A paint factory situated close to Budapest in AUSTRIA HUNGARY, has staff strength of 386 with 355 able men and 31 females in the organization.
Carolina, a young dynamic lady with high hopes and deep sense of professionalism and creativity, joined the organization in 1998 and spent one year in their training school to come out as the most out standing management trainee for that year. She was then posted to the Packaging department to express her new ideas and creative skills to build the growing department; her performance was outstanding and positioned her ready for new levels.
After working in the packaging department for Six months with high performance great creativity for solving problems, she was transferred to Quality control department.
Sebastian Hue was made her line head; he was young dynamic and single. Sebastian, a 29 year old guy with an extreme gorgeous looks, refined poise and European manners that makes all heads turn and keeps eyes hitched in admiration of his fineness, he developed great ideas that delivered exceptional quality products that the organization used as a competitive advantage.
Upon working together for a short period, He was drawn deeply to Caroline and fell deeply in love with Carolina and a strong bond grow and bloomed into deep affection and near open romance. Their relationship became common knowledge in rest rooms and walk ways.
The personnel department got to know about their deeply romantic relationship and based on performance concerns advised Sebastian to resign from the organization while Caroline was transferred to the logistics department. She was heart-broken and did not come to work for three days breaking the policy of absenteeism after a short while her performance began to drop significantly and her new line manager had to issue performance caution letter.
What is wrong in having affection in the workplace? Was the decision of the personnel department right, just or fair? Now Sebastian is filing for a law suit to challenge the decision of management and Caroline’s creative strength seems to have disappeared over the last 5 months.
If you were the personnel manager what will you have done??
