Foreign Affairs / Re: Iran Hoists The Red Flag Which Is A Traditional Symbol For War by nanaman(m): 10:21pm On Jan 04, 2020
Put religion aside. These Iranians are not cowards like Nigerian youths whose souls and minds have been caged by their oppressors. They are fearless and support each other, not like Nigerian youths who are selfish and self-centered. Forget it, let all US allies support her, Iran would cause a monumental havoc that US would forever remember.

See,they are not going to start calling Imams and Alfas or run to mosque for shelter, they would face the war together. They are ready to pay the price with their blood. If it were to be in Nigeria, religious houses would be full by now.

Nigerian youths, stop ranting. Drop your keypads and face your oppressors. Let them know the CHANGE they poised should start with them. Stop unnecessary arguments and flimsy issues that would not take the country to another level.

The War between them will never get here. You can read, watch and listen to news to keep yourself abreast of the latest development. However, don't watch others fighting while your house is not intact.

Romance / Re: A Thug Impregnated My Younger Sister by nanaman(m): 5:28pm On Jan 04, 2020
The deed has been done and next step is what you should be worried about. Good you have made a decision that the baby should be born.

First, what's your sister's stand? To marry him or stay away? Do not force decisions on her and do not decide for her because no one knows, the child might change the father's behaviour, change the story of the family or otherwise. Let her decide and respect her decision. All you can do is to counsel and guide her on the right decision to make.

If she decides to stay away from the father, let it be done in a proper way. With what you said, the father is "irresponsible" but the family are capable. The question now is, are you ready to give the baby to the family to take care off or you think your family is capable? If your family is capable, let them do the naming, inform them that they should pay some amount of money every month for the upkeep of the baby and choose days when the father can visit.

Second, for proper documentation and future reference, you should contact the nearest welfare office around you to get this done so that if perhaps they fail to concur to the agreement which they would actually do, court process can be initiated. The custody and care of the child is paramount at this stage so, if court process is initiated, you can have full custody while the father would be playing the fatherly role while the child visit to acquaint him/her with the roots

Finally, to be sincere, you would have no choice than to relocate your sister from that area, else, she would get pregnant again for the same guy. Her future might be ruined by stigma so, try as much as possible to find her a new abode and something worthwhile doing.

The thing is the CCTV camera are ripped off every minute I think it must be an inside job to sabotage the name of the hotel I keep replacing CCTV every month

Then, it's an inside job. One of your staff has been compromised. Since you know this, I think it's time you get a new CCTV installer from another state. It should be a 2days job when you have low patronage and make the old one a decoy For now, you alone should have access to the new setup till you get someone you can trust.

To bring the case to a halt, you have gone through the process before so you know how to go about it.

I have respect for the Dead so I won't bother posted any pictures of dead corpse on this forum. My family owns a hotels which I'm a manager somewhere in enugu 2 in Lagos and Spain sometimes this year we found a dead body in one of the room.
But a lady died naked with some missing body partson the 27th of December in the asaba branch and police are investigating and making threats. I am trying to handle the situation without involving my Dad. He is old and has a lot of faith in me.
The police is asking for bribe or they would make trouble for me threathing to revoke our licence. This is not the first time such a Discovery has been made in the hotel.
What should I do? I mean an impasse.
What do hotel owners do with dead corpse found in hotel rooms they all report all to the police or do they bury them somebody advised me not to report it to the police again but bury the dead

You mean with all these investments, you don't have CCTV in your hotel? You mean check in and out is not properly done after the departure of a guest.? That does not speak well of an hotelier who has branches home and abroad.

You need to be investigated properly since it's not the first time as well.

Romance / Re: Re: Ladies, Can You Marry A Guy That Earns N30k? by nanaman(m): 9:50pm On Dec 30, 2019
vickydankal:
Past few days has been funny, regarding age, financial stability and economic state a man must attain before talking marriage.

Let me tell a bit of myself. .....

I met my husband in his final year he promised me marriage after a year of service, his salary then was 10k, yes 10k. He proposed and engaged me in his mum's face me I slap you house. My family rejected him at first, because of his dressing, financial status and his house. No much property.

I saw a future with him we will build together, I saw myself as part of his vision builder. I knew my calling was to help him achieve his goals and vision thereby achieving mine.

It took 5 years of struggle, pains, mockery and frustration. But we remained together. Today to the glory of God there's a change of story. We literally feed and pay salary to many of our mockers then .

From mine experience, a good and faith woman has God given discernment to know men with future and also to know if they belong there.

30k is not too small to begin life, though many things must be taken into account. When to begin child birth, number of children, type of housing, property, savings, side hustles etc with wisdom, love, understanding and God's grace backing your efforts you will succeed just a matter of time., that's if you overcome association of village people on time. It is because of excess comfort on the side of the men before marriage that's why many men take their wives as part of their properties.

I have joint account with my husband, most of our major properties are written in both of our names. I have a say in the home, I have earned my dignity and respect. Through thick and thin, so no man can shuush me down. I paid the price in full.

I'm not saying we have achieved everything in my own marriage, I'm saying, if you see a man God fearing, with the qualities you want and with a vision that can house your own vision as a lady, it is not a bad idea. But be ready to be insulted, mocked by family and friends. Let down your guild and roll up your sleeves and work. Forget slay mama and slay queen did later in life. Pay the price...

Too much expectations has kept many unmarried for years. It is not too good to leave all the financial burdens of the home to the man. He is not God, if you are his help meet come low and help him and not expect range rover every birth day.
The amount of salary shouldn't be the only determinant factor. Leadership, management, self control and goals acccessment should be vital on both man and his wife.

God bless you, Ma

Forget slay mama and slay queen did later in life. Pay the price...

You said all with the above.

I wonder what this generation has turned to. We We so much put emphasis on "big" money than anything. It's evident at the rate of rituals, fraud and lots of bad stuffs in the society.

Op, how much does a state civil servant on Level 8 step 2 earns.? 46K in some states and less in other. Yet, lots of these folks build houses and have good homes at the end.

You know what, we are running faster than our shadow. We compare ourselves to others forgetting we have different exit points which would be at different pace and race.

Earning 30K is no biggie. You will get married, have a home even have a good future. It all depends on the individual. Planning is what matters. 30K might be small but if you see people living on 30k per month, you would marvel. I always say, to live like a big man solely depends on you. You buy things gradually, you set the home gradually, you save little.

If you earn 30K and you do contribution of 10K monthly and in 5 months you collect 50K. If you plan well, that 50K can start a side biz.

Savings, contributions and side business have always been the way out for the low salary earners. They have made headway.

Bottom line, don't rush in life. Don't compare. Plan ahead. Mind your business. Save and be safe.

Family / Re: He Got My Sister Pregnant, Rejected It, Now He Wants The Child 16 Years After by nanaman(m): 10:20am On Dec 30, 2019
GerogeI:

Bros, that's where you are wrong.
By common law, he gave up his rights by being irresponsible. The child does not exist in a vaccum. To survive the child has informal guardians taking care of her for 16 years. He should try to dislodge that in a court.

By cultural law, he has no foot-in, what's so ever. You cannot claim a child you did not father legally in Igbo culture. That's why we legally do not have bastards, as the culture provides for a father in Every situation. Child of an unmarried mother belongs to the childs grandparents.

Your are making assumptions based on the patrichal nature of most societies. In most cases people just let go in order to spare the child the trauma. As long as he does not has access to this child to get into her psychology, do not let him subject a happy 16 year old child to psychological trauma and confusion. Spare her all these till her twenties. At that age her supposed father also know he is just a visitor.

Thanks for this. Very educative especially your second paragraph.

To dislodge such case in court will be an herculean task. Reason been that, we are just listening to a side of the story. Why did the man refuse to accept the pregnancy or child? Probably the woman was promiscuous (OP, apologies, we are just dissecting issues), or very naive while in school, or he was out of sight when he got the news or it was just absolute wickedness or the lady's fault as well (you know girls, they might be funny at times) lots of reasons we can't comprehend.

I want us to remove personal feelings and sentiments.

In court, you don't throw the water and the baby away. It would be based on facts. The mother already accepted, the man owns the child. Being that the child was not properly taking care of can be due to lots of reasons beyond the control of the man. The man is guilty of all charges. Accepted

However, does that just justify the court to denounce him of his child since the mother accepted he is the father? Does his irresponsibility make loose partenity?

You are just making up your own rules as you go.
The guy OP that wrote this is from the East, I guess. In Igbo culture, you cannot claim the child of a woman you did not marry, talkless of the one you denied. The man simply has no rights over the child. A 16 years child is still a minor and cannot Grant him any rights herself.

I did not make rules. The problem is that we all don't know our rights until certain issues arise. Forget Igbo culture or not, the man owns the child and there is nothing we can do about it.

Let me pose a question, who owns the child? And let it be clear, in partenity, a 16yrs old is not a minor.

Legally, the so-called ‘real father’ has zero case and zero chance of winning a custody battle.

Zero.

Hmm.. Don't let me talk. You think so? You already judged with what you read without listening to both parties of what really transpired. Let's keep it that way. But trust me, if some people handle the case for the guy, you would be surprised. The only issue is that the young girl would bear the consequences hence, my sta tus quo.

the girl is 16. she could decide not to meet with the father but the op responsibility is to let her know the real father and her real story

Definitely, she can. However, it should be done properly. Let me reiterate, see, put feelings aside and take necessary steps. The man can fight for custody which he knows he won't get but just to tell the woman she has no right to dictate for their daughter.

Like I said, issues like this can be funny at times if the woman does not act fast, the young girl will find it hard to decide. The man to me has facts and knows what to do to get his daughter hence, his decision. He would want to start being a responsible father so as to win the heart of the young girl.

No need for any family meeting, let the court decide for them and luckily, most judges in family court are women, she would get custody. The deed has been done. It is left for amicable solution.

Ladies should learn to close their legs and if they can't, make sure they do court wedding and if it's not visible and their is any child out of wedlock, let the welfare agency take necessary steps to avoid loosing in all sides. Don't put any sentiment, feelings, pleadings from family and friends. It it bornes down to this, sometimes, you might be at the loosing end.

I have this much to say, any man that impregnates a woman, denies the paternity of her child and puts her integrity and person to question but returns when she had had to be a single parent all her life should know that he is in no place to demand access to that child's life; it was not your child 16years ago, what changed??

That is why women should take necessary steps whenever a man denies a child's paternity . It is very easy. Go the welfare office, he and his family would be invited, counselled and if he still insist, he would sign documents agreeing not to claim the child which in future would make him loose everything because by then, the court would have ruled and if possible another man would have adopted and taken custody. The case ends there forever and ever.

The problem women have from experience is that, they still have an iota of feelings for their child's father probably due to culture or religion. It would make them move on with the hope that oneday, someday, the man would come back. They are always been taking for granted which they accept. Even if the man comes after 40yrs and what I said above has not been done, he can still claim paternity.
