@soulmate

l was using pregnacare before my doctor advised me against it, said until l conceive, that l shoudnt use any any of such, unless normal multivitamins.  However, l am against my doctor's advise but just have to obey him for a reason.

@ doc in the house

Hello Doc,

Please my January period was on 20th and the February on the 14th, please when are my likely to be ovulating.

Secondly, i don't have all the signs of ovulation and confirmed i may not be properly ovulating by test.  I was prescribed for clomid from the second day of menses.  I am through with the clomid but while taking the drug i never felt any signs like what others complain when they take clomid.

When day exactly can ovulation be present? How do i check this? Have been trying conception for one year now.

Just wondering do you happen to know any nigerian igbo single educated polished men that are single and searching. I am 27 years, so preferably someone in the early to mid 30s.

@fileki
It is a common misconception that the number of children plays a factor in SS.  It doesn't.  As a fellow AS, your chance is 1/4 with every single pregnancy.  Hope this helps

@crazyp
A cycle can change by a few days.  Her period still came within the 35 day time span that is considered normal.  Some women also skip their ovulation on certain months causing a change in the color of the flow.  Reassure your friend.  If it happens again, then she needs to be evaluated.

@treasureJ and mypeace
I went online to look up ovulex information
The list of ingredients doesn't show anything that I would consider harmful but the information on the site is questionable e.g the strength of the uterine wall has nothing to do with miscarriage, normal cycle 28 days.  I also personally objected to the fact that most people lay the blame for infertility at the woman's feet.  Up to 40% may be male infertility, 40% female factors and 20% unknown.

Sorry for the delay once again.  Why were you placed on clomid?  Also, not everyone will have the same reaction to the same drug

@chii
It is possible but extremely slim chance that the egg will survive for two whole weeks.  There are no adverse effect albeit a slightly higher risk of PID

@soulmatebj and mypeace
I personally prescribe prenatal vitamins to my patients BEFORE they get pregnant for two reasons, 1, they get used to the routine and 2 I am sure that they have adequate essential vitamins that are necessary for the babies development even before pregnancy

Thank u doctor.

@soultmate

lf its only during ovulation period, l would have said there is no course for  alarm, because l have such pains too during my Ovulation period and it stops immediately after ovulation.  So for me l call them ovulation pains.   But if yours continues even after ur ovulation then,

@soulmatebj
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 2 things I can think of that you would need antibiotics for with lower abdominal pain would be a urinary tract infection and pelvic inflammatory disease.  Once again, what did your doctors say you had?  A UTI would not affect your fertility but PID would

@soulmate

My situation is related to your own.
I got married over 3months ago, since then I never got pregnant. I even got married as a virgin. I first experience the pain middle december. I even thought i was pregnant until i saw my period again, but the pain still persisted. I later went to see my doctor, who counselled me to go for Ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that there was no abnormality.
I later began to experience the pain again. I went back to see the doctor. Another Ultrasound scan was conducted, and was informed that i have PID. How I could have gotten it is still a misery till date, because i got to know that PID is a complication of untreated PID, and my husband is not the flirting type.
I later on went for Vaginal Swap so as to know the causative organism, but the result reads Candida Albecans. I believe candidiasis is a fungi infection and has nothing to do with PID. To affirm the result, i went to another hospital for Pelvis Scan and Vagina Swap. The scan also revealed PID but the Lab analysis revealed Candidiasis. My doctor showed a form of confusion, but placed me on Doxycline for the period of 2weeks. i am currently on the drugs, but the pain still persists

@Doctor,
Can you please help us out? Can i really have Pelvic infection? if possible, what is the way forward. Thanks in anticipation.

@soulmatebj
Ovulation pain is called mittelschmertz and there are some women that experience this pain.  As for what impact your "infection" has on your fertility, I just don't have enough information to advise you

@9ja4ever
Infertility is termed lack of conception x 1 yr without a pregnancy.  You can have PID without a positive swab.  I would wait a full year before alarm if your are <35yrs
