Power supply in Nigeria will take so long to improve because some people are making so much money in diesel.
1)For more than 8months ,they have taken our transformer to PHCN office 4 repair and we are not hearing any news rather than the TRANSFORMERS spare part is no where to be found.
Than simply translstes that you you buy FUEL every day or stay in DARKNESS everyday.
The new development is that we have to pay some amount of money to get a replacement.
2)My office is even the worse,we use diesel from 8AM to 8PM(what about that)
Ithink the government have to do something fast as reasonable amount of our gains are going to the filling stations .

the nepa or pchn situation is not as simple as it looks and is realli complicated, from the little i know of the situation there is a cabal controlling the generator market and will go to any lenght to make sure nothing comes out of any energy reforms as u know it is easier to destroy than build especially if you're making billions from the situation also i think yar adua hasnt got enough back bone to take a decisive step and do the right thing but just postulating and the end of the whole thing ll probably be a commitee who ll submit a report spend a couple of billions and forget about the recommendations, read in one of the nigerian dailiesa while ago that femi otedola said he s willing to spend millions of dollars just to make sure nigeria doesnt have a working refinery(i don't know if he did say it or not ) but that ll give the mind set of the few people profiting from the energy situation

In the mean time, try to get an inverter backup system, it is cheaper than any generator you may consider considering the fact that the cost of fuel/diesel is not static. However, if power supply is very very bad you may still have to do with generator even if to charge your batteries. www.justalternativepower.com provides a lot of relevant information on inverter backup solutions.
