Adamu ciroma stares on as Murtala intimates Obasanjo from a book in the 70's

The late Ciroma is Liman Ciroma (former secretary to the military government) not Adamu Ciroma

Just to express my displeasure, nothing more....... You have nothing to worry about if you are not from the Chief cabal's State. If they can cage the c in c, then there is nothing they can't do if they want to

It is from which state?

Is it really possible to edit after the application had been submitted?? I've been trying to do so but it's seeming like information cannot be edited but instead start up a new application from the front page. I need help please. anyone able to edit his application should please come to my aid. thanks

Your problem could be due to network. Have a place with good network and try again, you can edit your application and the initial data you used are supposed to be their not fresh data input.

Please what about the center number for NECO? There's only one number on my NECO cert which carries alphabets. The other number is the Cert Serial number. Now how can I differentiate Exam no from Center no?

Exam number is the one carrying alphabets in NECO (eight numbers plus two alphabets), while centre number carry only numbers (six numbers. e.g 030034)

how does the guideline of personal statement differ

The SOP requirements on the advert:
Reason why you want to undertake the study, relevant of the study to industry and its expected impact on national development. Maximum words 500.

In the application portal:

Nairalanders are funny. So you now think OP is in charge of the site or works with ptdf.

No, doesn't mean so. Just saying the site is going for those complaining it is not going. And am saying thank you to the OP because of the information he his giving only not that he works with PTDF. you can see his post in last year thread. he is last year PhD scholar
sorry no offence.

Guys, please I want to ask,pls what is the latest price for GRE presently in naira? And secondly,is it a must to get a WES evaluation of my transcript? cant i just upload my original transcript without evaluating anything?

The price of GRE is $200 convert it with the current exchange rate. But you can check BY Mafit they do it at #45000 including study materials, magoosh account and free lectures if you based in Lagos or Abuja. Or you can contact Ponpon here he also have a cheaper price with incentives too.

WES evaluation is usually not a must. you only do it if its going to give you an advantage (increase your cgpa) or your school require that. but check with the department if it is compulsory. unless don't waste your money.

MLDrima please don't feel bad. If I tell you what I scored doing the GRE twice then you would really praise yourself. The best of my two scores were not anywhere near yours. You can imagine that.

Thank you for the encouragement. and so sorry for your score. its really depressing to think of all the resources one put and ends with low score. I believe you will ace it this time. Just try and work on your weak areas.
cheers

I don't think an overall score of 308 is bad. Although, clocking 161 (roughly 80th percentile) in Quants would have bolstered your chances of admit.

I would advice you to apply but focus on making your SOP top-notch. You need to make the first paragraph catchy and captivating to the adcom. Another aspect is your referee but I can not guarantee you would get a very powerful recommendation from a Nigerian lecturer/professor. They just don't seem to be effusive and specific in their assessment. A bland recommendation would further reduce your chances. I would suggest you google up the specific requirement for reference for each school. Some schools honour reference letters from your boss at work (professional) or a mentor that can vouch about your ability to excel in graduate studies.

Also, if you haven't published any paper before please do, it speaks volume about your research experience. I have no idea how rich your esearch experience is. If you have any relevant work or research experience just focus on it in ur SOP and CV.

Lastly, take time to work on your CV. You can google sample of academic CV. Don't forget to include relevant research experience under its section as well as extracurricular activities.

If you haven't contacted POI then start right away. Send them a short introductory mail and an an attachment of your application materials. Merge all your documents into a single PDF file and your name_M.sc docs as title.

Why not apply for M.sc/PhD route. It's far more difficult getting funding for M.Sc than PhD especially in Houston. They have intimidating admission requirement for Environmental Engineering so I can imagine that of PE. I wish you all the best.

Thank you sir for the encouragement and wonderful advice.

I will go ahead and apply and will try to make my SOP a top notch that will supplement my weak points. I will also put on my best on the CV, though I don't have any experience. I just graduated last year.

Publishing a paper will be difficult for me now due to time constraints. but I will look into it, possibly my final year thesis.

I have started sorting out some faculty members with same research interest as mine. I want to look at their published papers before contacting them. I just hope there is no problem in contacting more than one within the same department at same time?

As for M Sc/PhD route, the truth is am not set for it now. I am not sure whether I can endure the PhD stress.
thanks once again

I have taken my GRE, but my result isn't encouraging. Sincerely I don't have anything to say to prospective test takers. everything have been said here, you just have to use your prepping time wisely, know your weaknesses and address them before the test day and take as many full length practice as you can.

With my score am now confused on the way forward. I don't want to spend the little money I have saved applying to schools and get rejected at last, better I use the money to register for another GRE. But that will lead my application to next year. something that I don't want. But if that is the wise thing to do. then I have no choice I will go for it.

My profile is:

Q-158
V- 150

Cgpa- 4.21/5.0
Undergraduate: PE

TOEFL: coming up 03 February

Applying for: PE, M Sc

Considering my score, I have sent the score to the following schools:

University of Houston
LSU
Missouri US&T
University of Louisiana Lafayette

Cc:
Scholastics 16

Happy day

Your advice will strongly be appreciated.
