Too Many Bini Girls In Europe! Why?

My dear bros and sis, in europe and america where most of us live, we complain, and cry about racism against us collectively. the whites look down on us because of our skin color. we work 10x harder to prove ourselves and retain our jobs. then instead of us to use this forum that Seun brought to us to share knowledge and experience to better ourselves and each other, we bring on ourselves this self-destructive cankerworm called TRIBALISM. will we ever learn, when will we stop disdaining one another just b/cos of tribe? this is sad. remember what barack obama said in ghana, "the solution to africa's problems is in the hands of africa", just as so, the solution to nigeria's problems is in the hands of we nigerians. what concerns and troubles a yoruba man/woman also troubles all other tribes and what concerns or troubles an igbo man/woman will also trouble/concern the rest of the tribes and vice versa all the other tribes and the rest of africa by extention. If you doubt me, go and check how many Nigerian soldiers died in liberia, siera leone etc, just to solve problems of other africans. these soldiers were not ibo, yoruba, hausa, ibibio, bini soldiers. they were NIGERIAN soldiers.

Oshiomhole tasks European govts on human trafficking

BENIN CITY- GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has called on European governments, to help in the fight against human trafficking by identifying the sponsors abroad and ensure that they are prosecuted.
 
Urging the youths of the state and the nation to resist the urge of traveling abroad illegally so as to avoid unwarranted deaths and humiliation, Oshiomhole stressed the need for the European governments to be proactive in the fight against human trafficking by making the market unattractive for the sponsors, fearing that the war may be difficult for the Federal Government unless there is an international collaboration to it.


Oshiomhole spoke at the maiden campaign against Human Trafficking organized by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and other Related Matters (NAPTIP) in collaboration with the state government, in Benin City yesterday.


Commending President Musa Yar’Adua on the fight against corruption, Governor Oshiomhole, asserted that “ I identified with the sentiment expressed by the Finland Ambassador, and we in Edo state recognizes that girls are supposed to be well trained by providing better opportunities for them to go to school.


We want to say that there should be an international war against those who are receiving the traffickers, because if the market is there the trade will continue to flourish.


“I think we need to campaign both beyond because ones we can discourage people from buying, those who are selling will have no market. So we have to take this campaign beyond Africa to Europe.The war against corruption could also be translated to the fight against trafficking because fight against poverty is a fight against trafficking.


“Fight against unemployment is a fight against trafficking. I believe that it is not a coincidence that as people becomes poorer and poorer, they think of strategies which may compound the problem of poverty. The poor believe very wrongly that life else where is like heaven. They believe that traveling abroad is like migrating to heaven, but those of us who has traveled knows that life is tough outside Nigeria.


“ I have seen in the streets of New York, thousands of people sleep in the streets of New York but when we watch television, you will think that life is heaven in America, it is not.


In various capitals in Europe, I have seen people of various colours who are homeless. We are aware that there is poverty here, but there are challenges elsewhere. For us in Edo state, we are agreed with the sentiment expressed by the Executive Secretary of NAPTIP, that rhetoric alone cannot stop the incident of trafficking” he stated.


Oshiomhole added : “Government must take bold steps and it is included the President Yar’Adua’s seven point agenda which is designed to revive the Nigeria economy, fight poverty and create jobs.


In Edo state we are giving priority to job creation because we believe that when people work they will not be influenced into trafficking. We also believe that we must go beyond this trafficking to the question of education. In Edo state we have abolished and eliminated all those levies in education
