[b]Hi folks,u ar all right about UBA.By and large, they ar in business they equally have a lot of customer,so they don't seems to care about any complain at all. If only all could pull out, fine, but it is not possible as they have fanatic customers despite their poor customer relation. The trend will go on unless they decide to change. cheers.

uba is one of the most useless bank in nigeria as of now.customer service is zero;their staff r poorly paid which worsens d situation yet elumelu'll declaring huge profits for d bank.another case study is oceanic bank;their customer service rating is negative.very annoying.i believe their mgt don't know about this.to deposit into their acc is hell with long hours at the bank.i've resorted to online interbank funds transfer to credit/deposit into my acc.i used my intercontinental bank ATM on their machine installed at mega plaza.i was debited n wasn't paid n it has not been reversed since then.i'll soon close my acc wit them.d only good thing about them is d bank stock(for investors) evry other thing is zero.
banks wit good service ratings are:
INTERCONTINENTAL BANK GTB while others follow behind.

UBA is crazy!!!!, when I mean crazy, I mean confirm madness,
I have been trying to get my online banking, when I mean get, I mean written over 5 letters, called over 30 times running into over 5hrs, since february 2007, eventually, I had to dump them at the end of 2007!!!!,
Most Nigerian banks do not do their maths, they dwell into retail banking, when they do not have what it takes to deliver a reliable service, thats why I appreciate zenith, because they chose a target market and stuck with it.

If UBA goes down in Cameroon or anywhere, I won't be surprised. Do you know the number of havoc they have caused in Nigeria. In addition to all you have mentioned. I learnt they even charge 100 naira for using their ATM which they claim is free without the customers knowing. Let me tell you more. If you go to the bank to deposit money in a branch where your account is not domiciled you are charged 5naira per 1000 naira. so you can imagine a deposit of 100000 naira. If you go to withdraw in such branch without your ATM card and you present the withdrawal form isued to you by this bank, you will not only be charged for withrawing from that branch but also charged for using that withdrawal form instead of your ATM.
The worst of it. I went there to close my account the last time I visited the branch where my account is domiciled only for the lady to attend to me with a very big grin on her face. she asked me to go to a brach I never had any business with. after so much stress I went home disappointed again.
In short The bank is in big time trouble if this trend is not reversed.

Yes, in terms of service delivery and customer satisfaction, they are useless, but yet still remain one of the biggest banks with assets (and liabilities) and a large balance sheet. I bank with them and when i decided to bank with GTB, they treated me shabbily and i gave up, probably will head to Zenith!

UBA has what it takes to be one of the best in Africa but they are so retarded (old school) in their banking systems. After opening a domicillary account with them the next thing I was told is "we don't transfer money to forex accounts".
I can't say much about customer service but technologically (ITwise), they don't improve @ all.

i quite agree with you, this bank should be scrapped. their staffs are mostly cheap old ladies that av HOT BLOOD running in their veins! so sluggish and unfriendly!! they deduct too much money on savings if withdrawn where is not your domicile. av experienced them in Sokoto where i served, Kaduna, sagamu, oregun, ketu, etc even at the newly opened ikorodu branch. they are all the same thing(spoilt eggs). the bank is noted for QUEUES.banking hall like a market, system always down, ATM( out of service, visit any other UBA branches) etc. i just pray they change and improve before they loose all their good customers.

I think the major problem is that of staff renumeration, because when a staff is been treated unfairly in terms of take home pay especially their contract staff, it will definately reflect in their service delivery. TOE as pupolarly called is a slavery master and except he changes for the good, then the worse is yet to be experienced.

I don't know why we are wasting time reviewing this UBA BANK. They claim to be driving force in AFRICA. but to me they are no where near the micro finance banks.
The issue here is that i have this IN-BORN HATRED for UBA and ZENITH. That started when i wanted to make my school fees payment in 2004. The lasy that was meant to attend to me had to tell me to my face that i was crazy for not writing the date.
Then i was just 18, and having got admission into the higher institution, i had no place for anger, but i have lost interest in the bank.
After that incidence, i was asked to send money to a friend, i went to the same bank and picked up a teller, after filling it, time to pay, to my utmost surprise, i was given another teller to fill, which they called VAT. I wondered why i would be asked to pay some money for sending money. I don't know if they still do it, but the truth is that I WILL NEVER BANK WITH UBA,

I was beginning to think maybe i was the only one that had a problem with UBA. I deposited #380,000 in my account but in another branch of UBA. Imagine when i went to school to pay my fees from my account, they deducted close to #5000 from it. I was so angry that i requested an explanation from the bank manager. that was when i was told that so as long as u don't deposit or withdraw money from the branch in which u opened the account, certain amount would be deducted from your account. it was a terrible experience

i quite agree,UBA is a useless bank,i don't use it but i have friends that does,if you withdraw from ATM,u get to see torn naira notes and again ,somebody sent a friend of mine money from bayelsa and they charged her #20,000 because they saw it was a big money she had to quarell with them till they now had to settle for #7000.can u imagine that and the person have already paid all the charges down. coming to being customer friendly,u don't expect them to be when they are not been paid well.i have a friend that we finished university together, she has not gone for service yet and they employed her with her OND result she was happy atleast she has a job before service.is a terrible bank.a lot of people having been complaining.the customer care department should do something before they loose all their customers

OPEN LETTER TO DR TONY .O.ELUMELU ,AND HIS EXECUTIVES MANAGEMENTS.
Dear Dr Tony .o. ELUMELU ,AND HIS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENTS.,
I am delighted to write you this mail to congratulate you on all your numerous contributions towards the progress of Nigerians youths , west Africa economy and the world at large. it takes me time to praise people whose value have not be proved . yours is far difference . you are a God sent to Nigeria and she ( country Nigeria) will for ever be grateful for all your contributions : in education, empowerments; social welfare and your charity. I must not waste time in congratulating you on the award honorary doctorate degrees by the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) during the institution’s 37th convocation ceremony on Saturday March 1, 2008. which you was awarded long side with Chief Mrs. Olutoyin Olakunri, the Chairperson of the Education Tax Fund and Engineer Ernest Ndukwe, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). You dedicated the award to the Youths of Nigeria, urging them to have hope, believe in themselves and remain steadfast to their dreams. “Hope and self belief are essential ingredients to success. Eschew bad behavior, have hopes and remain focused in the pursuit of your dreams and you will surely succeed in whatever you chose to do by following a concrete line of action,” those are your words. I will like to stress out the word you used : Eschew bad behavior! Before the end of my mail. Let me also congratulate you for the great step you took in giving birth to UBA Capital (Europe). You are ion deed a man of focus .last year 1-2 august 2007; you gave a key note address titled CREATIVITY—THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL IN BUSINESS. Which was delivered at the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN. You spoke well on the subject matter and I do like your definition of the word : creativity .in your definition you defined creativity as the act of birthing an idea; ability to transform imagination into reality. Below are your quote : “my personal goal has always been to debunk the myth that “ nothing good comes out of Africa” thus , at UBA we ve made it our mission is to create a true Africa success story, which will be a role model for other African businesses. a key player in the economy , we have made ourselves relevant in the economist in which we do good! with 13,000 employees we are one of the highest single employers of labor in Nigeria after the government.” My brother I agreed with you 100%. May I be humble to point out to you that you being were you are today is as a result of your hard works and strong teams you work with and God on your side. Many strong men has reach the limit you are today and even Gone higher but because of lack of staffs characters examination on the side of management to monitor their staffs and listen to public complies and advises such great men end up falling that will never be your potion in JESUS name .rather those that you gave job for them to have hope and want to destroyed the hard profile you have will be the one to be destroyed and fall. That Remains me of the word you used : Eschew bad behavior .I will like to bring to your attention the deviant acts of most of your staffs, I will From Time to time be forwarding my Reports even along mentioning names of the involved staffs.
I feel bad in public places when issues that involved UBA is mentioned in a bad way , you need to see how prude most of your staffs are to mentioned how wickedly they use the power you Boston on them to deal with other co-staffs without any error that have to do with your banking policy just personalizing matters on issues.
In your south bank I will advise that the senior staffs work in sweet union with others, carrying the junior ones along.
In your North Bank You have a strong team of banking operation personals .most of them are young old STB brains.I have respect for the North bank operations department personal ,do some of the old UBA staffs in that department are still not performing well but with the young brains of the old STB staffs in that department the sky is they limit.but your internal control staffs (NORTH BANK) Have good Hands but those of them that are not yet up to assistant managers should not be allowed to head a team of control banking supervision They should be exchanged or transferred, replacing them with capable hands or rezoning them. as most of them does not even know why they are been employed and well paid for. let me use this opportunity to extend my warms regards to this great men and women who in hands contributed to the success stories of The great UBA PLC.
MR CHIKA M. MORDI .FAITH TUEDOR-MATTHEWS, GODWIN IZE- IYAMU. SUZANNE O.IROCHE,PHILIPS ODUOZA,VICTOR A.OSADOLOR,DAVID T.ISIAVWE, ADEKUNLE M.ADEOSUN; HENRY O.AJAGBAWA, IBRAHIM JEGA,NNAMDI OKONKWO, OLUWAGBEMIGA O .KUYE,OLUWAFEMI O OLALOKU.
In your Lagos zone they are doing great. more praises goes to your UBA FOUNDATION. STAY BLESSED . Yours truly, Dr Ben Johnson.
