Hello my lagos hopefuls. Who knows what happening to the ikeja training school? We all know the other school are in session i.e Apapa, surulere and Ofada but nothing has been said about the one in ikeja. I stay very close to ikeja anybody who knows the address should please post it, i don't mind going there to see things myself. At least i could know when it ll finish its own present session and keep the house informed.

Hi all,
I have been following the posts on this forum for a long time but have not posted any comments till now. I am one of the Jos hopefuls. My friend was sent a mail yesterday for training in Abuja for the 21st of April.
I am currently a GA ( Graduate Assistant) with one of the higher Institutions in Nigeria. I intend to resign when IBplc calls, but my family wants me to continue with the academic field and shun banking. I am very confused and need your advise.
Thanks Ijay.

50 intercontinental hopeful were called yesterday in which 30 were frm abuja region and 20 from jos region. I was at the cadastral yesterday morning before they sent the mesg to these 50 people to start training at garki 2 . my people it is based on performarce, I heard this and equally saw it by myself. My people gradually the que is moving, it will soon get to you and me. so don't fear. as far as you had done medical and you were not called by them or frm the hospital you did your medical so I am being informed to tell u that you should relax yourself.
for my people in abuja, I want to recall your attention to when we did medical, I believed that we noticed that the medical took 3 days. first batch did their own on 20th Feb., 2nd batch did their own on 21st Feb. where I belong to, 3rd batch did their own on 22nd Feb. I want to let u know that all the first batch are being called. please if u are in first batch and u ve nt received your mesg please call them to know what is happen. so 2nd batch is the nxt in line but for now I cannt say when and where we are going to be trained.
please let us move closer to ALMIGHTY GOD is our helper. I want to say big congrat to all my people who received their msg yesterday to start training at garki 2. I pray that my good Lord will be with you all

@gbemierosi: seems your source is not so reliable afterall
@Ijaybaby: never knew they sent emails. thought it was an sms and call thing. I'm a Jos hopeful like you, i guess your parents want you to continue teaching considering the long run (time constraint, marriage etc) and the fact that you're a female, but only you know what you really want and so you alone can make that decision. myself I've got a moderately paying job at the moment, but it's not challenging, the prospects are low and it's just not my thing. once IBPLC calls I'm heeding right away.
@yosla: congrats my man, all the best.
@richydammy: that' the spirit (sharing) we need here man, nice one.
so let's say about 40 people have been called in all out of the 71 that were interviewed in Jos region. well from that and other permutations i strongly believe I'll be in either of the next 2 batches to be called. so we're looking at Lagos, Enugu or Port Harcourt. Ibadan, Jos and Bauchi are distant possibilities. God dey.

@ Jman
Feelers are that the next batch will be trained at Enugu and this batch will constitute hopefuls from PH, Enugu and Lagos. So, there is no need to despair. Inter will train everybody that has done medicals so the only point of worry is the time.
My prayer now is when inter eventually calls, we should be given some days to tidy up at our current places of employment. I pray it should not just be a one week thingy.
My Lagos Hopefuls nothing dey shele. We shall all go to training school albeit different ones.

Guyman, i really want to appreciate you for your answer. it isn't really easy not hearing anything about a particular zone. Are you from the south-south zone?your words were encouraging. there is one thing i know and that's we would certainly be employed but the questions that bothers everyone is how long are we waiting? i wish all inter hopefuls the best. it's really going to be a clique of smart & intelligent chaps in inter very soon because of what i read from your comments.
All the best and thanks.
P.S : all portharcourt hopefuls should still logon and drop comments

Thanks Jman. It's been a very long time somebody gave me props. It will be to your advantage to be trained in Enugu instead of Lagos which is thousands of kilometres away from home. Hoping to see you physically very soon. It is good we have started making friends before the actual training. Peace man

Guyman,
that's cool.
the truth is that i actualy reside in Lagos. You understand the Job thing?it takes people far. i missed the test in Lagos so i had to travel down to Ph where a friend submitted my CV. i do hope we see. Is it really true that one could change location after training? i am considering working in lagos if possible.
One Love.

@ Jman. How I wish we could swap or trade places. I detest working in Lagos. The other side of the NIGER would just do. Enjoy.

my people how una dey? long time oh, my starcomms connection been dey act up, and I've been busy. . . yes I'm in the Abuja training school!. do you believe i almost missed training! i didn't get the sms as they got one of the digits of my phone number wrong, but thank God for friends as one of my colleagues recognised my name in the class attendance/register list and called me. right now we're just 43 in school. 7 others didn't show up. we called some and i believe they not interested in the job any more. anyway training has been fun, couldn't wish to be anywhere else in the world right now. more so as we await our "suicide bomber salary" (as put by one of our course facilitators). don't worry guys you'll all be called, just keep you self positively occupied in the meantime. thanks for everything, i won't forget it ever! culled from http://www.traedays.com/blog/2008/04/happy-customer-happy-bank-happy-trae/Happy Customer, Happy Bank, Happy TraeIn the words of Durella “shout alleluia Papa God e don do am”! Yes oh, I’m now more or less a staff of IBPLC! On Monday I along with over 40 others started a 10 week training (Intensive Orientation Programme) at their Garki II branch in Abuja. We’re what are called Executive Trainees, on that entry level ish; but what’s more it’s all on merit baby! You see I’ve always loved IBPLC right from when I opened my first real savings account with them in my undergraduate days, so the step up to actually work with them is like on the dream-come-true level. This is how my journey went, it might have been quite long but it definitely was worth it: 1) October 1st, 2007: submitted my CV to a very close friend who’s in the system already somewhere in Niger State. 2) November 11th 2007: along with over a thousand others wrote the company’s recruitment aptitude test in Jos, Head Quarters of their North Central region. Rated my chances of making it to the next recruitment stage very high and had fun reconnecting with acquaintances from my NYSC, University and even Secondary school days. 3) January 18th 2008: Had my Interview and medicals along with 71 others in (a bloody cold) Jos. Rated my interview as having gone very well, and meanwhile enjoyed the youthfulness of the environment and the energy floating about. 4) April 21st 2008: after a very lengthy sometimes really crazy wait was finally called to start training/resume work with the bank. Do you know that I almost completely missed the training save for a very good friend (long story sha). Anyways I know Banking’s not easy and I’m now be having much less free time and lot’s more commitments but I’m highly positive minded and I’m ready to make every moment count. There are a lot of people I won’t forget in a hurry in my quest for the IBPLC job, I’m unable to name them at this point in time but from the bottom of my heart I want to sincerely thank you all. Peace, love and respect; one!

Hello Nairalanders,
Can someone in this house explain why Intercontinental bank is still mass recruiting and conducting several interviews when there is a backlog of hopefuls awaiting training? what are they up to? Have you ever considered that?
The wait is becoming extremely long and there are indications that some hopefuls may not turn up for the offer just as they experienced in some training schools.
Do any one have any idea on when the next batch would be called and where?
Let's yarn
