I hate to take pictures cause I still don't understand what it is meant for. Instead, I prefer video. You have any reason for snapping pic?

~Am a complete opposite to you then,i LOooove to take pics!!!not only of me but people,places,things~infact i take a pic every given opportunity,thank God for digi cam  my love for pics cud also be because photography is one of my hobbies/interests, but on a more personal reason,i think pics tell a story!!besides i want to look back when am much older N say "dam i was hott!!  ~Most of all,when i socialise w/friends on a gals night in,it's such a laff N great company bringing out my collection of photo's,there's always those embarassing fashion flaw pics,y'll remember the days of knee length socks w/shoes  still can't believe my mum made me wear those w/ my party dresses!! Lmoa,mind you i wore it proud N tall back then,my fashion sense now makes me go "Aarg" ~There's also special moments on almost any/all occasion w/ family,friends,each pic has a different era in my life,i can reflect on those moments,flicking through my pics! ~I suppose growing up w/ pics of me when i was a baby through all my b-days N other social occasion/outings,i kind of felt the need to continue aving keepsake albums! i always say, "i wish it were possible for me to capture every special moment of my life!!" ~Ave got tons of Video's too,but those i tend to watch more w/family! |

why many people love photography (especially me), is because we live our life in a stream of time which is constanly flowing. It is one of the very few elements we have no control over. we can only measure and observe it. photography is a way of capturing time, and preserving it. When a picture is taking, it is almost like stoping time and then taking a look at it from a diffent point. it give a certain reasurance of identity and personality "i was here,i am me, i lived my life. Time is forerver reminding us that live is short. and i think that we all humans know that. When we take a picture, its like an ability to temporarily have control of an element we have no control of. Wheras video is just another sad reminder that time is ticking and life is shour, because once again it captures that flow of time.

Picture = smaller file size, short time to take, less prep work, easy printing, lasts longer considering printed material (maybe shorter processing), quick result
Video = smaller file size, need, dvd or player to show people if no internet connection is available. video format may be outdated. locked drive, spoilt media.

Uhm. I wonder why you are worried by the way, you don't have to take it if don't feel like. It not a crime friend. I myself don't have much pix yet just about 4 (excluding passport photographs), not ready for all those stuffs yet, got better things to do.
I'm so free, don't have any girl to bug me for all those just yet (besides, girls are more interested in money).

One of my regrets today is that I did not take enough pictures of me growing up. Its good to see what you looked like at different stages. Pictures are good historical assets.
