Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Honours Oluwatosin Akinduro On U.S. Independence Day by kobikwelu(m): 5:43am On Jul 06, 2012
congrats to the dude...
my own is not about the citizenship as una dey drag.....

but the good thing is that the is that our name is not associated with fraud...and for once, we are being celebrated on the national stage...

besides, it is the same people that are here complaining why do we need the white man's approval, will be the same people that would complain about 419 ers tanishing our image to the outside world....

every day nigerians join the army and get citizenship, just 6 months ago, a friend of mine joined the reserves and still got his citizenship...and he is not scheduled to got to war till his contract expires...
anyways, you first need your green card before you can join the army...

it is not also blacks that jostle to join the army....europeans and mexicans all do too.

Celebrities / Re: Photos From Osaze Odemwingie's Wedding by kobikwelu(m): 3:13am On May 28, 2012
I really do not find it odd for Osazee to marry a white girl. Don't forget the mum is white and he is kind of use to the whiteman's attitude, gestures, sense of humour, simplicity and realness. So, he could be very easy for him to click with Sarah.

When you are used to white girls, it is kinda difficult to click it with black. They see things and behave differently!

"truest" talk...

Politics / Re: Lagos Set To Begin Second Light Rail Project by kobikwelu(m): 2:56am On May 28, 2012
i think my main concern (and i believe the majority of well meaning forum members) is.... HAVE THE FIRST RAIL PROJECT BEEN COMPLETED??

if no, why embark on another awarding phasehuh you could say that he means well by awarding this contracts so that the next goon that comes in dont scrape them..

but

if yes, where is the evidence??

Violent/Disgusting Non-Celebrity Crimes / Re: ;; by kobikwelu(m): 1:48am On May 16, 2012
truth is that every one in the US knows about identity fraud...the most guilty are the mexicans..half in florida are illegals, some part of the other half are using fake SSN....
every foreigner knows about the green card rule....marry an american and you'll be set .....i thought it was only africans that did this stuff till one young lady told me that a group of saudi's offered her 10K USD for marriage....i was shocked!!!!

abeg leave that thin joorrr..every country in the world envies the US and individuals dream about living over here.....
or should i give you examples of how kenyans are deported back to their home country from the kansas areahuh

stories full everywhere...

and FYI ..the guys responsible for SSN hacking are the indians and AMERICANS THEMSELVES who have access to their databases....Nigerian middlemen just buy the stuff off them...

stop staying Backhome in nigeria and spewing naive words.....

and for the nigerian man that denied his identity ...pity......in the end, all that matters is if you can prove yourselves....
nigerians get plum jobs over here ooo
check the texas and newjersey areas.....
the koko is ....if you are good and you have stuff to offer..you would get your good job....
DO NOT Bleep UP AND YOU WOULD BE FINE....stay off shady characters and so called "brothers and sisters"..who will just take advantage of you and land you in trouble

and for the dude whose boss harasses him...
i but wonder what kind of professional boss would do such thing...
if you are legally in the United States..why dont you sue his Bottom for harrassment??
except maybe you aint telling us the full story....

if anyone confronts me with the nigerian bad records line, all i say is the fact that there are bad eggs in every country
and ensure i prove my self in a professional manner....CHIKENA
you'll be fine
NYSC / Re: 'Nigeria Is Cash-strapped,Cant Pay Monthly State Allocations& NYSC Allowance' by kobikwelu(m): 6:31pm On May 15, 2012
and this story is from "sahara reporters"

all i can say is rumour!!!

the only way to discredit a government is spread panic through the media....

and by-the-way, jona is not responsible for depleting our reserves...ITS OUR STATES AND THEIR GOVERNMENT ALLOCATIONS!!!!

even if more money is comming in from subsidy halving and tariffs, all it means is the states recieve more!!!

Education / Re: Survey: Nigerians Most Educated In The U.S! by kobikwelu(m): 6:32am On Apr 10, 2012
Those degree are meaningless.

Nigerians with their emphasis on degrees. It's not the degree that matters, but your personality and what you know and can do.

With all those degrees, what have they done? My brother has a PhD from Texas A & M but getting 90K USD per annum while his younger bro with just a BSc from Canada is banking over 150K CAD per annum. Mind you, Canadian dollars is worth more than US currently.

Fiuck all those advanced degrees and go get yourself some skill that sell. Or better, start your own startup. You will make more than being employed by silly Multinationals who don't have your best interest at heart.

errrrr..just asking about the boldened part...why would your brother jack book till PHD....only to go and work in a company....waste if you ask me.....

corroborating your arguement...the saying ...your degree is what you make of it....is very very true...ive seen guys with associate degree(nigeria's HND equivalent) go on to earn more that a BSC holder...its all about location, bargaining power and your skill set.......BE PROACTIVE IN SCHOOL.....PAY ATTENTION TO PROJECTS IN YOUR COURSES AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU CAN USE TO BARGAIN FOR A BETTER SALARY....ALSO BUILD UP YOUR CHARISMA AND OUTLOOK OF CONFIDENCE...THOSE STUFF WORKS WONDERS IN MANAGERS (and chicks tooo)
Education / Re: Survey: Nigerians Most Educated In The U.S! by kobikwelu(m): 6:26am On Apr 10, 2012
addressing some of the issues raised.....

firstly, if you are an immigrant in the united states or any country in the west (and if by mistake you come b black man) the odds are highly stacked against you.....you have to prove your self at every point....even to an illiterate white man.....due to some backward negative stereotypes about how dum a black man can be you just have to prove your self....
also what do you expecthuh!! you are an immigrant in a foreign land ...you dont think they would welcome you like jesus was welcomed into jerusalem?? the united states ecomomy is tanking fast and the locals are blaming immigrants, soooo dont expect to get choosen over a local when it comes to job interviews, except the job you are looking for is suited for internationals...

secondly....the general mindset is a black man is a black man...forget all that talk of african-american and african......that is why the news hardly get reported of our exploits....but of comfort is the fact that in schools here, you see nigerians, Ghanians, congolese and kenyans (like my school)doing their thing in highly specialized courses....(a thing of joy).

IMHO the key is ..DO NOT CONFORM TO THEIR STEREOTYPE ABOUT YOU AND THEN SLOWLY YOU WOULD BE ACCEPTED INTO POSITIONS OF TRUST......

by the way, i no blame them sef...we all have stereotypes about our fellow nigerians....soo who is without sin, cast the first stone

Sports / Re: What Are The Ingredients To Fix The Super Eagles? [serious Matter] by kobikwelu(m): 1:42am On Mar 02, 2012
we need to change the structure of our football system,

firstly, we need a coach with a 10 year plan, WHO MUST BE APPOINTED BY A TASK FORCE OF PEOPLE THAT UNDERSTANDS FOOTBALL (PLAYED FOOTBALL AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OOO, NOT THESE OUR LOCAL CHAMPIONS)
who would know a coach that has a good blueprint to save our football. one who would create a link generations in our football. NOT JUST HIRING A COACH TO HELP US WIN, BUT ONE WHO WOULD HELP US BUILD A LASTING TEAM (one who would scout for talent and promote to the national team) .
ONE OF THE CAUSE OF OUR FOOTBALLING PROBLEM IS AFTER CLEMENS LEFT, THERE WAS NO COACH WHO CREATED A LINK AND EVER SINCE THEN ALL COACHES WERE HIRED TO WIN AND AFTER THEY LEFT, OUR TEAM WAS WORSE OFF

we need a long term solution. i am prepared to perform badly in the next 2 world cup inorder to achieve in the future

looking and laffing at these comments, i cant but wonder if our journalists went to a special school, cos i read the new york times, washington post and the guardian, and i dont see these sensational phrases,

but if you pick thisday, punch, daily independent , or any nigerian newspaper, the chances are 2 : 1 that you would come across these phrases,

and the most baffling thing is , they re-use these phrases like no -man's business
