Linking Up With Old Friends!
« on: January 02, 2008, 12:18 AM »

Shalom!

Happy New Year to you all brilliant fellows! It is my sincere wish that we all achieve our hopes and desires in life in this new year. This beautiful forum has served different purposes in our lives. Apart from the prospects of making new friends, for me, it has been a way of keeping in touch with home and sharing in the vibrant Nigerian spirit. Let's keep it up!!

Ladies and gentleman, i have gone through all the threads, i am yet to see something vitally important. The possibility of this forum serving as a way to link up with old friends and acquaintances - i hope the moderator has no objections. In these days when the world is becoming a global village and Nigerians are scattered all over the globe, i feel this idea is a good one. However, the purpose of linking up should be based on nothing but friendship and love, not to settle old scores. We need to agree on this right from the start.

If there are no objections, may i set the ball rolling!! There are many friends i often think about. These are friends of my childhood. Growing up in Nigeria was not easy and in the words of the immortal Bob Marley, "good friends we made, good friends we lost, along the way". To further para-phrase, you can never forget your past, no matter how rosy the future may be. To start with, i would terribly love to link up with a very dear friend, by name LARA OYEDELE. I sincerely hope that she is a member of this forum. We were very good friends at Ilesha, Osun State (then Oyo State) in the mid eighties (1985 - 1987). She was then studying for NCE in French and English and i was about rounding off my university studies at Ile-Ife. I know that time has really elapsed, but i can never forget this lady - not for her intelligence, wit and humour.

I would be most grateful if anyone knows anything about this wonderful lady. She hails from one of the towns in Ekiti and was born in Britain. It is most likely that she would be in the UK now - she did mention going back to Britain on completing her studies. It would be wonderful if this forum could link me up with this dear old friend!!!

May the peace of God be with you all in this New Year!!!  Smiley
