Politics / Re: Boko-Haram Stole Over N200M From Banks In Daura Attack by Maranzano(m): 1:00am On May 18
Stealing from the people to fund their bloody mission. I hope this Robin Hood style will not turn the north to another Somalia. For the elders up north who chose to play politics with BH maybe the chicken is coming home to roost.Stray bullet from these marauders neither respects religion nor grey hair. There is still time to condem evil and liberate ur soul before it is too late.

Health / Re: The Menace Of Sepe, Agbo-Jedi: Pile Herbal-Medicine by Maranzano(m): 10:59pm On Apr 19
Drug addicts always have reasons to justify their habits.I do not doubt the efficacy of some herbal medicine taken at the prescribed dosage but most of these alcohol based drugs are just another way of adding flavour to their Kai kai. Alcohol reduces the absorption of antibiotics in the body yet many are gradually poisoning their kidney and liver thinking they are helping themselves.

GoodSamaritan:

Yes o! If it happened on FG road, shame on GEJ. But if it happened on State road, it is well deserved, nothing like sorry to him...lol...yes
Your concern was the road and who to blame but no sympathy for him. God saved his life to continue his good leadership to the state and humanity. He is doing well in building Orlu roads. You spoke as if u came from Mars. Pray that ur day of trial will not be ur last. Owelle does not need ur sympathy cos it is worthless.

....The fact is that Okorosha will not make it as a gov till 2015. His own impeachment or removal is just around the corner so far the presidency is weighing into it coupled with heavy weights as Emeka Offor.
Your obsession to PDP is affecting your understanding of good governance.Your presidency and Emeka Offor cannot change the collective will of Imo people.Imo has been rescued from the fraudsters whose mission was to decieve and impoverish. The people are wiser now

Politics / Re: Sam Omatseye, Under-Fire For Column On Achebe by Maranzano(m): 3:03pm On Apr 08
Omatseyes criticism of Things Fall Apart and the late Achebe is a futile attempt to belittle a literary icon whose fame is global. Mr Sams degree in journalism is questionable without imputs from the works of Achebe. Achebe told the AFrican story to the world in more than 150 languages while Mr Sams mother sang lullabys to the little Sam which he compares to Achebes Things Fall Apart now as an adult. Achebes greatness does not depend on bigots like Mr Sam.

Politics / Re: Okorocha Nominates Madumere As Imo Deputy-Governor by Maranzano(m): 11:11pm On Mar 28
Every politician has supporters who follow him or her for various reasons. Some followers are intelligent enough to ask questions on our collective paternity while others can trade their family inheritance and even mortgage their lifes future of their children for peanuts or nothing. This attitude of HE WHO IS NOT GUILTY SHOULD CAST THE FIRST STONE will never help the fight against corruption in our land. Those who ve agreed on how to share power in Imo State just decieved themselves.

Pls do not decieve gullible minds in this forum. Dont allow political sentiments to becloud your sense of reasoning.Gombe and Bauchi combined is almost d size of all d SE in landmass.

This is a great feat by the GIANTS. I salute the students who represented for their hardwork. Kudos to Prof Onwuemesi and other lecturers who coached them on the use of Petrel. This is a cheerful news from Nigeria in recent times. The team deserves something from the Alumini. The world await your conquest. We hail the African Geoscience reps. Unizik my Unizik!
Politics / Re: Nigeria Can’t Meet Vision 20-20 Target, Says UNIDO by Maranzano(m): 4:31pm On Oct 20, 2012
Vission 202020 is not attainable at the rate we are going. We are good at formulating laudable policies but we seem to forget that consistency is important in pushing the polices through. We had HOUSE FOR ALL BY THE YEAR 2000, CLOTH, FREE MEDICARE,EVERYTHING FOR ALL BY THE YEAR 2000 12 years later we are still waiting for the fulfilment of govt promises. There isno need comparing ourselves with those who ve the necessary incentives for development in place. Ther is no power to sustain local production here, we dont have a functional steel plant that is the backbone of industrialisation in the western world. Just like year 2000, 2020 will soon be here.
Romance / Re: Single Vs Dating: Who Is Happier? by Maranzano(m): 5:21pm On Oct 11, 2012
Single or dating, happiness is a choice by any indvidual at any circumstace. It is also relative depending on ones sense of values. What makes some people happy may be a source of pain to others for instance a robber and his victim. Just ensure that your source of Happiness glorifies God and does not harm those around you.

Politics / Re: Efik, Southern Cameroon Consider Forming A Republic - Obong by Maranzano(m): 4:54pm On Oct 11, 2012
I really feel for the Bakassi people whose rights of citizenship and cultural heritage was traded by the colonial masters and later the Gowon administration during the civil war. I sincerely hope that Gowon will tell Nigerians how Bakassi was lost to Cameroun at ICJ in his Civil war memoirs someday. Hasty decisions are made in war times to achieve victory but the consequences may leave an indelible mark in the memory ever after. Bakassi is an example.

[quote author=Galaxydon1]All there that are happening to nigeria are signs of a bad leader. Goodluck brought badlock to nigerians. Its a pity. He should die and go. Multitude cant die cos of a single man.[/quote

The president neither caused the flooding nor climate change. Your blind hatred for him is seriously affecting your reasoning .It was very easy for you to wish a man dead. I hope you will inherit his home and rename his kids.Absolute freedom of speech may confine you in a cell.
Romance / Re: How Do You Deal With Anger Issues. by Maranzano(m): 5:57am On Oct 10, 2012
Kudos to all that commented on this thread and the poster for your sincerity.ANGER is an emotion that can destoy if not checked.Everyone gets angry but the response and duration in that high energy state makes the difference.Leaving the scene of agitation is not cowardice if you cannot control it anymore. When a man conquers his anger, he becomes the master of his emotions.
Politics / Re: Flood In Imo Kill 2 & Displaced 8000 by Maranzano(m): 5:02am On Oct 10, 2012
It is really sad to hear that Oguta and environs are affected by this flood disaster. The terrain is generally low lying susceptible to rapid overflow when the Blue lake and Urashi river increase in volume. Network of smaller rivers that drain the landmass will not help matters but govt and the Oil companies in the affected areas can restore the hope of the people by the provision of relief materials and relocation of endagered villages. Flood of this magnitude cannot be prevented but can be managed.
Politics / Re: President Jonathan's Speech On Recent Floods Experienced by Maranzano(m): 11:58am On Oct 09, 2012
The President's broadcast is a step in the right direction. I hope that the funds allocated to ministries, agencies and committees will be judiciously used to ameliorate the suffering of the flood victims. It would ve been termed insensitivity if he had allowed Maku or Iweala to address nigerians on this issue.Obama addressed Americans when wildfire ravaged one of the states in the US. Any good move by the leadership should be commended. Spectators are always the best players that didnt get a chance.

truth4meal: Same way biafran soldiers stole from the masses during the civil war - typical vice of an average igbo man. In d stead of guarding against acts like dis in their hometown they are preoccupied with falled attempts to smear the name of Tinubu or fight for the ownership of Lagos - and now blaming Awo for the sins of their leaders...its no news igbos always steal from their poor

If a fool keeps mute, it could be counted for him as wisdom. Xenophobia is growing in NL.
Politics / Re: President Jonathan Visits Patience In Germany by Maranzano(m): 6:08pm On Oct 08, 2012
I was glad to see the first lady on NTA with her husband yesterday. People should eschew politics of bitterness and sadism. Some people in this forum will incur the wrath of God because of GEJ and his wife.Words are like bullets once they leave the gun, they no longer belong to the hunter. People should think before they type. The president is answerable to the electorate and God but has a responsibility and privacy as a husband and father, his position notwithstanding. Criticise constructively.

Do not laugh at another man's tragedy because you dont know what tomorrow holds for you. If you ve no sympathy for the victims then relax in your haven and dont insult the sensibility of others.Natural disaster comes in many forms. You must ve commented from heaven.
Politics / Re: Women In Abuja Are Not Safe – Dorothy Njemanze by Maranzano(m): 7:27pm On Oct 02, 2012
It is a pity if the lady was assaulted by law enforcement agents. This post is her side of the story. I hope her approach, dressing and attitude did not contribute to her experiece. It is impossible to distinguish a LovePeddler from a non prostitute by dressing nowadays. More innocent ladies may be victims if dress code is the yardstick used by the task force on prostitution in Abuja. Some overzealous men on uniform should also learn the ethics of law enforcement.
Politics / Re: Bomb Blast At A Catholic Church In Bauchi by Maranzano(m): 12:34pm On Sep 23, 2012
Those who fight to defend their religion are either serving a weak god that cannot defend itself or feign ignorance of the truth that will set them free from their spiritual bondage. The persecution of the church in the north is strengthening the faith of the christians. Any religion dorminated by ignorant followers can easily be manipulated for violence. Peace is not just in greeting. it should be demonstrated in tolerance of other faiths.

Politics / Re: AIT Yanks Atiku Off The Air At Leadership Newspaper Award. by Maranzano(m): 12:16am On Sep 19, 2012
Atiku did not support Ekwueme's position in 1995. He rejected him in Jos PDP primaries in 1999 and suddenly realised in 2012 that he was wrong.Atiku can say anything that appeals to most Nigerians to discredit GEJ to enhance his chances to power again. I pity those who bother themselves with a politician's speech. Scholars are paid well to tell Nigerians in writing what they want to hear on their behalf. Rate a politician by what he did while in power than what he says when he has left the stage.
Politics / Re: Governor Peter Obi Defend His Goverment Over Nasir El Rufai Accusations by Maranzano(m): 7:49pm On Jun 20, 2012
Mr El-Rufai should clear his name on his dealings as former FCT minister before he looks for budgets to analyse. The way he allocated, revocked and re-allocated lands in the FCT is still generating ripples.Let him keep on campaigning for 2015 through his criticisms, he is surely not one of the options to be considered come 2015. Let him recommend his economic blueprint to his brothers up north whose poverty and illitracy statistics is embarrasing the nation. I expect him to be focus on the security situation in his home state and comment on the mayhem unleased to christians in his homestate, Kaduna. Anambra is better off without his biased analysis.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Finally Resumes Industrial Commercial Coal Mining by Maranzano(m): 11:55pm On May 24, 2012
Energy from Coal will suppliment the current hydroelectricity and the expected addition from the gas plants. However we should not shout eureka yet untill power generation improves as a result of the "proposed" resumption of comercial coal mining. The Chinese and Indians are highly interested in Nigerian coal to meet their insatiable energy needs. They are relying on advanced mining technologies to work their coal mines which are often associated with methane gas explotion. They need safer and cheaper energy sources and if the grade of our coal is right, these coal briquettes might be on their way to Asian furnace. The Energy sector in Nigeria is so viable that if appropriate legislation put in place and there is relative peace to ensure the security of investment, genuine investors will invest in Nigerian coal for local power generation.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Rate Mikel Obi's Performance In The Champions League Final by Maranzano(m): 1:12pm On May 20, 2012
Obi played very well. He worked so hard in winning the ball and spreading the passes. He is a fantastic player but in football, the goal scorers grab the headlines and win the awards. Didier Drogba has demonstrated that he is the most reliable striker to depend on when it matters most. Credit should be given to the entire Chelsea defence line for withstanding the attacking onslaugth of the Bavarians. It was a sweet victory for Chelsea after several attempts in the past. Blue is the colour of Europeean football for the next one year. Savour your victory guys, many did not give you any chance to win.

Politics / Re: Fashola Renews Call For State Police by Maranzano(m): 11:11pm On May 18, 2012
Gov. Fashola's call for state police is an opinion strongly supported in many quarters. A well trained, well equipped and well remunerated police force enforcing laws that do not often contradict themselves or create avenues for corruption will always do well weither it is a state or federal police force. The peculiar religious and ethnic sentiments in Nigeria, the complex nature of our constitution and corruption has made many believe that we will fare better if each state has its police. Many states are multi-ethnic and have their challenges also. I think we need to critically look at this "UNIFYING DOCUMENT" called the constitution and amend it without ethnic or religious bias. Empower the State governors to live up to the security challenges in their states. If these issues are not addressed, even if we creat tribal police, things might even get worse.
Politics / Re: Electricity Consumers To Get Free Prepaid Meters by Maranzano(m): 10:13pm On May 18, 2012
It would ve been a cheerful news to hear that the government will switch on some of the powerplants on or before June 1st to restore the confidence of the teaming populace in the power sector.Unlike fuel which has been imported for years now to meet national demands,it is not easy to award frivolous contracts on 'POWER IMPORTATION' from neighbouring countries since they depend on us for their power needs. If the power plants are not ready to add to the nations power generation before the stipulated date for the increase in tarrif, it will be another wrong policy by the govt to stretch the Nigerian worker beyond the limits of his income. People may be tempted to cut corners if they dont get value for their money.Nigerians ve paid for darkness for too long. It is time they got reward for their patience by steady power supply not in free meters that will not serve their purpose.
Politics / Re: Boko Haram: Gombe/jos/bauchi Division Commander An Igbo by Maranzano(m): 8:46pm On May 15, 2012
I hate to comment on tribally biased threads on NL but i noticed that this thread came up because of responses from the thread on the arrest of Mohammed Suleiman from Ogbomosho. It is ridiculous for someone to stir up such tribal sentiments on Nairaland by posting such falsehood on igbo son. The Igbos are known for their hardwork and enterpreneural spirit and not Islamic fundamentalism. There is no iorta of truth in that story and people should know that igbos are the most populous settlers in any state in Nigeria and are major stakeholders in the economies of the three states mentioned above. Religious fanaticism thrives in the minds of unenlightened and lazy beings who do not respect the sanctity of life. The Igbos are playiny a very importan role in curtailing the housa/fulani incursion in Jos thoday, ask any Berom, Anaguta or Jarawa tribesman in Jos today. It is amazing to think that an Igbo son will shed the blood of his kinsmen to fight the course of another tribe or religion. Islam is as alien in the east as it is common in the west and north. No Igbo son forgets his roots and background nomatter how long he stays in any locality. This is a fact and every Nigerian knows it.

Politics / Re: FG To Track Down Boko Haram With Satellites by Maranzano(m): 1:37pm On May 12, 2012
Security strategies to be adopted in the fight against terrorism is not for public discourse to score some cheap political points. If NASRDA is patnering with the security agencies to gather information on suspected terrorists hideouts using satelite imageries and Global Positioning Systems,it is a welcome developent but dislosing the war plans before you launch an attack is not a good millitary strategy unless you intend selling a dummy to your foes. Nigerians ve heard enough on the strategies, we want to see an end to this bloodleting in the North. Americans told the world "some" of the strategies they adopted to track and kill Obama AFTER the operation. IN GOD WE TRUST.
Politics / Re: Aregbesola Calls For Ministry Of Northern Affairs. by Maranzano(m): 10:59pm On May 11, 2012
The clamour for the creation of Ministry of Northern affairs by Aregbesola is a clear indication that his interest is in revenue sharing instead of revenue generation.Aregbe does not need a ministry for each clan in Osun before he delivers the dividends of democracy to them. Lack of conscious efforts by past leadership in the north to change their orientation towards western education is responsible for their seemingly backward status today. The high level of illiteracy emboldens the priviledged leaders to corner the commonwealth of the region to themselves and pacify the impverished Almajiris and Talakawas with their token of "benevolence" What the North needs now is a change in orientation to liberate the minds of many. The North has always spoken through one of her most eloquent;Dan Masanin Kano in matters like this, i dont know why it has to be Aregbe from the West that will solicit for this on their behalf.
