and legs but they fell. It was then she knew the child was dead and she began to beat the maid who showed no remorse and didn’t cry. The neighbour then called the mother of the children and the police to the scene.

The maid is reportedly still in police custody and her father has come from the village to Lagos after he heard what his daughter did.

Jobs/Vacancies / Shock As Globacom Allegedly Fires 90 Married Women by KNEO777: 7:59pm On Mar 10, 2018
A former staff of Globacom has reported that she and about 90 other women were fired because they are married.
According to her, they were laid of because their Boss, Mike Adenoma doesn’t want married women in the company and they were fired without any form of compensation.

Read her story below:

I received a rude shock from the company I have served deligently for 13years yesterday.

I, alongside almost 90 other married women were laid off simply because we are married and Dr. Mike Adenuga does not want any married woman in Globacom (Gloworld friendship centre).

I was laid off a company I dedicated my time & energy to, working tirelessly and always dedicated to my job giving my 200%. My family & friends would always say if I had a cut, my blood will be "green".

Some of you would wonder what I was doing in Globacom for 13 good years, I will give you an insight of my story.

I joined the company a vibrant 22year old, freshly out of school graduate. I have worked with dedication, total commitment and loyalty.

I can convinietly say I rose through the ladder being an outstanding staff and got whatever due given to such persons.

Not a single one of the several bosses I have worked with can give negative report about me. I have trained several staff on the job and can proudly say that i was a good leader as I was a follower.

So yes, I was not stagnant (considering that the company has no coherent organizational structure) and had every reason to believe that hard work & dedication pays until Globacom said otherwise.

We were replaced with males (some of whom have not earned the positions) single ladies (who have neither earned nor have any knowledge about the job) and newly recruited staff who are by the way poorly paid all in a bid to get rid of us.

How can experience be thrown away because of a so called new structure? How does a marital blessing with the gift of children suddenly become a dissabilty to work?

I'm not certain there is anyone that wishes for their child, sister, friend or even herself to be unmarried and not have children. This act is a discrimination against gender and human rights to work.

We were laid off with absolutely nothing in form of compensation for what they have done! We were used and thrown away with only one month salary in lieu which they promised to pay yesterday but have obviously failed to as usual.

It is only in Globacom that such injustice can be done & feel "they" will get away with it. Please we need justice over the matter, kindly forward to as many of your contacts until justice prevails, this cannot be swept under the carpet! Thank you.

Health / JSS Student Who Took 10 Tablets Of Tramadol Dies In Abia by KNEO777: 12:04pm On Mar 08, 2018
A Junior Secondary School pupil at Ohafia in Arochukwu Local Government of Abia State has reportedly died after consuming 10 tablets of Tramadol.

This statement was made by the Commandant of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Mr. Akindele Akingbade.

Mr. Akindele Akingbade. who spoke in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, while delivering a lecture at a seminar NDLEA and Office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Narcotics and Abia State Drug Abuse Control Committee (ADCC) organised for patent medicine dealers.

The Nation reports that Akingbade mentioned in his lecture that the pupil was alleged to have taken the Tramadol tablets to enhance his performance during an inter-house sports competition in his school.

He was said to have died shortly after taking the drugs.

The NDLEA boss, who said Abia was among the states with a high level of drug/substance abuse, added that the governor had been informed about the incident.

He said efforts were being made to apprehend the seller as directed by the governor.

Akingbade advised patent medicine dealers to desist from selling drugs without prescription by doctors or pharmacists.

He attributed the high rate of crimes, including robbery, rape, kidnapping and others to the effect of drugs.

Akingbade said besides the agency’s resolve to take the awareness campaign against selling of harmful drugs to the abusers, they (NDLEA) had begun encouraging schools to establish Drug Free Clubs, to discourage pupils from taking drugs.

The Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Ministry of Health and Chairman, ADCC, Chief Chimezie Uzuegbu, as well as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ikpeazu, David Anyanwu, hailed NDLEA for its efforts in curbing drug abuse.

The rate at which young people consume the banned drug is quite alarming. Another man was reported to have lost his sanity after consuming 7 tablets Tramdol in Lagos yesterday.

His friends who noticed his unusual behaviour immediately tied him up before administering first aid treatments on him.

Crime / ‘I Joined Fraudsters Because I Was Defrauded’: 45-year-old Mother Of 5 by KNEO777: 10:28am On Mar 08, 2018
A 45-year-old mother of five, Ashile Basirat, paraded by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly conspiring with robbers to dupe passengers in Abeokuta, says she joined the act of duping people because she had once been a victim.

According to Ashile Basirat, her children had advised her to stop the illicit business, but her venture into trade did not yield the desired profit, making her continue her illicit business.

Also paraded was a retired military officer, Ali Audu, arrested for impersonation and using military uniform to extort motorists, who said he did so “to keep body and soul together after his retirement.”

The Police Commissioner in Ogun state, Ahmed Iliyasu, paraded Basira alongside Audu and 31 other suspects for various offences at the Eleweran Police headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The Police boss said Basirat, a suspected member of a fraud syndicate, engaged in fooling unsuspecting passengers by hypnotising them, take them to the nearest Automated Teller Machine, ATM, point to dispose them of cash.

Ilyasu said the syndicate specialised in driving commercial taxi cab, pretending to be drivers and simulated passengers to dupe the unsuspecting members of the public.

Other members of the syndicate are Leonard Ifeanyi, Tajudeen Erinosho and Ashimiyu Olaniyan.

Explaining how her gang operated before they were apprehended, Basirat claimed that her gang members act as passengers in a taxi, pretending to be waiting for one more passenger.

She said when the victim is found, they would tell him or her that there was money in the booth, which could not be spent because it was spiritually locked. She further explained that the victim would be persuaded to follow them to a priest and “he or she would be brought to me, while I pretend to be an Ifa priestess (Iya Alawo).”

She further disclosed that her victims are too numerous to count as she started the trade in 2011 after she was duped in 2010.

Politics / ‘How Angels Shielded Me From SARS’ — Dino Melaye by KNEO777: 7:37am On Mar 08, 2018
Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, says angels of the Lord rescued him from a high court in Abuja after operatives of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) attempted to arrest him.

On Thursday, the federal government arraigned the senator for allegedly framing Edward Onoja, chief of staff of Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, in an attempt on Melaye’s life.

The court granted Dino Melaye bail in sum of N100,000 but SARS operatives prevented him from leaving. The senator later snuck out of the court.

Speaking on the floor of the senate on Wednesday, Melaye expressed displeasure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he worked for took him to court.

“On the 1st of March, I was arraigned by the party I worked for. I was arraigned by the government I helped to install. I appeared before the court and I was granted bail,” he said.

“Having been granted bail, I was quickly alerted that there were over a hundred policemen from SARS outside the court waiting to arrest me. When they took pictures of them to come and show me, even if you were going for the head of Shekau, you wouldn’t have prepared any better.

I was in that court for hours and they laid siege for hours. Every car coming in and out of the court were being checked. Somehow because I serve a living God, the angels of the Lord took me out of that court unnoticed and unhurt. They laid siege for more than five hours after I was resting on my bed.

We have a convention in this country, that when security agencies are interested in interrogating, investigating and inviting any senator, they write the senate president to provide such senator. Why would they demean the integrity of the senate, and lay siege on a senator of the Federal Republic as if you want to arrest a common criminal.”

Dino Melaye also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency in Kogi state.

The senator said this would serve as “deterrence to other governors who think power starts and ends with them.”

Health / Death Toll From Lassa Fever Outbreak Rises To 110 by KNEO777: 6:45pm On Mar 07, 2018
110 persons have been confirmed dead since the outbreak of the deadly Lassa fever in Nigeria this year. This is according to the latest report from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

“Since the onset of the 2018 outbreak, there have been 110 deaths: 78 in positive-confirmed cases, 8 in probable cases and 24 in negative cases,” the NCDC said in its latest report.

The report states that Lassa fever cases have been reported in 18 states while 16 health workers had been affected in six states.

Lassa fever belongs to the same family as Marburg and Ebola, two deadly viruses that lead to infections with fever, vomiting and in worst-case scenarios, haemorrhagic bleeding. The name comes from the town of Lassa in northern Nigeria where it was first identified in 1969.

The virus is spread through contact with food or household items contaminated with rats’ urine or faeces or after coming into direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person.

Avoid eating contaminated foods, foods that rodents have touched and above all keep your environment neat.

Also avoid completely people that may be suffering from Lassa Fever.

Celebrities / OAP Sensei Uche Battling With Cancer, Pens Touching Letter To Yusuf Buhari by KNEO777: 8:04am On Mar 02, 2018
Nigerian OAP, Sensei Uche, who is currently undergoing Cancer Chemotherapy, after he was diagnosed with a stage 3 nasal lymphoma, has taken to Instagram to write an open letter to Yusuf Buhari, President Buhari’s son who just returned from Germany where he went to get treatment following the accident he had.

According to Sensei Uche whose treatment is currently taken care of from donations, Yusuf Buhari’s treatment, Visa logistics, funds and family support were all taken care of, off the table because of his status as the ‘First Son’ of Nigeria.

Here’s his letter below;

A Letter To Yusuf Buhari (Part 1)

Hello Yusuf,
I write this letter as a brother and Nigerian, hoping that your recent experience has given you more insight, empathy and strength to look beyond yourself and live for the greater good of humanity.
Welcome back home brother. Thank God for granting you good health and more years on earth.

As I think about what led to your accident, I realise that the desire to live to the fullest, is something we both share. Power bike riding is an exciting pass time. And racing on a power bike, (laughs) you’re either an adrenaline junky or just down right crazy to do such. I too look forward to a day I ride my bike across cities and towns in Nigeria.

I’m currently in Istanbul receiving radiotherapy treatment for a malignant tumour discovered in my nasal region last year. And it’s going well thank God.

Now here’s why I’m writing you this letter.

Note, what I’m about to point out is not your doing, just the way life designed our paths. So take no offence or feel guilt from it. Just know that there comes a time life teaches us lessons that will benefit the world we live in.

You had the best medical care available to you in Nigeria when you had your accident. A team of some the best medical practitioners and minds in the country at your bedside.

I am lucky to have had the tumour identified after months of test in clinics and hospitals. Of which I was told I had nothing more than an infection.

You were flown out of the country as soon as you were stabilised, because the doctors I assume didn’t have the equiments and technology to continue with treatment. And note that the logistics of visa, funds and family support were all taken care off the table because of your status as the ‘First Son’ of Nigeria. I assume again that you had aides travel with you. All to make certain that your stay outside the country be comfortable and stress .

After my tumour was diagnosed malignant thank God, I spent four months of more test and scans to come up with the best form of treatment. Receiving two sessions of chemotherapy which turned out to be ineffective. And later resorted to crowd funding from Nigerians, which helped me get out of the country for better care. But like everyone going out of the country I had to go through the process of visa application in my critical state.

I could only afford to have a friend travel with me. He put his life on pause for a month to help me settle into the system.
We are lucky Yusuf. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of Nigerians who are not as fortunate as us.

They have died from ailments far less life threatening. All because they can’t afford the care and the lack of available medical facilities for treatment.

They deserve the best medical care as Nigerians. Because they live in a land blessed with wealth and resources beyond imagination. Something I’m sure you’re benefiting from.

I believe we should all benefit from the resources our country is blessed with. And tribe, language, religion and social standing mean nothing to me when it comes to this notion. I strongly hope you share my sentiments as the first son of Nigeria.

I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.

The words of your father, my president. Words that meant so much to me as I watched your father being sworn in as the fourth democratically elected president of Nigeria.
The people of Nigeria are in need of a leader that will create the opportunities needed to make their lives better.

You know this Yusuf. If you don’t, put on a disguise and go on a nationwide tour to see for yourself. And maybe, just maybe we can start to make the pledge a reality.

I look forward to meeting you, so we can sit down and plot a path to greatness for Nigeria by sharing ideas.
God bless you, and may God bless Nigeria.

Politics / ‘prepare Very Well, 2019 Elections Will Be Very Hard’- Buhari To APC Leaders by KNEO777: 10:23am On Feb 27, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Monday asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to prepare for the 2019 elections.

Buhari said this when he hosted top members of the party at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He thanked his party men for standing by him despite the “antics of the opposition”.

“I must heartily thank the party officials and members for the successes we have achieved in the 2015 elections in securing majority of the states, majority in the national assembly and majority in the state assemblies,” he said.

“We must remember that this resounding success would not have been achieved without the unity of purpose we exhibited in challenging and defeating an incumbent government.

“Those outstanding successes would not have been possible without your hard work, dedication, and above all, sacrifice. I wish to individually and collectively thank you all sincerely for believing in me and remaining steadfast party members despite distractions and antics of the opposition. This unity and success are needed now more than ever, because elections are now looming.

“Now that INEC has come out with the timetable for elections in 2019, the party should prepare itself for congresses at A. Wards, B. Local Governments, C. States and D. Centre.

“We should strictly follow the constitution of the Party in undertaking these party elections. We should ensure internal democracy and avoid short cuts and illegal maneuvers which have characterized the opposition party with the consequences that they are now divided.

“The APC has a history of conducting free and fair primaries whenever consensus about any candidacy is not reached. Regardless of the outcomes of the primary processes, it is imperative that we all work together to ensure the victory of our party,” he noted.

Buhari said his administration had been able to introduce some reforms, accusing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of mismanaging the resources of the country.

“I must state at the outset that to succeed we must in all our actions and decisions follow strictly the constitution of our party. It is easy to forget that we succeeded a government with a record of unprecedented theft and systematic mismanagement.

“Nigeria was fast heading for a state of collapse. It is easy to forget the fuel subsidy fraud, arms fund diversion, depleted excess de Account savings, depleted foreign reserves, massive unpaid debts to contractors and suppliers amidst failure to invest or even maintain our infrastructure namely railways, roads, electricity, inspite of having earned over US$500 billion from Oil & Gas alone, during the 16 years of PDP rule.

“Lest we forget, we must always remind ourselves of the dire situation in which we came to office.

“Therefore we must not be shy in projecting our tremendous achievements from 2015 to date. The territorial integrity of Nigeria longer under threat. A number of security challenges still exist, but they exist in even the most well policed and well-secured countries. I am confident that the measures we are taking will tackle the acts of rural banditry, herdsmen/farmers conflicts, communal clashes, kidnappings and other crimes,” he added.

A Nigerian woman have been sent packing by her husband, alongside their kid over inability to bear a male child as reported by a social media user.

According to Prince Gwamnishu Harrison;

“TEARS SEEING MOTHER AND CHILD SLEEP IN FRONT OF BANK IN LAGOS.

Arrived Lagos State this morning at 2:07am and surprise to see a woman and her 10yr old daughter sleeping in front of a Bank.

I observed them from afar, came closer to avoid waking a mad woman. I woke them up and ask to know why they were sleeping in such a place.

she opened up and told me she has been sleeping there for two nights.

HER STORY

“Trouble started when my husband brought in a new wife because i couldn’t have a male child. Last week Saturday at about 1:00am, he woke me and my Daughter (Amara), told us to leave his house in presence of his new wife. I didn’t utter any word, no fight, he helped me parked my things out and that of my daughter. My luggage was much so I left some at the Security Post. I had nowhere to go at that godly hour except traveling back to Imo State but have no transport and even where to stay in Imo State”.

Her story touched my inner heart and gave out few Naira for her to transport herself back home. I would have love to see her husband but am not a marriage counselor.

Lagosians, her new home is Anthony Bus-Stop. Can we lift her burden?”
