Put The Glass Down
==================

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his students on stress
management. He raised a glass of water and asked the audience,
"How heavy do you think this glass of water is?" The students'
answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how
long you hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, it is OK.
If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.

It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it,
the heavier it becomes."

If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will
not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly
heavier. What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for
a while before holding it up again.

We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be
refreshed and are able to carry on.

So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of
work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up
tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it
down for a moment if you can.

Pick it up again later when you have rested.[ Or better still pass it to Master Jesus]

Rest and relax. Life is short, enjoy it!

~Author Unknown~

I HOPE YOU HAVE LEARNT A LESSON FROM THE ABOVE STORY , AS I DID.

SONG THAT MAKE ME WANT TO CRY

From a Distance
~ Bette Midler

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.

From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace,
it's the voice of every man.

From a distance we all have enough,
and no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
no hungry mouths to feed.

From a distance we are instruments
marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They're the songs of every man.
God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

From a distance you look like my friend,
even though we are at war.
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
what all this fighting is for.

From a distance there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
And it's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves,
it's the heart of every man.

It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves.
This is the song of every man.
And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us from a distance.
Oh, God is watching us, God is watching.
God is watching us from a distance.

THE CAT

The Cat
========

Dwight Nelson recently told a true story about the pastor of his
church.

He had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then
was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk,
etc. The kitty would not come down.

The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided
that if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so that the
tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten.

He did all this, checking his progress in the car frequently,
then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree
would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten.

But as he moved a little further forward, the rope broke.

The tree went "boing!" and the kitten instantly sailed through
the air - out of sight.

The pastor felt terrible.

He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'D seen
a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So he
prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping," and
went on about his business.

A few days later he was at the grocery store and met one of his
church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and
was amazed to see cat food. Now this woman was a cat hater and
everyone knew it, so he asked her, "Why are you buying cat food
when you hate cats so much?"

She replied, "You won't believe this," and told him how her
little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept
refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again,
so the Mom finally told her little girl, "Well if God gives you
a cat, I'll let you keep it?"

(Can you see where this is heading?)

She told the pastor, "I watched my child go out in the yard, get
on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you
won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes.

A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws
outspread, and landed right in front of her."

Never underestimate the Power of God and what may appear to be
breaking on one end, is answering prayer on another.
