From my own opinion, it is not good idea to have relationship with someone who is extremely possessive- - -it will not lasted longer in relationship. Read the following existing threads you will find the answers here:

Suggest you go to the video store renting two movies called "FATAL ATTRACTION" and "NORBIT". It gives you THE BIGGER PICTURE about how can a POSSESSIVE PERSON be. Be judge yourself!

Being possessive is a sign of insecurity and has nothing to do with love.  With possessiveness comes lack of respect, physical, verbal and emotional abuse.  This lady in question may never respect your feelings and may be used to intimidating and slapping men around.

Any woman that considers you her personal property does not love you.  Being possessive has nothing to do with caring.

The bad news is that you love her.  I guess the "possessiveness" is the main attraction to you that makes you feel special.

Goodluck!

What is "love", why is it important, and how are you so sure it can't co-exist with possessiveness?

Love is freedom of spirit and wellbeing, possessions are owned and can be sold at will.  Cannot exist together in any relationship that is healthy.

I would rather be respected, cherished, nortured and pampered.  That is love.  I never want to be a "possession" or have a possessive partner.  I can never grow in such an environment.  I do not want to "possess" anyone either.  While there should be mutual respect in any relationship, being possessive is not a healthy emotion and is for people who like to be control freaks!  Chidish I say. Most relationships with "possissiveness" often have people that are unhappy and feel trapped like prisoners.  What a sad way to live.  That is not love.
