I was at Computer Village on Saturday, at SLOT, to be precise and was told that it can not be re-configured. It can only use glo sim. So sad.

Thanks all. Though I have been to SLOT Saka Tinubu, V/I office a couple of times but  I really wasnt familiar with their Ikeja office, I only met one of the guys in red Tee Shirts on  the shop floor, never even knew they had engineering department upstairs. Will surely try it and the other companies suggested by Dragnet. I really appreciate your efforts.

Finally, I got an engineer who reconfigured my Glo Blackberry to accept MTN sim at Saka Tinubu. It took barely ten minutes and its been cool since then. Once again, I thank you all who contributed and enlighten me on this. Cheers!

It was done for just N4K. I had earlier called someone at Ikeja who insisted on N10K but I felt that was too high.

emm sorry i saw this very late next time download the firmware of the blackberry device
\1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
the vendor file is the operator file

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.
