since you are a newbie i suggest u learn a simple programmin language first b4 goin on to C. perhaps u should begin wit BASIC or python as it'll giv u an idea of how similar programmin languages really are. C is very hard especially for a beginner, so why not just learn javascript? it doesnt need a compiler and is very easy, far easier than its big dumb brother Java.

Neoteny, please I started with basic (im quite cool there now) and went on to C and then C++. Ive made few nicish programs. I use Borland C++ builder now.

Now, Im stuck with this screensaver prog. I dont know how to make the prog start on startup, disable any set screensaver (on windows) and on timer elapse, launch the screensaver, which I will save as an exe or powerpoint show (or both). For calling the prog, I tried using execlp and the entire exec family but ot no avail.

PLEASE, help me out here. Undecided

You might get help from codeproject. Type 'screen saver' and search by articles.
