Aliko Dangote Started Out Like An Igbo Man
« on: December 29, 2007, 04:18 PM »

We have discussed this more and more, over and over again and reach to a conclusion that one of the most successful businessman in Nigeria has an  Igbo blood flowing in his vein. with some clear and relevant evidence to prove and backup our conclusion.
He moved from Kano to Lagos with a very little money, borrowed money from his uncle to start building matterials that led to a business empire.
leaves his home town to another town to live as a lord even dominate it.
These exactly how Igboman does to to start life. and phisically he looks like them.
and his name ALIKO is as like ALIKE which means in igbo SOLID LAND.ALIKA meaning FORMIDABLE
my fellow igbos our brother is in another land.
                       NWANNE DI NA MBA
                             WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND DON'T RESPOND.
Am saying base on his business experience.

@Ozioma

Please don't mislead people. Firstly, Aliko Dangote borrowed 500,000 Naira from his uncle in the 1970's which was equal to 500,000 English Pounds them. So tell me, how is this a small money?

Secondly, Aliko sold cement in Kano for a very long time, he later moved to Lagos as a very made man.

Thirdly, Aliko Dangote of the Dangote/Dantata business dynasty is Fulani and not Hausa. Their is a huge difference between these to ethnic groups, the Fulanis even speak a different  Language.  Even the Emir of Kano H.R.H Alh. Ado Bayero, former President Buhari and our present president Mr Yaradua are Fulani's too.

I was born and raised in Kano State so I know about all these things.

I believe Ozioma is presenting this story as a metaphor, and not as a factual reality.  He is equating the enterprising spirit of Dangote with that of the Igbos but he might have been carried too far in his fantasy that he ended up screwing the presentation.

What origin can Dangote trace to Igbo land?  Undecided

Are Igbo people the only ones who leave their native areas to come dominate in Lagos? What would you say of the Ibru's? Or are they Igbo too? I don't really see what this achieves, apart from boosting the ego of a few and strengthening stereotypes.

Dangote is a successful man ALL OVER Nigeria, his largest Cement plants are geographically in the 'North', meaning he is 'dominating' in his own area as well not just in 'another man's land' (I wonder whose 'land' Lagos is these days anyways).

I see NO evidence whatsoever that 'Igbo blood' is flowing through his veins, whatever that is supposed to mean. He is simply a driven and successful individual who has made use of his connections as well as taken advantage of opportunities whenever they have arisen.

We all know how success is being achieved in our dear country, so being hard working can be measured based on your high connection with the man on top.
There are people like IBETO GROUP in NNEWI Engr. Izuogu of Z600 and some many more to count who are clibing the hill of success with some govt. set back instead of helping.
