Career / Re: Am About To Resign Because Of My Boss Wickedness, harrassments And Embarassments! by missojugo(f): 5:41am On Feb 28, 2020
angryhumanbeing:
Good Day pals, please pardon all grammatical errors because I am very angry now as I write this.
I am a known person here but I decided to change my name.

I am a banker. I was working in bank X before i joined bank Y. I had wonderful experiences in bank X. I decided to join bank Y so as to have experience there too. But ever since I joined bank Y, it has been disaster working there from the very first day I entered there. The manager has been tormenting me from the very first day he sighted me. I dont know if we have struggled for a babe b4, i just dnt knw. I am a permanent staff but this man treats me like a cleaner. The time for us to be in the office is latest 7.20am but in my first week there, i came to work by 7.17am and this man was shoutn and embarrasing me outside the bank where customers queues up to withdraw from the atm. Dat was my first bitter encounter wit him. I was brought to the branch as Funds Transfer Officer but it took this manager a full month to create me as FTO. On my Third day on the job, He connived with another bad colleague and they pushed me to the atm as ATM Custodian. This I was doing with tears because this man was just making life unbearable for me by threatening me all the time. All the jobs in the branch was given to me to do except FTO jobs. He refused creatn me and even wen i was later created, he still refuse i work as FTO. Theres sometn called cashdrop box, and its meant for contract staff to work there but this man forced me to work there for even upto a month combined with atm custodian and other cash jobs while the other bad colleague walks around pressing fones and chattn. Later in November, the Area Manager visited and said i should be returned as FTO. Ever since then, this manager will pack other peoples job on me and be embarassing me in front of customers when I dnt finish them. Whenever I tried to complain, he will start shoutn and insultn me in front of customers. This has been happening for upto 5months now. I joined this particular bank in late August and by middle of september, 6 staff angrily left the branch because of this manager and his accomplices. By tomoro, another staff is leavn becos of constant quarell wit manager. The branch has been under wicked rule by this manager and the other bad colleague. For the past 5months I have been here, its been hell. I have reduced drastically in size. Even size 30 trousers are very loose on waist now becos of so much thinkn, insults and harrasments from this man.
I have planned to resign at the end of the month becos of the evil torture of this man and the other bad colleague. Please I need matured advices becos i am almost like a walking corpse. Each week i feel sick here. One sickness or the other.
Any day i remember i will go to dat office, my mind will be filled with sadness becos theres no single day this same man will nt harrass me.

Pls mods help me. I need advices and i have made up my mind to leavn here becos each day i see this man and the other bad man, i feel like shooting them to death becos as i speak nw, the other bad man does nothn in the branch. He only snaps pics, chat and walk around. He comes to work by 7.45am and the manager will nt say a word!

Pls mods help me do the needful. Thank you.

Don’t resign sometimes God uses people like this to push us forward. From what you have said you have inadvertently gathered over 1 or 2 years experience in less than 6 months! Can you imagine how full your CV will be when you update it Please DO NOT RESIGN! He will meet his Waterloo soon enough I promise you. Keep gathering experience and start applying for other jobs. Even let him add gateman job do it... You next interview you will woooow the panel with lots of “wonderful” stores to tell... Lastly please take care of yourself more, stop think about the idiot, eat more and try and make friends to cheer you up when you feel blue. This too shall pass I promise. DO NOT RESIGN HE IS NOT GOD!

Don't mind that sylly guy who wasted all his energy just to type rubbish, he hasn't even been there before. Just the usual bigotry.
I was in Kano on vacation last year. Of course, they are different because they have their culture just like everywhere else. But there are places you can live and work that are just like Lagos, PH or Ibadan.
I like the contrast. The level of enjoyment I experienced there passed all the ones I'd ever had here in Lagos .
Churches are plenty and fun. Transport fares are cheap. The hotel I stayed too, so I'm sure accommodation are cheaper.

Sounds quite nice. Thanks for responding.

Let your relationship revolves round work. Don't take it out to public places, especially their underdeveloped places. You know what i mean.. Don't be surprised that they have strip clubs in that state too. wink
You can find those type of establishments in their very developed areas like GRA etc.
I was with a lady some years back in Katsina state.. She wore short Jean (forgotten the name) while we were strolling, the kind of stares she got from the locals was dangerous.
Think Pakistan, Iran or Afghanistan.

Thanks

Go and buy plenty Burqa. Trust me, you'd need them. Learn how to speak hausa. Respect your host community by not following men up and down. If you like diick, I'm sorry to disappoint you, kano is not the right place. If you go out with any man that's not your family, hisbah police will arrest you, and you'd be flogged in public. You know what? Consider yourself moving to Afghanistan or Pakistan. Best of luck. May you see what you seek. Amin!

Thanks for responding. What if my team mates at work are all men? It is well

On Saturday, December 24, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that the last and most deadly stronghold of Boko Haram terrorists had been recaptured. The president said the terrorists were already on the run and had no place to hide. The Camp Zero was the last enclave of the terrorists to be recaptured.

Here are pictures showing soldiers in high spirits as men of the press conducted a tour of parts of the once dreaded Sambisa forest. A live interview with GOC 7 Div Brigadier General Victor Ezegwu, was also conducted by Aljazeera.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Am I Being Scammed? Please Advice! by missojugo(f): 9:09am On Nov 25, 2016
Sylver247:
Fellow Nairalanders, I am the op of the thread on "How have you been surviving without a job?"
I have a friend who works with Shell, hes actually a childhood friend we grew up together. We have been apart for long cos he works in Warri while I reside in Lagos.
Recently we hooked up again via Facebook and we got talking on phone about life and all. Told him my jobless situation and he got very concerned about my plight. He promised to do something about it cos I was very open with him, didn't hide or form. He requested for my CV which I quickly edited, refined and wired to his email. He said he would submit it to some senior people in Shell.

About a month later he called me and told me something has come up. That there is 6 a year contract job that will be coming up in October and that I need to acquire a particular training (HUET) without which I can't work in the upstream. He said its normally free but the man in charge of recruiting people said since am just a referral, I have to pay for the training. He said the training is 65k which I confirmed and its true.

Now he promised to pay part of the training fee (40k) for me and said I should take care of the remainder.
I trust this guy (he is my very good friend from same community) but you know people can change suddenly.

I just need advice from people who know about this kind of stuff, if its possible or not. Its small money (25k) but I wouldn't want to be scammed off the little money am surviving with as am currently managing myself. I don't even have the money now but I can run round and get it.
He told me they are waiting for Buhari to announce his cabinet before the project starts and that he will call me.

Please advice me should I give it a shot?

I know a man that lost his previous job, his current job pays him 20k.

He his married with 3 kids, 1 is in the university and the remaining 2 in secondary school.

And your friend want to reject a job of #80k...He is not serious @all undecided

You friend is a very wise man. Employers are more attracted to people that have a current job (no matter how poor the salary may be)compared to people that have not current job. Its just like some men who are drawn to beautiful ladies who have a boyfriend compared to a beautiful lady that is single.

The way some people take joy in 'announcing' bad news to the loved ones left behind is not good. Poor old father couldn't take it. Somebody will just call and shout ' Your son is dead oh, them don kill am ohhhhh)....I am not saying this is what happened in this case but i have seen and heard it happen. People should try and be tactical

Someone posted a video of a man having full blown sex with a dead goat while his counterpart was busy filming it was so disgusting and the image stuck in my head for days.....Of course i reported the video to Facebook and they wrote to me a few days later that the video has been taken down. Imagine how many young impressionable kids saw that video before it was taken down and how many have already started plotting their own escapades with the stray goat or ram in their neighbourhood........Soon people will start saying they have a right to chose their sex partners be it human or otherwise.

Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, in his memoir, ‘My Watch’, revealed his number of children in the order they were born. Of the highly-successful 20 children, 19 are biological, except Kunle, his nephew. According to Obasanjo, he adopted Kunle as his biological child "in every sense of the word to compensate for his mother being deprived of an education by our father".

Obasanjo further said in his memoir, "All my children are frightfully independent and self-assertive. I have started observing the same traits in their children, my grandchildren. In their different areas of endeavour, my children have all made a mark. Eight of them have acquired PhD degrees in their individual areas of learning.

"Almost all the others have one or two master’s degrees. Iyabo, who blazed the trail for all of them, needs to be commended for being a good example and loving big sister." As listed by the ex-president in his memoir, his children are Iyabo, Busola, Segun, Gbenga, Deboye, Bola, Kofo, Biyi, Seun, Bisoye, Olu, Dare, Funke, Damilola, Jonwo, Dayo, Funso, Toyosi, Bukola, and Kunle.”

Dear NairaLanders; I have an interview scheduled for 1st week of march. I really want to attend because I think the job has a wider range of opportunity to offer.

What to I tell my current employer? Where do I tell him am going to? What are the "scopes" being used for things like this?

"Please boss I need 1march off to attend to some personal issues"....Plain and simple.
Telling him you are going for a job interview is like telling your fiancee you are taking another woman out for lunch.
