EPHEMERALITY

Where?
                                                           . . . There
                           Where?
   Here. . .
                . . . Where?
                                                                                         Long gone!

@Lekana
you see what i mean?
you are turning into a dean
thank God, she didn't use a knife
what would have happened to your life?
all the same, it was a good try
it would have left you dry
extend my greetings to your chick
hope she doesn't think you're a geek
next time  bring a real milk
and see if she wouldn't lick
hope to see you in two days time
by then, hope you will be fine.
i wish you QUICK recovery
as for your KICK, its a new discovery.

Are you really listening?                                 QUESTION 1
Please don’t appear glistening
In your replies which you deem necessary
To my question without good accessory.

Where on earth do you seek rest at night?                           QUESTION 2
Mine temporary is in the big heart
Very close to the river Niger
In the land I refer to as naija.

Do I refer to you as a litigator?                                   QUESTION 3
Cause yours truly is an auditor,
Would really like to audit your person
You never know, we might be cousin.

Can you truly answer this questions?                               QUESTION 4
I’ve raised above without any tension
Maybe we could start from here
Without raising any hair.

Hello, rhyming bees
You don’t have to pay a fees
To learn how to pour your rhymes
You can let it flow like normal yarns

I must confess, though
Ryhmers here, are without any kowtow
Personally, I’ve learnt a lot from this thread
Even things that are weird.

       Nairaland is so tight,
because it's filled with people so bright,
meexteriox, colors, ifyalways, lekana, but to mention a few,
this guys'll take you to cloud nine, without you having a clue.
To post in nairaland, you don't need a receipt,
over here, there's no age limit,
if your intellect is good enough,
       then you are old enough.
Then you have my favorite thread,
       a must read,
       it's the rhyme zone,
       a creative zone,
       were creativity is most appriciated,
and you can bet we're all interested.
in keeping this thread a bestseller.

Rhyming is taking a new dimension
Beclouding spiceyblue real intention
I just hope it turns out fine
At least,  everything we pine

Building gradually is an unknown picture
Defying the absolute rule of nature
I just hope it turns out great
With nothing to hate.

Great friendship is turning the status quo
Is that wedding bell in the tow?
I just hope it turns out real
So it may end up with a seal.

 LIFE IN THE GHETTO
he dey good to rhyme with any language you choose
as long as wetin your yan blend, you get nothing to loose
i recollect when guys still dey hustle for ghetto
hawking to make doe to buy potato
life so rough, but we still dey catch our fun
playing inside rain, playing foot ball back then inside hot sun

Guys smoking weeds to get inspiration
free styling using sticks and cans for instrumentation
i no know how guys do am, words still coming, no duration
before you know what, everybody start jubilation
men sipping shepe and pami, motivating everybody mood as we jarate on
building cars wey man use carton and cans as tyres
running race with cord tied to the tips sometimes with wires
then we they watch one cartoon them call speed racers

we dey go street to street to play football matches
contributing 5 naira so each man go fit get him own jerseys
stand out side in the night wistling if my babe go snick out
sometimes when the mama see me she go shout
make i get out from dere or she go call the father
that night them go flog her with cain or with leather
so many funny incidents to remember
like when i go home last December

Thanks for the greeting,
though felt u were teasing,
but since we aint competing,
i can take the ribbing.

i believe in love,
because it's not aganist the law.

for as we get old,
things tend to get cold,
so we shouldn't put our feelings on hold,
just let it flow.

Loving is easy,
makes your head kind of of like fuzzy.
but depends on your intentions,
for u to make the right connection.

just do try too hard,
and true love u will find.

respect to all rhymers in the house

unlike color wey get her own when she be thirteen

kuduz to all the bros wey dey this house
and the sisters i respect ona flow too for house
our rhymes dey attract visitors like cat attracted to mouse
like women wey gather for yaba dey buy bk blouse
feeling our messages and it usefulness even when them no use eye see us

so nairalanders go know say something dey happen
for rhymers zone were everybody need to come more often
like Israelites if you no come you go miss your leaven
enough write ups dey flow here everyday up to eleven
thanks to God wey dey watch us down from heaven
like the apostles, he always dey remembered us like steven
enemies no go fit prevail even there papa devil

some can suppress their fellow ones
for their own progress in their fields
they don't think of others becoming successes,
all they think of is to possess the world
dress gorgeously like the queens/kings
press dstv remotes for best information
not thinking of others without a radio
they do things in excess
regardless of others at recess stages
I can confess to you that
they do these things to impress the society
knowing some are depressed by their act
but just say "thats their stress"
as a result of the express moves they make
because they know the less privilege can't assess their properties

Its always good to have a medium of expression,
allowing u to make an impression.

You don't need to try so hard,
because we are all one of a kind.

Just keep it short and simple,
causing a ripple.

Keep them wanting more,
too much will make them sore.

You never know who is reading it,
and might probably be needing it.

It's a talent that is a joy to express,
keeps me from life's duress.

For me i can do it for free,
but i don't mind being paid a fee.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

My name is Olulu,
i ain't from the tribe of the zulus,
i love being naughty,
but i ain't haughty.
am quite handy,
without necessarily being randy.
but lead me not to temptation,
because i know temptation's destination.
I can be your friend forever like "CHOKI",
just don't treat me like a donkey.
Glad to meet people of like minds,
keeps me free from life's land mines.
Who am i?
well am da black brother,
that is has the power,
to take u to the 9th wonder.

LIFE's  JOURNEY

life sometimes can be demanding
man needs to be adaptable to situations as it's changing
the journey sometimes can be so rough
or atimes smooth like on a pitch playing golf
it always has a track layed ahead
man's directed as he forges ahead

you will come across road blocks, sharp turns
bridges or a straight road where you need no horns
to avoid accidents, the will to drive through
your dexterity and skills in handling bumps
will determines your progress and the will to move up in life
in achieving your purposes and aims in life
it affects how successful you will become
how rich you will be in obtaining life resourceful income
sober and relaxed with a sure achievable esteem

A PIECE OF ADVICE TO YOU ALL

Your identity
shows your mentality,
your mentality, shows your creativity,
your creativity shows your productivity,
and your producivity shapes your destiny.
Its only your offereing,
that can terminate your suffering,
for succes is not an accident,
but a caculated incident,
please keep away from distraction,
for it is an enemy of distinction.
Decision is a determinaion,
after cosideration,
for every good presentaton,
is a product of good preperation.
Do not loose hope in fate,
all you need do is have faith.
Faith starts by believing,
it ends with recieving,
its genesis is hearing,
its revelations are daring,
Faith is always aspiring,
but never expiring.
Faith is our doorway to haven- faith Amadi.

PLAY SAFE

I saw a girl in ekpoma,
Seated in a dark corner,
Chewing a nut called kola,
And sipping a bottle of coca cola.
As a true player,
An highly skilled woman hunter,
And a very successful toaster.
I stepped up to the sister,
In order to make her my lover.
Naturally am not a liar,
But I be sweet talker,
So I told the sister
My name na Michael Power
And that I be obasanjo’s uncle’s aunt’s step brother.
Sharp, sharp she draws me closer,
Telling me her name na Tina
That she needs a black brother
That has the power
To make her feel better.
Since the day was getting darker,
and the weather getting colder.
I took her to my quarters
So we could get a little bit warmer
I used my finger to check the sister’s under
But I discover
That my ten fingers
Enter the sister for under
Anyway I brought out my hammer
And ram enter the sister for under
I first started to go tender
Then I went faster
Na so she say brother you can do better
I then started to hammer harder
Na so she shout brother you are greater
And as I go deeper
Na so she scream brother
You are the real lover
That has the power
To take me to the ninth wonder.
Anyway, nine months later,
I was a father,
Cos I didn’t use the rubber.

                                       pilgrim

standing infront of an open door wondering whats on the other side
fear of the unknown, of being alone, goes racing through my mind
but i can't stay inside this world of filth and sin forever
so i take a bold step and push on through

the air is cold, the road so rough, i look around in fear
but a soothing voice calms me down and scarred hands draw me near
drop your load oh weary soul, your burdens i will bear
until you reach the end of this lifes road when i will dry all your tears

i reach the end, can barely stand but my friend carries me through
look up he says, look around, i made this just for you
and through the pearly gates we walk into a glorious light
as i hear the words "well done my son you've fought the good fight"

Welcome to the nation
where dreams never materialize
nowadays everything is being privatized
and my people havent realized
the government is running an enterprise
aint nothing like democracy
we so hungry
its making us crazy
that any small changes
we giving them praises
its sickening what u see on the streets
while u see them polisickos on tinted jeeps
we ve all gotta take a stand
because they all a bunch of hypocrites u see
so don't be decieved

My Pen and Me

Reminiscing of those days
Of Bazooka Joe
Funny how fast
People grow.

I was too shy;
Could never look you
In the eye
Always staring at my
Shadow, and I
Still don't know
How I survived.

Thought TV was real-
No one prepared me;
Still remember the time
Incredible Hulk scared me.

School was tough;
I found it hard to mix.
Real life was a fix;
I felt much safer in comics.

Guess I must have been a nerd
Always seen, never heard
As soon as a girl appeared
I couldn't speak a word.

I fell in love with my pen
Even before I was ten
Still remember some of
The rhymes I wrote back then.

With my pen,
I could paint a world
Where I could fit in.
A world I could live in
A world I believe in.

And I still love my pen!

I traced you down to your place
to find a space in your heart
but only to see your face blazing
as if we're on a race running for one trophy.
You look so serious
as if you want to sit for the next JAMB
All i want you to do is to embrace me,
then I will erase the chase of other girls in my mind
because your thought will replace and displace their moves.
