This is a heartwarming direction for the forum, but I'm concerned that friends made this way will bring more dissapointment than anything else. If you're particiipating actively in the forum and you notice an interesting person and decide to become friends with the person, it would be a different matter and perhaps more likely to work out well.
Just a passing thought, though.
