Politics / Re: Evacuation Of Cargoes By Rail From Seaports Begins Soon by kshow1(m): 7:39am On Jul 22, 2013
ZACHIE: That rail line runs from APMT to Apapa railway yard. for now.
A distance of not more than 4kms.
What APMT has demonstrated is their readiness to do business if only the thickheads up above in ABJ will play ball.

What kind of cargo movement are talking about her?

Transfers to terminals or fully cleared goods? Apparenetly, that had not been fully addressed.
For one, fully cleared goods will not fit the dynamics of Customs operations in the port as presently constituted
So, you must be talking of transfers to terminals.

Which terminal in the whole of Lagos has the facility to receive trains, apart from Lilypond?
Even Lilypond rail lines have been laid dormant for a long time.
At best, the APMT rail project can be useful for movement of containers with the port apron areas alone.
Positioning containers for examination and return
Moving containers from ship sides to the port stacking area,
loading of empty containers for evacuation
and sundry tasks within the port area.
It is no time for jubilation and stupid praise singing
GEJ is still sleeping. Most of the things he is laying claims to are products of OBJ foresight, including this one.
It takes huge courage to subdue the NAtional Assembly to get these laws passed.
Does GEJ have the courage?

PERIOD......... This project will not in any ways reduce truck movement within Apapa vicinity cos they are still the ones to haul the containers away from Lilypond,Fivestar,TICT,Grimaldi etc

Let me just try and believe that it is IGNORANCE on your part,so let me give you some education

1) Ave you not heard about Lagos-Kano rail line which is currently operational, PH-Maidugiri rail line which is undergoing rehabilitation,Abuja-Kaduna standard guage line under construction?

2)if you read comments here you would have seen @naptu say dis
".......Apapa → Ijora → Iddo where it links up with the main line (to Kano)..."

3) for the fact that these rail lines as stated in (1) above are working...certainly there are terminals
You are the one that is Educationally Retarded.....
i said major cities (akure, jalingo, Gombe, abakaliki etc)
It is not only Apapa port that is functional there are several other ports that cargo ships berth with no rail-line.
TERMINAL in my post means a place where containers are offloaded and stored NOT railway terminals.

People should stop praising all these white elephant projects.
Lets all look for answers to the following questions.
1. Have we seen any major rail line leading to major cities in the country ?
2. What is the destination point of these project ? Apapa port to ?? (please also note that we have several ports of discharge i.e Apapa,Tincan,Five star,Grimaldi etc
3. Are there any terminals in the major cities to accommodate the containers from the port ?

If we cant readily get answers to the above questions, So how will goods be transported to these cities since we all know our nation is import-dependence.

sam(obo):

DID OUR PAST LEADERS BELIEVED IN ONE NIGERIA ?, HEAR WHAT THEY SAID;

Obafemi Awolowo: We do not believe in one Nigeria;"Nigeria is a mere geographical expression ".

Sir Ahmadu Bello, " We do not beleive in the contraption called Nigeria; The amalgamation of Nothern and Southern Nigeria by the British colonialists was a mistake "

Dr.Nnamdi Azikiwe : “if because I am an instrument of destiny through which imperialism in West Africa is to be challenged and liquidated, and if in this mission I am compelled to pay the supreme penalty, then there is no need for me to quake or to quiver. I am becoming convinced day by day that the New Africa is destined to become a reality. No force under the heavens can stem it. Even my death cannot postpone its crystallization"

His vision and strong belief in one united Nigeria was unmitigated and unmatched. Thus, while some of his contemporaries were content creating impregnable regional bases, Zik pursued a pan Nigerian constituency. From every stretch of calculation, Zik is decidedly the father of Nigeria" .

Has Zik's dream remained an illussion ?

TWO- THIRD IS A MAJORITY

So what are we waiting for ??

Politics / Re: Fraudulent Amalgamation Of 1914: Sovereign National Conference Is The Way To Go by kshow1(m): 12:24pm On Feb 17, 2012
kosovo:

As the self acclaimed giant of Africa continues to grasp for breath under this fraudulent amalgamation of 1914, it becomes imperative to cross-check the foundation on which Nigeria was built.

With the continuous bombings of Haram, compounded by the prevalent national confusion that has be-deviled an already derailed society, one needs not to be told that dooms days looms. Visionary advocates saw the perils of One Nigeria and warned, Ojukwu saw and warned, Gaddaffi saw and warned, he even suggested a solution to this " mis-configuration" of over 400 ethnic groups, instead he was called a madman, by those who pretend to represent the interest of the common man, while in reality, they represent their kleptomania and cacoethes desires.

Those who are yet to understand the fraud behind the amalgamation will continue screaming for One Nigeria. As for the sane and lucid mind(s) , the fraud behind the amalgamation has since be unveiled, hence ,we must prevent the continuation of our forefathers' mistakes, who were deceived under duress to sign this unholy matrimony and falsehood agreement of southern and northern protectorates in 1914. History has it, that the said agreement was even signed at the dead hours of the night. With this nocturnal agreement as a foundation for nationhood, one needs not to be told the reasons behind the collapse of the self acclaimed giant of Africa. As for the wise, a word is enough.

Thank you my brother , i have once said and will continue saying " There is no way NGOZI, AMINAT AND IYABO can be sisters"

I TESTIFY TO THE ABOVE. I spent 3 month in Libya in 2003, the experience was unforgettable.  I wonder what went wrong with him.
Libyans wanted a change in leadership after ruling for so long.

deco2come:

If these are all true, why would Libyans still want him to withdraw. Am I missing something here. I haven't seen anywhere in the world that has such benefits. Can someone tell me if this really true.

If these are true, believe me most embassies in Nigeria will be looking for marketing manager to market their visa

Ghadafi's major problem was that he was sponsoring terrorism.
