Nothing! If there was a fair and even playing ground...this dude won't be fit to shine the shoes of Chief Cletus Ibeto or sit in the same room with Chief Dr. Alexander Chika Okafor. He inherited an already favoured business, diversified it and all successive governments from the 90s till date have ensured that it continues to thrive because they are "born to rule" while the Ibetos, Lulu-Briggs and Madukas aren't. Well what do I even know?[/quote] |

Sports / Re: Tyson Vs Trump: Your Employee Today Could Become Your President Or Boss Tomorrow by NeuroBoss(m): 12:53pm On Apr 17, 2019 |
Who are the people that decide what gets to the nairaland homepage? A basic knowledge of the lives of these two individuals should have told the mod that this is just those made in naija motivational stories seasoned with half-truths and baked with ignorance. Trump, eve when he declared bankruptcy in 1991 could buy Tyson many times over....if he ever hired Trump for anything, Trump took it from a position of power. Trump loved to be seen around celebs because he was at a time in showbiz with running a beauty pageant show. Trump na Tyson papa anytime. Do away with your post that reeks of ignorance and motivational nonsense. Na so dem talk Sir Shina Peters and Jim Ovia own. Liars! 7 Likes |

LarryHooper: Okay…you learn everyday. The real Lagos, named by the Portuguese is Isale-Eko, Lagos Island gemerally. Everyother place in "Lagos" are independent towns and villages that became modernized and cosmoplitan due to the rapid development of the state. People even in Yaba will ask you in Yoruba, "E jowo buroda, nibo ni won ti n wo moto Eko? It is not discrimination. It is how it is! 1 Like |

Politics / The Right Way To Write "Aluta Continua..." And Its Origin by NeuroBoss(m): 9:05pm On Feb 07, 2019 |
If people would use the now famous Portuguese slogan used by activists, labour unions and everyone associated with any kind of struggle, it is good they know how it is correctly written. The slogan, a symbol of Mozambican political struggle is correctly written as "A luta continua, vitória é certa". It is wrong to write it as "Aluta continua, victoria ascerta". For where? The "A" is the definite article equivalent of English "the" and there is nothing like "Aluta" in Portuguese language. The "luta" itself is the "struggle". The "é" means "is" and conjugated from the verb, "ser" (to be). "Continua" is an inflection of the verb, "continuar" while "certa" meaning "sure" or "certain" is the feminine form of the adjective "certo". The history that brought this into our lexicon and struggle-speak is still as recent as the 70's. All you SUG people who bandy intellectualism should correct this. I know it is not a language they speak but if they must put something into mainstream use, they could as well learn to use it correctly. Boa sorte! |
