i just joined and i seem to have lost my way. How do i post a thread?

@All new members who have difficult finding a button to create a new thread.
How to create a new thread:
1.) First select which section (forum board) you would like to create a new thread.
2.) Click the "New Topic" button, do your thing the similar function as you reply the message. (see picture below)
That's it!

HELP please: I'd like to say that I was really looking for button for starting a new thread, but it's not there. Really, I am not dumb  ) Browsing the forums, found link which should work the same as that button, but it says: "Error - you cannot post a new thread in this forum." Is something wrong with my profile or what? Thanks ECART |

Oh yeah, now I see! One cannot start a new topic until he writes at least one reply in another topic :o)

wouldn't that just be nice. i have spend the last hour trying to create a thread - even using your link but kept getting the error message, 'Sorry, you cannot post new topics in this board'
so, what do i need to do to create a message / topic on the forum.

@ dominique, yeah, i concur ooo, this site is highly addictive, im dead serious, i think seun has put juju on this site, he needs to be probed. it is so bad now that nairaland.com is one of my 3 default IE7 pages, aside yahoo homepage and wikipedia.com it started out as "oh,a naija forum, nice, let me join".  then, the denial stage: "haba, its good to be proud of your country, patronise naija stuff, including websites" then, i wonder what new threads they are posting at this time"  then " let me even see if they have replied to any comments i made yesterday on that site sef" now "let me rush my breakfast so i can start reading wots new on nairaland" i once got a voice memo at work for "chatting on nairaland" but in all, it feels good to kno you're a vital part of a community and your opinions count. i don't regret a bit of it, not even the voice memo good job, Seun the militant, and his team thumbs up |

Hahahaha I see almost every new member has the same issue. But what happens when the actual "New Topic" button is no where to be found? I mean, not an error or nothing. It's just not there.
Does replying to any topic bring it out? Hmm I'm about to find out,

I think when u are a new member . . it takes a few hours or a day before u can actualy post a new topic. or after u have replied to a topic. It shows u are now active. don't ask me why . . . ask seun or any moderator  |

Yep it did come out. Never mind then.
Nah, don't think that's why though, Busta. 'Cause I signed up here in March or something like that. Tried starting a new thread but couldn't find the "New Topic" button. Left and came back today, May 20th, and it still wasn't there lol.
But I see it now, and it works. Guess all I had to do, like someone stated before, was reply to a thread. Thanks though.
