Woman Dies At Lagos Airport - After Cocaine Bursts In Her Stomach
« on: December 18, 2007, 12:10 PM »

A female drug trafficker, Ifeoma Daniel Joy, at the weekend slumped and died at the departure hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
Joy, aged 29, was said to have died after one of the wraps of drugs she ingested burst while preparing to board an Ethiopian airline heading for Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A release signed by Ofoyeju Mitchell, the Public Affairs Officer of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), stated that the lady had ingested about 79 wraps of a narcotic drug that tested positive for cocaine and weighing 1.32 kilogrammes.
Joy, a native of Ukwa in Ukwa Local Government Area of Abia State, resided at 1, Ohafia Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Her corpse, according to the release, was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where she was operated upon to evacuate the drugs from her stomach.
Two other suspected drug traffickers, Raymond Mammah, aged 38, and Okonkwo Samuel, 23, who also ingested drugs, were arrested by the officials of the NDLEA at the airport at the weekend.
Raymond, the release said, was discovered through X-ray to have swallowed 64 wraps of substances that proved positive for cocaine, while about to catch a flight to Guangzhou in China, while Okonkwo also confessed to have ingested 90 wraps of cocaine on his way to Amsterdam.

I'm sure all these Couriers are aware of the dangers of swallowing drugs. I only pity the family of this lady.

The blessing of God makes one rich and adds no sorrow. The problem with some people is not their daily bread, clothing and shelter, but the desire to be a "rich" man/woman at all cost. The love of money is the root of all evils and pathway to destruction and sorrow.
