A Very Short Story By Segun Williams
« on: December 30, 2007, 08:32 PM »

I watched him enter the room, tears dripping down his face.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
He needs not say words, his story written on his face.
My stomach cries hunger.
I give him all that is in my pocket and pray to God for food.
I watched him ride away in his navigator jeep.
He had just ordered some double burgers and potato fries.
I see a child hawker, I am shy to beg for some boiled groundnut but she gives me anyway. It tastes so sweet.
