Career / The Zenith Of Wickedness: My Zenith Bank Experience by modicum: 12:14pm On Nov 12, 2013
By Chris

Good day Sir, please I implore you to use the great effect you have, especially on social media to help bring attention to the victimization Zenith bank is subjecting us to.

I am too pained in my heart, to do a proper introduction of myself, so everyone reading this would have to forgive me for that. I am a young male, who unfortunately got employed by Zenith bank in 2012, when the bank decided to opt for contract staffing of fresh university graduates.

As unfortunate as the offer was, I had to take it believing that the exposure and the need to equip myself with a certain level of experience was far more important than being idle. My remuneration was pegged at 69,999 Naira a month. The responsibilities assigned to me were the same with other professional non-contract staff in the operations unit of my branch, who obviously enjoyed all the benefits attached to our positions as tellers. There is absolutely no disparity in my work load and to make matters worse, my branch could be classified as a non-performing branch in terms of income generation, so my branch head equally subjects me to marketing duties by making sure I introduce accounts to the branch if I want to be appraised very well in the bi-annual appraisal system of the bank.

I go to work each day, concealing my disdain for the conditions I have to work with, but what has really provoked this write-up is the issue of 13th month salary, also called December bonus. Zenith Bank has a policy of paying 13th month to all cadres of staff, professional and non-professional (contract). By that I mean the security staff and bulk note counters also enjoy of this largesse.

I expected that I would equally be paid this bonus, having put in more than a fair shift of workload during the year, but to my utmost bewilderment and those of my professional (contract) colleagues, we were denied of the benefit.

I have tried to rationalize why the bank would decide to treat us with such disdain and contempt for our efforts and I am yet to come up with an answer.

I want the bank to understand that as frontline officers of our various branches, they’re treading on our emotions and the level of bottled up rage in most of my colleagues would definitely spill over soon, that the bank as an institution would be setting itself up for the worst public relations disaster of any financial institution in the country.

Act now and the do the right thing as it is in your best interest.

PS

To the general public, if you walk into any of the Zenith branches and the attending teller doesn’t reciprocate friendliness or warmth, please don’t take offence, understand that his animosity is not to you but the unfortunate employer he/she has to contend with.

Yours faithfully,

Chris

So some Igbos who couldn't afford to take themselves back to their villages were assisted by Lagos State government to reach the Niger Bridge (their homes!). On behalf of Oha na Eze and Aka Ikenga which seem only interested in fighting for Political offices, I want to urge Igbomen in Fashola's government, namely Ben Akabueze and Joe Igbokwe to honourably resign their positions immediately as a mark of honour for their dehumanised brothers. I don't have any word for Fashola and his thugs who perpetrated this heinous act than to remind them that APC is seen as a Yoruba-Hausa alliance and you cannot penetrate Igboland with this kind of behaviour even if it doesn't reflect the disposition of the average Yoruba towards the Igbo. A government that looks after the rich and the privileged in the society cannot please God. So what happens to the Yoruba beggars all over the state and how come Niger Bridge became the homes of the hapless street traders who offends the sight of the man that failed his WAEC and nearly wasn't going to make it to University? Those street traders are still tolerable than the Junkies that have been clothed in LASTMA Uniforms. This is what we call 'ALU' in our land. Chineke, biko napu ndi ojo ike.

Islam for Muslims / My Landlord Says My Girlfriend Should Not Visit During Ramadam by modicum: 9:59am On Jul 19, 2013
I'm living in a 2 bedroom apartment with my landlord who is a Muslim .i've got a girlfriend who visits me once in a week and my landlord is well aware of this. To my surprise, my landlord called me on Saturday that I should tell my girlfriend not to visit me on Ramadan period because my girlfriend visiting my own room is a SIN for him because he's fasting.
Note: I'm a free thinker and not fasting with him. 2. We're not related and not sharing the same room. 3. My tenancy agreement doesn't indicate any Ramadan clause. 4. I've got only one girlfriend visiting this apartment . 5. My landlord has got 2 wives living in separate apartment. 6. I've been living in this apartment for 9months and I introduced my girlfriend to my landlord when I moved in. 7. Anytime my girlfriend visits, she come straight into my room meaning she hardly meet my landlord .8. My girlfriend is very clean and anytime she uses the toilet, she always keep it clean and tidy.
My question is; how does my visiting girlfriend affect my landlord's fasting??

Politics / Misplaced Sentiment For Phone Thief by modicum: 9:03pm On May 10, 2013
I AM appalled by the avalanche of misplaced sentiments, in the media and especially on the Internet, being directed at the convicted thief, Kelvin Ighodalo, who was jailed 10 years for stealing Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s phone. A particular newspaper has led its readers on this false path and the false echo has since been picked up by the Osun State PDP and its wannabe aspirants.

The allegation is made, in the fashion of what Herbert London called ‘avatars of moral equivalence’ in which a crime, no matter how heinous, becomes insignificant and irrelevant, considering other circumstances of the convict. In this case, the victim of the robbery, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, happens to be a big man, a state governor. So when has it become that a big man should not get justice because of his status?

The mischief actually began with headlines that sensationally amplified the sentence – ‘Man bags 45 years for stealing Aregbesola’s phone’. However, the truth is that he was convicted on a six-count charge totalling 45 years but which will run concurrently, meaning that he would actually spend a maximum of 10 years in jail. Indeed, the law had prescribed a minimum of eight years and maximum of 20 years for each of the first three counts and he was lucky to get just 10 years – slightly above the minimum.

Secondly, a detailed look at the thief’s antecedent will reveal that the sentiment showered on him is highly misplaced. Ighodalo was a police officer dismissed from service for armed robbery and was cooling his heels at Kirikiri maximum prison when Governor Aregbesola’s phone was snatched. However, the phone got to him from his associates who were the pickpockets and he started calling the governor’s friends, including traditional rulers, soliciting for money. At the last count, he had fraudulently collected more than N20 million from different people. When the governor heard, he informed the service provider and the SIM card was locked.

When Ighodalo was released from prison on bail, he penetrated the service provider through corruption and retrieved the SIM card again and started calling the governor’s friends and associates. He was however arrested in a bank in Benin while trying to cash his booty from a victim. The man actually wrestled him to the floor in a banking hall. He was again detained in a police station in Lagos where in connivance with the DPO, he escaped to continue to dupe people in the governor’s name.

Now, this man operates a syndicate involving several police officers, a prison warden and his brother, many of whom are either on the run or facing criminal charges.

It is interesting that when he was charged, he pleaded guilty and was given slightly above minimum punishment in light of his uproarious antecedent. The people complaining about the harshness of this sentence are moral cowards who would wish that a criminal is released to freely ply his evil trade on innocent people. This misplaced sentiment has unwittingly turned the villain into victim and the victim, this time, Aregbesola, into villain.

There is a way still in which the judgement is incomplete. What happens to all the money he had collected? How will the victims collect their money back? The judgement is silent on this. Will he return from prison to start enjoying the gains of crime? Should he and must he?

Religion / Exposed! Allegations That Redeemed Pastor Adeboye Is A CIA Agent by modicum: 6:37pm On Apr 17, 2013
Nigeria is one liberally sentimental society where what you write or say about religious idols are quick to be termed as blasphemy but truth be told, Nigerians are being taken for granted and it`s high time we take our destiny in our hands by making our leaders answerable to some of the financial calamities the country has been plunged into over the years.

By estimation, according to international analysts, Nigeria is meant to be one of the most prosperous nations in the world owing to its staggering production of about 2.4 million barrels of oil everyday and with the price of oil pegged at $93.61 a barrel, our dear country earns a whopping $224 million income a day, and this is just from crude oil sales. With its geopolitical power and economic resources, I doubt if any country would have the power and financial might to change the course of black/African civilization like Nigeria had our leaders not corrupt. Nigerian citizens are probably the worst treated in the world with the recent research saying it`s the worst place for any baby to be born especially this year, 2013. Where are all these monies? Before we serve you this story, please check Ezekiel 8:12, He said to me, “Son of a man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in darkness, each at the shrine of his own idols? They say, “The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.”
It is an unbelievable story of the revered man of God, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who`s alleged to be involved in a dirty import duty deals, and this are obviously not one of those framed up stories, there are verifiable facts and figures, the man who`s fondly referred to as Daddy G.O by obsessed Redeemed Church patrons worldwide is in a centre of a serious controversy. Daddy G.O is being alleged to have connections with the CIA and not just that, he`s said to have evaded import duty severally to the extent that, he has cheated and cause the country over N20 billion loss in revenue generation. Below is a text of what an international broadcast journalist and erstwhile editor of Yahoo Canada got after a thorough undercover investigation. It is as mind boggling as anybody could think.

“Enoch Adejare Adeboboye is a Nigerian pastor and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, but he`s also a CIA agent. His church in the Silver Spring area of Maryland, USA has been infiltrated by the CIA, America's SSS called the Central Intelligence Agency. A major number of prominent US-based Nigerians are in the church and if they dare me, I will mention their names ONE by ONE. I have played undercover in the church for some time. You see, Adeboye's congregation there is led by one pastor Ghandi Olaoye, a greedy pastor leading Hesus House, DC, who claims his church's praise is high, the worship is intense and the word is uncompromising. He is currently the coordinator in charge of convention and special projects for RCCG.

Recently, some prominent US based Doctors/LOUD mouth Nigerians opened their mouth at president Jonathan's government demanding who the Senators funding Boko Haram are? They were so loud and insulting that they should have stood in the middle of Maiduguri or Kaduna to make those claims. These brainwashed MORONS once gave Ghandi a brand new Mercedes Benz for his 50th birthday, he spent their money lavishly on his party and ultimately, he'll poison them like Jim Jones when they are all done in his CULT. They are using your money for funding parties, cars and more.

Adeboye was linked to a scandalous import duty waiver said to have cost Nigeria a whooping N20 Billion in revenue loss between 2006 and 2007. The deal was facilitated by Ghandi. All their lavish stealing and spending, now the CIA is in there with them. What they don't know is that they can use this to ruin the rest of Nigeria and their congregation brainwashed here. I saw the 2006, RCCG import waiver of N9, 831, 109, 309. 00 through certificate no., BO/REV/12235/S.2/T.133 to import construction materials; generators and vehicles. The value of the imports was N49, 155, 546, 846. 00. In 2007, another import waiver was granted.

This time through a certificate number BO/R10260/V111/161, RCCG was granted rights to import building/construction materials with value put at N48, 988, 454, 876. 00 with a total waiver of N9, 757, 690, 975. 20. The two waivers total N19, 588, 800, 284.20, while the bulk transactions amount to N98,144,347,130.20. Also 300 luxury cars with value put at $6,923,000, 100 Jeeps (SUV) valued at $8,000,000, Video Equipment valued at $12,000,000.00, were all part of the shady import deals. Adeboye and Ghandi may have escaped jail term this time but that does not prevent me from RIPPING his stealing for you.

The CIA is watching. They may be working for them. Look at you, you broke ass poor calling a thief your MAN OF GOD! He is the Man of the DEVIL!”.

REPENT Ghandi Ola-OLE!

Politics / Why Gowon Can't Write His Memoir by modicum: 11:35pm On Mar 26, 2013
Many people have urged Gen. Gowon to write his memoir.Mounting such pressure on him is an exercise in futility because there are five key issues, which he will never be able to explain convincingly to all Nigerians. So he prefers to avoid talking about them. The first is the Aburi Accord. How on earth can Gowon justify dumping an agreement he signed freely in a foreign country, surrounded by a crowd of advisers and technocrats?

The second is the pogrom of 1966/1967 in Kano and Kaduna? Till date, nobody was arrested. Nobody was prosecuted or convicted for murder, arson and looting. Lest we forget, it is this impunity over the years that has metamorphosed into an controllable monster called Boko Haram. Boko Haram is not imported. It is a phenomenon nurtured by the Northern elite to consolidate their hold on power at the centre. It may have developed some international “tentacles” but it was wholly home-grown. The Northern elite have lost control of what they created.

Third, how can Gowon justify the signing away of the Bakassi Peninsular without consulting the indigenes, all in a desperate move to win his war against Emeka Ojukwu? Gen. Gowon traded away a people, their land, the resources and the strategic position of the Bakassi Peninsular. Fourthly, what is Gowon’s explanation for the starving to death of two million children in Biafra? Was there no other way to avoid this monumental human tragedy?

Finally, how will Gowon justify signing the Abandoned Property decree? How will Gowon reconcile that decree with “No victor, No vanquished”? How will he reconcile the Abandoned Property law with his “RRR” (Reconciliation, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction)? The “RRR” was cleverly hijacked by the Lagos/Ibadan propaganda machine because Western Nigeria benefited immensely from Gowon’s dictatorship. “RRR” existed only on the pages of Tribune, Sketch and Herald newspapers. There was nothing on ground for the devastated Easterners. It was Sam Mbakwe and Jim Nwobodo that started reconstructing roads in 1979 (nine years after “RRR” was declared by the Federal Government). It is now (40 years after the war) that Rotimi Amaechi and Godswill Akpabio are reconstructing and expanding pre-war roads in their states. Nigerians waiting for Gowon’s memoir may have to wait forever.

Islam for Muslims / The Name Of The Prophet's Parents Not Mentioned In The Quran by modicum: 7:18pm On Mar 22, 2013
With the following figure, you will marvel that Muhammad pronounced Jesus more than himself or any of his family members including his parents. Do you know that in the whole 114 chapters and 6666 verses of the Quran both his parents were not mentioned at all while a chapter is devoted to Mary, the mother of Jesus and her name is mentioned 36 times in the Quran, 50 per cent more than 18 times it is mentioned in the Bible. I wonder why the Prophet mentioned his name only five times and mentioned Jesus’ name 25 times, 200 per cent more than his.

One funny thing I've found all around social media commentators is that most people are completely ignorant of the basis on which the State commandant was invited for an interview in the first place.
He was solely invited because many job seekers has been swindled by phishing fraudsters using clones of NSCDC website to advertise and collect payments for the job. The very first thing he should have come to the table with is the correct URL of the organization, so as to educate Nigerians and also clear the air that the frauds was an insider job.
He ended up confusing the populace without giving any address, making it look like the 'oga at the top' is actually the fraud mastermind.
There was no reason whatsoever for him to dilly dally on this particular question, that was why the panel insisted on getting him to say something that will be taken as the official website.
If I invite you for an interview to clear the air that some people are using variants of your father's name to defraud people, you should be able to tell me clearly, what your father's real names are.
