voltron and superted

why's everyone waxing nostalgia about that dude of a robot?
sure, voltron was a monster hit in the go go 80s
but man i'll take the 90s over any decade to be a kid
yes, prove me wrong, but that decade witnessed the dizzying evolution of video games and  explosion of cable TV
which translated to a ton more options, more fun, and yet another reason to flunk my exams, lol @ lawyer

u guys are making me cry heavily. I did lots of crazy things in those days because of VOLTRON. I killed a dog with my bicycle on my way from school around 3:55pm, i repeat primary 5 twice bco7 of voltron, my brother was involved in an auto accident on our way back from school & i left him dying on the road just to go & watch voltron ( he died & i never cared because of voltron). I dey dream see voltron back then. The song is still very much on my head.

I also love superted & this cartoon of the kid from a little planet that comes to earth with a comet. "LITTLE PRINCE" I think that is the title. I love d song.

I loved watching VOLTRON. Methinks that the present day TRANSFORMERS and POWER RANGERS are copyright versions of Voltron-they just stole and duplicated the whole Voltron concept.

Even nowadays, guys who are do-gooders are referred to as "Voltrons", especially the 'Bobo nice' who claims to be escorting his female colleague back to the female hostel at night, in order to 'protect' her from the menace of cult guys.

LOL, i feel u man, i was as badly addicted as u were, i even told my baby brother that i had my own voltron lion and that i use to fly it over the school, poor boy, he believed me. then again, that cartoon made me catch an interest for science. i started trying to do many inventions of anything that comes to my mind and my kid bro grew up to join the dream, we both went on to become science students and join all kinds of science clubs or invention clubs and finally went to a federal tech university and both still digging in our science lives outside and within nigeria. 

Mehhnnn! I remember NEPA was too baaaad back then,I missed some episodes & school was a really sad expeience the next day.

to answer some of your questions, the wait for the blazing sword is to add affect to the end of the evil beast/ro-beast. as for the y the bad guys don't attack before it was formed. well, i have seen an episode where the ro-beast attacked and it cause it alot,  when the lions come together, there is this force field that is generated it is super hard to breeak through. how it ended, i can't remember but it was after they found the other guy, lance, who we thought was dead and was replaced by the princess in the blue lion. but can't remember everything for sure, if i do i will holla. 

Ahh,  Man, where do I start,

I was Blue Lion, we even formed a secret written language that could only be decoded by our Voltron Team.

I don't know if we are all really missing Voltron or our childhood. I'm sure kids of today will be raving about their play stations and pokeman in the next 15 years like we are now and similarly criticizing the tastes of the next generation. It's all good.

Sometimes most of the Voltron scenes have badly dubbed lines that would make one laugh if watched now in our era.

The one that comes to mind is  a scene  where Hunk (The Yellow Lion Pilot) and the rest of the Voltron Lion Team rescue a girl by the name of Twyla, an escaped slave from Planet Doom and Zarkon, Hunk wants to take the fight to Zarkon, but Keith nips the idea. But when that little slave girl plants a bomb in the missile room to blow up the castle and is stopped, the Kid Gloves are off, as the Voltron Team have to go up against,  Twyla's big (butt ugly) robeast Brother ( Can Voltron get out of this alive without any of us laughing ourselves to death?)

In this scene you have Zarkon cursing the Witch Haggar for her stupidity then praising her for her stupidity! and then in the Slave girl scenes Twyla  was saying "I don't want to hurt you, but if you don't stop chasing me, I will get my big brother on you, (and he's a robeast!!!) No Stay back! I'm warning you!!!,  Oh look ,Here comes my big evil robeast brother now!, He will kill you all! (then having Hunk try to reason with a robeast some 200 to 2000 times larger then he is,  Keith: It's too late for that,  We Need VOLTRON!!!!! " (blimey! what do  you think?)

Just repeat that scene where Princess Allura is laying out on a blanket, trying to get a strapless tan (and almost giving Nanny a major coronary in the process).

There were 5 lions-black,red,yellow,green,blue, which one come be pink lion??  besides na black and white tv set most of us get as at that time :-) i loved voltron sha .The black lion was my favorite-keith. because he forms the head and controls all the other parts of the big guy, ah the blazing sword(which is pronounce "suword" by many at the time) crazy thing would cut through anything even steel robots and the likes

Thank you all for bringing back the memories of VOLTRON. It was and is still the best cartoon ever not only for me but my other siblings too. Do you know we can watch voltron and forget about food. if i can get Voltron now even now that am married i will still watch it because am a cartoon addict so is every member of my family. VOLTRON FOREVER. i wish i can pass it as a legacy to my children.
