@gbade. x,

Brotherly. . . Lol. I just dey. Been busy the past few weeks - from holiday to school. Fortunately, acada outside Naija is not as stressful (unless you be lawyer like my sista!)  Cheesy

Sunday has been beautiful so far - I'm going back in the p.m. for another service to honour a friend's invitation at theirs. And you??

Quote from: gbade. x on March 11, 2007, 01:02 PM
Jesus can't be the Redeemer and The Condemner at the same time.

I'll have to agree with you; although I agree as well with the persuasion of Backslider in the sense that the UNrepentant stands condemned, and not the repentant/penitent.

It's hard for people to make the distinction between Jesus as the Saviour NOW and as the Judge in the FUTURE. I'm still learning and growing; but I'm presently persuaded that the judgement is yet future as in I Cor. 4:5 ~ "Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God."

The UNrepentant do not stand condemned before God IMMEDIATELY after commiting a sin (except the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost). If that were the case, perhaps the one we know as the apostle Paul would have long been smoked out the first time he rejected Jesus as the Messiah and consequently sought to persecute the Church. He confessed that, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief" (I Tim. 1:15). Did the Lord Jesus condemn Paul as the chief sinner? I'm rather persuaded otherwise.

Instead, Paul was to rejoice in the very next verse by saying: "Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting." (verse 16)

May we have the grace to see and apply this pattern of the redeeming love of Jesus Christ to those He seeks to save rather than condemn.

@GBADEX MY BELOVED BROTHER

I AM NOT TAKEN BY HARDS WORDS.

TO YOUR QUESTION THE REDEEMER IS JUST AND HE WILL NOT REDEEM ONE THAT IS NOT WILLING. IF THE REDEEMER FORCEFULLY TAKES THE SLAVE OF SIN. THE REDEEMER IS NOT RIGHTEOUS THEN.

THE REDEEMER HAS CONDEMNED THE SINNER BY LEAVING THE SINNER AS A SLAVE TO SIN. PERIOD

BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT CHRIST IS THE SAVIOUR DOESN'T MEAN WE ARE ALL SAVED. SO LEAVE BABS787 OUT OF THIS BABS COULD REPENT TOMORROW AND BE BORN AGAIN ON HIS WAY TO HEAVEN. THAT IS WHY I WILL NEVER BE A STUMBLING BLOCK TO ANYONE IN DEEDS OR WORDS.

THE REDEEMER IS THE CONDEMNER BECAUSE WHO ELSE WILL REDEEM?

JESUS CONDEMNS SIN AND SINNERS

I don't understand u bro backslider. Jesus is the Redeemer, the one that came to pay for our sins with his precious blood, taking up on himself our sinful nature and init judged and condemned sin itself.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (King James Version)
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Romans 8:3 (King James Version)
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Now that is not to say we still don't have sinners in the world today but . .

2 Peter 3:9 (King James Version)
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The grace of God is available and his mercies never run dry but are new every morning. If man were God, surely we would have been condemned long ago. But because of God's love, he sent his son to the world to pay this debt of sin that brings condemnation.

Romans 5:8 (King James Version)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Man was made in the image and likeness of God before sin came and seperated man from God. This however, did not make man valueless before Him( u could squeeze and dirty a bill of naira or your cedi, it would only look dirty and unacceptible sometimes but the value still remains the same with a mint of same bill). Our lord Jesus said. .

Matthew 13:44 (King James Version)
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Christ did not die for christians for christianity is the product/fruit of redemption. He died for the WORLD. The Field in the ref above denotes the world, and the treasure;the people init. God seeks to save and not to condemn. He is wisdom, he can't save us to condemn us. its sin that brings condemnation on a man that is its servant AKA sinner- The one that is not yet saved.

God is love, love doesn't condemn but seeks to make right.

It feels good to read from y'all without the "fightings"
For they'll know we are Christians by our love.

The Bible is indeed a 2 edged sword, that's why different people can preach the same message from different perspectives and yet achieve the same result.
There's time for the sweet "Jesus love you and bids you come gospel" and there's also time for "He is a consuming fire  gospel" and they are both right, they both have their purposes and I'm sure souls have been saved hearing those 2 sides.

Always remember brethren that we ought to correct one another in love.
We are all at different levels of growth. Some of us are still drinking milk and attempting mashed potatos while others are already swallowing fufu and chewing uncooked stockfish.

Though i do know about Christian Games. If you are familiar with Tim LaHey's "Left Behind series", there's a game of it, though i haven't played it. I think there's a trial/demo version at www.jc-tv.org.

I would suggest the man himself. Just like any one wanting to know God would ggo to God, wouldn't they?

I would further suggest you discuss ideas, doctrine, concepts and the like, but not people. At least not more than incidentally.

You'll find lots of knowledgeablwe people here on NL (religion) who are willing to share with you.

God bless

Seun, your link to Pastor Chris Interview does not work. However, you guys should stop criticizing God's anointed. For God gave the attributes of those who truly come in his name to preach and cast out demons, and Pastor Chris possesses all that. STOP BEING CRITICS. I have learnt alot from him and my life has changed since I started attending Christ Embassy. God bless you ignorant critics.

In the bible, lives changed when they came across the power of God, today lives change when we start attending a certain church. One wonders what christianity has become. cult worship?
