I have not asked anybody and will never anybody to change his or her stance on any opinion.
Secondly, i have not exonerated the media from some of their ill reports, neither should any well meaning Nigerian keep mute on the big thieves in Nigerian politics. We will keep shouting until an effective anti-corruption laws are put in place.

Those who raised alarm then are still alive and are still with some of the proofs of the loots. (the petitioner and some other groups are example). Even though the new government will still disrupt some evidences. He has not even made public how much the government is owing.

There is no way that the people who know these things can continue to cry and cry for justice and no one hear their cry before it is too late. There is absolutely NO WAY. I mean at least the media will have heard of the person's cries and even when it the deed has been committed, they will refer to the warning cries and even the evidence provided to use to get the thief in the end to pay up and pay for the crime.

I'm sorry, but this is laughable Grin. This is Nigeria. A lot much scarier and glaring things have happened in Nigeria, ranging from IBB to OBJ, billions of dollars were stolen in broad day light with evidence, people have been shouting and nothing have been done.

This same media who puts up "false report".
Well, the media has written and aired some of these petitions during and after the 8 years tenure. The fact will always remain that they are trying, but they will never make much difference as most of us are expecting. This is because the anti- corruption agencies are still dependent and ineffective.

You can also Google the state web site if there's any to find out his achievement and compare it with the money allocated to the state in 8 years. The internally generated revenue, grants, LGA allocations and loans are not included.

Also, if you Google "Dr. Sam Egwu," you'll fine how some of the media he's bribed, is quick to boast about how much of a good leader he is. But say that you were a traveler searching for a five star hotel, or you even wanted to stay at Sam Egwu's hotel, the first thing that would pop-up is that the hotel was purchased with public funds embezzled from the state. This is good exposure, because people worldwide should know the truth and nothing else but the truth that Sam and Eunice Egwu are thieves! Greedy thieves that are walking free. The biggest 419ers who orchestrated a monumental white collar crime deceiving and cheating to plunder the state's coffers, and that they got greasy and fat with the people's money!

To me this is the excuse we have used over and over for decades now to not do what we as the public have to do to help move Nigeria forward if you ask me. Nigeria is nowhere close to Russia when it comes to cover ups and what not so trying to make it seem that it is that scary in rubbish. Nigerians need to play their own part. Give me a situation where someone actually collected evidence and put it forward and continued until everyone heard of it and made sure all the world knew of it but nothing the government to this day did nothing and I will cave. Nigeria is not even close to being a mafia state yet. Even those who commit these crimes are themselves afraid of being caught and they do not have as much guts as those in countries where those who oppose the crime lords get killed off. The Media is not all corrupt. The media has a place to play. This same media helped in the passing of a new bill just last two months in that same country. I am not sure if a lot of Nigerians where following it but a group here in the USA used the same Nigerian media to get a bill passed in senate in their favour. I am not all gloom and doom when it comes to the media or Nigeria. I believe there are people out there who want to see things changed.

Having petitions printed is one thing, We live in the digital age where these people can be investigated and shamed even online. Catch them on tape making these deals, print emails and phone calls of these illegal transactions being made and tell me what president will sit and watch this go uninvestigated now that Nigeria is a democracy?? Come on. Nigerians are not as stupid as you think they are. I remember back in the days when people will take it on themselves to do away with these criminals if the government did nothing. I remember times when governors had their houses burnt down for crimes such as these. Nigeria may be corrupt on some level but not all persons in leadership roles are corrupt and we need more move from that end. I have seen a couple of these petitions myself printed by the media. I am working on one myself with a group here helping. It has for the most part been with not much evidence but more accusations being made and not much more. Printing that over and over will not do much but when you open up the books and reveal much more than just claims, the court will be forced to do something about it and that is what we as nigerians need to start doing.

You can not underestimate the power of the media in the world we live in today. Over here, shows like To Catch A predator , 48 hours and other crime report shows have led to the arrest and prosecution of hundreds of criminals. From senators to criminals who walk the very streets we all walk each day here. Even Sites like YouTube have been used to get word about criminals out and gotten the police to do something. This may not be the way we handle it in Nigeria but it is not  bad if we can use such.

Most of the solutions here are good but how does all these work in a society where a large number of the population are illiterates and doesn't believe in NTA or use Internet?

First things will have to come first:
Having a leader that will have the strong will to make way for a strong, independent  and efficient anti- corruption and anti-criminal laws and institutions. This will in turn bring to book any person that messed up irrespective of his or her status immediately.

People like Ibori, Igbenedion, Dariye, Nyame, Chimaroke etc are walking or will soon walk free, because of the lack of political will of whoever is in-charge to build strong anti-corruption laws and institutions.

Whichever ways, only time will tell what can or what could have worked for Nigeria.

IT is all UP To NIGERIANS like YOU AND I. There are millions of us outside of the COuntry who can right now come together to force the hand of government down there in Nigeria. There are millions more right there in Nigeria who can decide today to no longer accept crap from the government. Time is not the answer. We are the answer, are we going to do anything or continue to make excuses instead of applying the solutions which happen to be right in front of us??? Who knows??? In the end, the people are to blame. I remember decades ago, all those people you have listed would have been running for their lives but today because we are not doing our jobs as citizens, they walk around free and feel they are entitled.

They say once beaten ( or is it bitten) twice shy!!! We have been beaten/bitten so many many times now, for us to continue to wait for the "LEADERS" is what I consider amazing. We are Nigeria, we are the ones to get the ball rolling. We are the ones to get Yaradua to do what we need him to do for us. Not wait for him to remember to do it for us.

Of course people would be held accountable if things fail to work in Nigeria. Time has little or nothing to do with this. Time will only tell which set of people this will be; maybe the media, Yaradua, leadership, Ribadu, OBJ, IBB, Zik, Awo, Ojukwu, Asari Dokubo,Gowon, colonial masters, EFCC, inefficient anti- corruption laws and agencies, a true orange revolution by the people, people chatting on nairaland or lack of Internet access for the populace.

The soil and it's fertilizers are corrupt. So uprooting it wont do any good. Speaking of fertilizers, this Dr. Sam Egwu got a PhD in Agriculture. I guess he should know all about corruption being in the core of the soil and its fertilizers.  Grin

Elite Caution Elechi On Egwu's Hotel
FROM LEO SOBECHI, ABAKALIKI
EBONYI State Governor, Chief Martin Elechi, has been warned against buying the Grace Court Hotel and Suites from the immediate past governor, Dr. Sam Egwu, so as not to be seen as colluding in the pillaging of the state.

Addressing newsmen in Abakaliki, yesterday, the Ebonyi Elites Council, (EBEC), said plans by Egwu to dispose of the hotel, as a result of pressure for the ICPC sanction, should not be helped by the state.

The group, led by Chima Nwiboko, said it would amount to money laundering for the state government to acquire the facility, when the state-owned international hotel was abandoned by the former governor while in office.

However, the immediate past Special Adviser to Egwu on Media and Public Affairs, Dr. John Otu, said the former governor never planned to strike the transfer deal with Elechi. He said the call by the group is nothing short of political mischief-making and rumour mongering.

But Nwiboko said the former governor was making frantic efforts to sell the hotel to the state government for N4 billion, in a bid to escape the judgments of Ebonyi people and posterity.

He expressed outrage at reports that Egwu carted away four armoured vehicles purchased for the use of the state chief executive, as well as withdrawing the best drivers from the Government House pool for his personal use.

Otu, however, said members of the group were motivated by envy against Egwu's towering credentials and the fact that the former governor is highly favoured to clinch the post of National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

John Otu has even commited the worst crime by openly trying to cover an eight years pregnancy thats full of disappointments and blasphemies. Posterity will never pardon him and his generations. One message to you Otu, never forget  that everything is on record. I know you understood me very well.

But for Egwus, nemesis will soon overtake them. Fellows, the really did "evils"

What Nemesis?? Instead make we get up and do what God has given us brains to do we want to wait for nemesis?? Has nemesis caught up with Babangida, obasanjo and the many others who have over the decades continued to steal from you and your children??? When will nemesis come?? When our children die off miserable and hungry??? Please people,  nemesis is only going to come when we take action and fight for our right. Heaven helps those who help themselves. That may not be in the Bible but it has been seen as the way things will work for the people of africa.

Well,  maybe in the other side of the world it happens that way but in Nigeria that does not seem to be happening much. I mean if you look around you these old men we see today have been at this game from when they were young and they are still at the same game and now have grand children and great grand children that have now joined them in the same game while we the people continue to seat to wait for nemesis to do something about the situation. Over this same period, millions of us have died hopeless lives, miserable lives. Many of them cause of ordinary medicine not being available cause these thieves have stolen most of the money that should have been used to provide these drugs. Many have died hungry cause these men and their children have continued to boldly loot money that should have gone to educate our children and provide them better futures and lives today. NEMESIS is taking it's time. Infact, who knows if nemesis will ever come for them but we do know that we can do what we can to make sure we get justice and when nemesis get's here, he/she can give them more punishment. I say we fight for our right and fight fast before these goons start dying soon. I mean they are already old and near their graves.

In late 2006, i was telling people that Sam Egwu is the most corrupt governor in the South Eastern Nigeria and i was almost beaten. Sam is a media gov and not an action one. In the media, you will hear that sam has done every thing, on ground, he did nothing. In 1996, he was the most sport loving governor in the south east, on ground, Ebonyi is the only state in the south east without a sports stadium, the only state in the south east without a sound football club, then how is he sports loving. By Dec 2006, Sam has bought more than 100 chieftancy titles from different parts of Nigeria. Among all his peer governors, he have the highest numbers of traditional titles. In ranking in reverse, i will rank him second to Edo state.
Look at this
In Enugu - Chimroke, constructed roads, built houses, cottage hospitals, 2 high institutions etc
In Anambra - Ngige did very well on road project, prompt salary payment, etc.
In Abia - Kalu did well on roads and paid salary promptly as well, transport and health sector recieved big boost.
In Imo -  Udenwa was doing PDP with his money, he did very well in educational sector though
In Ebonyi-Sam had no singular opposition, a short road project took 3yrs 6months to complete. The work force of entire Ebonyi state is comparable to work force of Enugu North LGA or Onitsha South LGA or Aba North LGA, then what was Sam doing with his money.
I lived in Ebonyi for more than 3 years and it was terrible. No water, no good road, nothing.
Sam was only settle the power brokers in the state and put the rest in his pocket. The only single project he could not even finish is his housing project.
EFCC will not see this because he is Obj annointed son.
God help us.

i can toast to that. my family know the egwus and for the things that he's done they're very inhumane. he first stole the people's money, build his own private estates, wasted money taking trips to foreign countries that were unneserery and on top of that sent all of his kids to colleges overseas. he bought houses for all his kids over seas while in collge. between the usa and the uk sam egwu has 5 houses who i overheard my family members talking about. and these are not small time houses. these are huge houses that rich white people buy for theireslf. he is a bonified thief. anyone can easly locate these house if they wanted. there's nothing secretive in the big countries the only thing you have to do is look it up through information. again, he's got foreigh accounts all over the place. he's so filthy rich from the people's money that you can smell the filth of him being a multi millionair. drive up to his house. see how many cars he got lined up over there. security in every corner. he is living like a prince. him and his family. the house is huge. but he is under surveillance because so many people don't like the evil he has done and to make things worse his attitude behind it. ask everyone where are his kids now? they are all in the uk going to rich expensive universities that they would not be able to go to if sam egwu the blood sucking parasite did not still all that money as governor. for security reasons continuining to talk about sam egwu may cause my family harm. you mentioned that you were almost beaten to death in 2006 so i don't want to put myself or my family in danger. you already know how nigeria is. there is no security and we risk our lives everyday by going out in there streets. but i can tell you now that sam egwu will pay dearly for what he's done. the world is watching and everyone knows what he has done. he is not stupid either. sam egwu drives around with a goom squad. he has an army driving around with him all the time. his corporate thugs are his motocade. the man loves power. i wished eceryone here could have internet access to express the thoughts they had about the beast sam egwu because they would be brutally honest about what really goes on in nigeria.
