Setting Up A Cybercafe: Detailed Requirements Please
« on: April 12, 2006, 04:44 PM »

Please can people react to each of all these questions.I am really @ a crossroad to invest in cybercafe in Ikare, Ondo state

Which ISP is the best?

How much can  VSAT equipments and installations of this best ISP cost in Ondo state.

Does the server & modem come with the VSAT equipment charge or we need to buy them  separate?

Can I buy the VSAT/modem/server in Canada and then get ISP in Nigeria for installation/subscription in Ondo state?

How much will be monthly bandwidth subscription to the ISP?

Probable Cost of new Standby generator with very powerful kva?

What is:
Broadband AND HOW can one choose among several broadbands?
  Monthly Bandwidth Access Subscription
Bandwidth AND HOW can one choose among several broadbands?

VOIP internet telephony system, does one need to buy this separate in addition to Internet system and how much can this cost?

Mayoo,

i would have love  to  send  the  mail to your  message  Personally  but  it was hidden  to the public  for  view.

I had  all   what  you   said , i have  been on this  firld  for  4 years  plus  and i  do internet  connection,  networking.  The Issue is  this  you  have  to  becareful for the ISP.

1. The  best ISP   so  far witha  driven technology  now is Netcom Africa
2. You are  going  to  use a  Vsat  of 1.8m Dish, with  cafe  subscription 512/256kbps
3. The  Client systems  are  going  to Piii (P3) for  effeicient browsing,
4. Standby Generator I prefer Denyo from Japan  i haver  their  Distributiors  here in  Lagos because is  the  world   Super  Silent  Gen witha  durability that  can stand  the test of time.
5.  A  CyberCafe Room must be  cool Always  with 2 1/2 Hp Air  condition
6.  A Technical Know  how  a  Computer xpert.
7.  I ama  computer Engineer  i have  the knowledge  to  do this  for  you  but it's  left  for  you.

8.  If  you  get  the Vsat Equipment  from Canada, you  will  need  to  get  an installer  here which  you  are not  sure of their perfection. That is   the  main reason why   you  make a  choice  within reach.  I recommended  Necomm Africa  for  you. i have  the  wholeProposal  with me  here in.

Sir Mayoo,

A  Word is  enough for the  wise.

You can Contact me  for this offer
Thanks  Jimmy

Dear Mayoo,

The people who have spoken to you are marketers and not professionals. You and you alone, need to decide on all their proposals. But here I have a few questions for you to give you a pointer to your decision making.

1. Are you a computer literate person, or just a business man?
2. What prompted you to want to invest in a cybercafe?
3. What is the ON to OFF ratio of PHCN services in your area?
4. What is the business activity volume of related cafe(s) around your proposed area of operation?
5. On 2 above, was your reason to invest by advise from someone or your own desicion?
6. Finally, how much time will you have to invest in the business?

Send your answers to the above questions to: avsuresolutions@gmail.com, here is my cellphone number, you may want to call me personally 0802.315.5677.

Bros what you intend going into is a very heavy project, please  i would like to inform u to do a proper survey before you invest in it, because you would need to spend good money for that project to et rolling. I'm not trying to discourage you, the business is a good one but you need to know the intrises of the business before you go into it, where you gey your ISP from does not really matter because you would till go thur a Nigerian company, just pray u do not fall into wrong hands. The equipments come together all you've memtioned come in one package. let me leave you here we'll talk more later.
Thanks

Wow!,

I saw they bombarded this guy's head with solicitation. I really applaud Naija with our die hard sale attitude, keep up the good works fellows. One thing though, I think the guy is now confused on which one to choose.

What I would suggest to him is that he should choose equipments that can be easily and inexpensively serviced, and have his contract well written and supervised by a lawyer with all areas of concern clearly drawn out with remedial details to all contingencies printed in bold letters. Don't cut corners in purchase and installation, have everything warranted. If any one comes and tells you they have been doing this for whatever years and you can trust them, be careful even if they memorize the whole bible or quran. Make sure everything is properly documented. Good luck

I NEED A RESOURCEFUL INFORMATION

I am so used to nairaland, and when the strike action is over, i am afraid i won't be able to talk to narialanders, because my school is located in an area where there is not fixed wireless connections and the alternative is to go to a public cyber cafe which i dislike,

I have a laptop,  but how can i have internet access on it so that i will be able to connect to internet from school

Hi mayoo

Everyone has adverstised their company in one way or the other. All the companies are good. Mind you if cost are no object , then they all should be taken into consideration. What you need is simple , get a NETCOM VSAT from their office or their reseller but i think it's better you get  from reseller. Don't ever contract your LAN to any company, or else they bill you like white. A lot of guys are right their within  that locality which i believe would do clean job for you. I don't belong to any of the company mentioned earlier but i have had bussiness contact with almost all of them. The recommendation is based on my experience in the area VSAT installation and Cyber cafe set up.  Best of luck

@ babaklazz,
babklazz solution to your problem has been profered for long by the GSM operators in Nigeria. With just a modern connected to your laptop and a simm inside, you can browse anywhere there is MTN network in Nigeria. So, I suppose there is MTN network in your school, so you can get connected there just with a modern and a simm. browse at any coner, any location, even in your village or in your car while on travelling. The charge is just 12k per month payable to mtn. Meanwhile, they charge 27k for the modern, 13k5 for first month payment and 6k5 for activation to limited access.
Just walk into any MTN customer service center and make the request. I have helped some people to get it (corporate guys) and collect 60k. In case you don't have time, u can link me up indomitable76@yahoo.com
