in my heart i long for u
yet i can't stand the presence of u

in my dreams, its u i see
but i can't imagine by me

u fill my thoughts all day long
even if i wont hear your song

i know it everyday that its u that keeps me awake at night
but my ego wont let me come and seek the light
now i can't go on for long with this fight
because am gradually losing my might
i can't stay ever so tight

because of you
i can't think of anything else
its u today
u the next day
and u any other day

that is a very lovely poem that actually x-rays my acts

i watch her while she's sleeping, the twilight when she dreams
the sound of her heart beating and the joy that it brings
her look, her smile, our meeting, the silent 'i love you'
such pleasure isnt fleeting, how can i not stay true
and so the journey begins, two souls merge into one
as we vow to still stay true, after all is said and done

the shouts, her tears, her heartache, the sadness in her eyes
my lonely walk, my heartbreak, when two lovers sigh
our pride, our tongues, our weakness
when we're  not at our best
our love, our care, our meekness
gets us through the mess

we laugh, we cry, we conquer, together we stand tall
and when we fail or falter, we love inspite of it all
friendship is a blessing, love the greatest gift
there are so many lessons, it isnt always bliss
but in the end we're grateful, that we never missed
the chance to say "i love you" and seal it with a kiss

SECRET ADMIRER

Solemn was the song
That we sang for long
When you and I
Tossed ourselves high
And expected that the moon
Will rise by noon

But the moon went yew-yawning
And left us to our silly groaning
Untill we came to this side
Where we can no longer hide
But of course we may
If we still find pleasure in going astray

Blind, is the song of the mind
When we refuse to find
A perfect rhythm of our kind
Or when our kind
Ignore the music in their mind
Leave us behind and choose not to be kind

That is the song that we've solitarily sung
Because we have refused to be hung
To each other in the matter of the lung
But I know it won't be long
When my secret admirer will harken to my song

I long.

DEAR MAMA

from childhood you stood by me
when life was rough you always stayed turf
with you i never had a reason to go hungry
some times i grudged and do things just to make you get angry
back then when i refused, you forced me to go to church
but now i see the reasons why a man needs a couch
even when you were ill, still you worried about me
if am in the rain you will stand along side with me
you wept when ever you see me sad
you renounced your pride to take care of me and your cousin's lad
11 days when i was ill, weak and sleepless at the hospital
you laid beside my bed praying for my revival out of hospital

i get scared any time you fall ill
because without you i have no zeal
you take life so simply, you have no time  for enmity
your care and love for all was never empty
unconditional love you showed to your enemies
a dime in your hand is worth more than rubies
you are the reason i believe in angels
because i have always treasure you as an angel
my love for you forever will never due
i will trade 2/3 of my heart to see you happy
treasure you much more than diamond
mothers like you are rear and never found common

Dear Mother

Dear mama
You mean so much to me
Memories bring me much love
You make life meaningful to me
You will always be my African queen
Because you are a queen of queens
Each time I grumble
You give me money, good message to merry around with
The tender milk you gave me makes me to be man enough
To mention, you gave me manners
Which is the most valuable treasure
It helps me when my morale is disturbed
You’re marvelous and also a maneuvering tool
Thanks ma'am

i don't think to rhyme all the time is a crime
but an ability for one to suppress anytime
it helps in squeezing out perfection in no time
and polish ones skills in rhyming
not like when reading for an exams and cramming
so justbones we need to fill you flow
something that will make us glow
like your nice user name fit for a real course
cause i know for real you are part of us

End of a drunkard
I wonder why beer has fully changed the heart of some men
That prefers to see people so dear to them
In tears in need of money
Running everyday like the deer
With fear in their mind so as to meet up with what they want
:
What does it pay a man?
Who sits on a chair at the bar saying cheers
With his fellow peer eating pears, squander so much doe
He can’t bear to give out to the needy
He prefers to fall everyday
Walk in a hap hazard manner,
Sneered by the younger ones
::
People stare at him;
From the rear view of their stairs;
Shaking heads because he’s moving
close to six feet under the ground

Easter is here again
A day beyond decorations and vacation
At relaxation centres
A time beyond celebration alone
but a time to think of the reason
Behind his resurrection
which He did for your salvation.
He went through so many temptations
And frustration for you and me,
Likewise for nations.
The sensation and emotions
Of His love for us is so strong.
I imagine His passion
Over us "His congregation".
He spent 33yrs on earth to spread
The word of life to the world
          Likewise to create/establish
          the foundation and formation
Of eternal life for you and me
Because He has prepared a reservation
For us if you can face every tribulation
That comes your way here on earth.
There will be no room for explanation
From every generation of the world
No matter your position.
There will be no room
For you to check the book of revelation
On that day of His administration.
Think about this
And put an end to every procrastination
And let your determination
Take you to His destination.

I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED THIS THREAD
PLUS ALL I HAVE READ
TILL THE THOUGHT OF LEAVING ANYTHING UNREAD
I AM BEGINNING TO DREAD

I`M NOT AN AUTHORITY ON RHYME
BUT WHAT I`VE READ SO FAR IS SUBLIME
AND YOU GUYS SOUND LIKE YOU ARE IN YOUR PRIME
COS IN YOUR WRITING THERE IS NO GRIME

I WISH I COULD DO IT LIKE YOU GUYS DO
AND WRITE VERSE SO FINE TOO
BUT THIS I HAVE TO RUE
COS WHEN I WRITE FOLKS SOMETIMES BOO

BUT I WON`T GIVE UP THE QUEST
TO BE COUNTED AMONG THE BEST
AND SO I`LL KEEP READING WITH ZEST,
, BUT NOW I HAVE TO GET SOME REST

It'squite a long time
that i joined you guys to ryhme.
Sometimes you just need to go off air
to tend to things that need much care
like preparing for an examination
that once hindered your getting admission.

Though once a while i'll pop up Cool
even if i'm not one of those on top
I promise to keep in touch
when i'm not busy reading in my porch.
Kudos to any rhyming nairalander
who keeps the thread moving further
though where Colors is i still a wonder.

Going through your pidgin ryhmes Acan
you depict the story of a true African
Moreso a typical Nigerian
who is ever proud of his clan. Grin
Just remember ''if you will you can''.

I know. . .
Don't ask me how
Because baby, I know

Wasn't it Emerson that said Poets can't keep secrets
But if you must Princess, gladly do without regrets

I bet, you kissed and told
But it's good you are bold

'Young mother', I might be wrong
Doesn't mean my point isn't strong

But I know
Princessa, that you kissed and told
If not so
Call me a toad

  SUCH IS LIFE.
I knew this damsel called Faith,
a pretty lady wit an absolute faith in fate,
used 2 be part of her local crew,
a crew that broke no rules,
and thou we had it tough,
we always had enough,
we kept d spirit,
and did no bullshit,
we've all moved on wit our lives,
living wit d/f vibes,
gone are d days of when we play and tease,
gone are d days of party and booze.
I saw Faith recently at Nigeria university,
she looked like a fresh kid out of elementary,
she aws near perfection,
i recalled Snopp's sexual seduction.
I miss Faith and d local crew,
wenever I go 2 a bar, 2 get a drink or two,
well, such is life
everything will be alright if you hold on
it's a struggle everyday, you have to roll on,
well, such is life,

rhyme zone will always be hot
because we all at anytime can take a perfect shot
though sometimes one has to pause
to pursue other just course
some of us had to go back to school
study hard to get a good grade while still in school
while some focuses or more important tool
like working so as to be independent
pocket full with doe, despite money already spent

though i might go off for a while
either way i will still have my rhymes in my file
every minute, everyday, i always think of something to write
i wish we all can do the same by doing what is right
that's keep rhyming so we can keep this forum tight
as i said earlier i will not relent
cause writing has always been a part of me
it can never be abstracted from me
but to keep me kindled
so hot, but cool to handled
keep it up guys for real
cause it has already been seal
that rhyme zone has the antidote to heal
every soul as they visit our crib

SO MANY

so many things to do
so many unfufilled plan undo
situations adding to the distractions
sometimes we anticipate for the future
but the atmosphere even our culture
has denuded and deprive us like nature
lots of youths hardly had good story to tell
life in the city is like living in hell
no physical flame but internal torment
out of fear the poor dare not comment
no light to keep the night warm
mobility a serious task to overcome
foods so expensive, no funds to justify ones purchasing power
the government sit down and dictates what to offer
i wonder how long the masses will still suffer
and if Nigerians will one day live like brothers

A FATAL EXPERIENCE

Jude was a good kid, finished secondary school with good grades
got admitted to university hoping to be a lawyer when he graduates
he one day got mixed up with a bad friend
not knowing it will lead to his dead swift end
he started drinking, smoking and had a scar
putting on expensive cloths, rolex watch and cruising a car
not aware of the implications that is attached
cause been a cultist is like a cloth starched, it doesn't get off until it get watched

mama started noticing changes in his behaviour
mom complains but son still lying that Jesus is still his lord and saviour
initiated with men of the under world
since then he never listern to any one's word
stop attending lectures and staying out late
mom with love still was serving him foods on a warm plate

one peaceful morning we were all in a relaxation centre sitting down
watching man-u and arsenal match debating which team will go down
five men with guns burst out and started shooting
before any one could make a move jude was on the flour shouting
blooding oozing, everyone running, i had to take cover
it was when i saw people crying that i knew jude was dead and jane his lover

though the people who did this were later discovered
but jude's life is gone and can not be recovered
and mom sobbing thinking what she did wrong
or was she singing to him a wrong song
not knowing her son has been living such a life for so long
we all knew, but after several warning, jude didn't yield, so we had to play along
a gene, a beloved brother had missed heaven were he belong
man has to be careful of who we call friends
because he can only live a resourceful life when has goodl friends
