Help, My Monitor Dosen't Show Red Colour
« on: December 29, 2007, 12:39 AM »

Could someone please help me out? I just purchased a tokunbo daewoo 518X monitor and since i bought it, the colour red has been appearing as black and it's affecting everything on my screen.
I checked the cord to the CPU and i discovered that one pin was broken but it wasnt even the pin for colour red but for +Vdc or whatever it's called on the manual i found on the net.
Is there any solution?  Sad

It's not like the monitor was Nigerian used; it still has the "foreign" smell if u know what i mean.
Besides it must have been in the right shape before it was sold or don't they run check ups anymore on tokunbo things.
If it is vexing you why don't you buy me a new monitor?

Sounds like the red color gun inside the monitor, has gone bad.
Give the monitor a hard kick!  Grin

this might sound funny but there is a good chance that slapping the sides of that monitor will work. i mean real slaps, yea as real as it would be if i came up to u and asked u out. also try hitting the top and do it while the monitor is on so u can notice changes. u shoulda tested that thing before buying it.
Cheers!

Slapping your monitor might work. It worked fopr me in the past. It possible your color guns are mis-firing or Your line transfomer might be degrading. Why not just get a better tested tokunboh one that will work fine (if you can't afford a new one). The cost of repairs might be almost close to getting another one anyway.

Have you tried color control knobs? Maybe something is wrong with the contrast.

Try changing your vga card, or cross test the monitor.
Or u smash the monitor on the ground and buy a new one.

How do u expect me to chande my vga card Shocked. Didn't it ever occur to u that i might just not be a computer expert yet?! Angry If i were i wouldn't be asking for help, would i?

Besides how do i cross test my monitor?
If i can't do any of these things maybe i'll just have to smash it to tell it who's boss and if it still dosen't respond, u'll buy me a new one. She bi?

cross test the monitor by trying it on another computer entirely. a computer that works well. if the monitor still has the same problem, then, i don't know. . . u could smash it at your own risk o, i'm not getting u a new one, no not now.. but if it works well on the other pc, u would have to chage your own vga card. u can call me to change it not advisablecall me at your own risk because i got other skillz apart from PC skillz. try google for my number Grin.
That would be all ma'am.
