There is no hope for Nigeria. If we must win then if possible we should

invite Enyimba FC of Aba to take over from the supper ( food) eagles
.

When I said people this dissing my nation, now has it not come to pass?

What else can we say, ? that Nigeria vs mali match was the worst and the first goalless match of this tournament. What a shame. Shittu tried, so did Mikel but I feel as though he is not playing under the right coach or Murinho has changed his style of play. One thing, sha,, he has improved in his shot taking skills. There is more power and accuracy in it.

Yakubu no carry shot for leg, Utaka is lazy, Obafemi was always off target, Olofinjana, mmm, he was just there, there is nothing creative about him or his style of play.

The whole team is a joke ( the Under-17 guys) would have done better. Vogts should be sacked with immediate effect because he lacks vision to take the team forward. Even if we make it through, I don't see this team winning accolades.

NFA should stop relying on past glory, even brazil dey struggle nowadays, they know they have to keep their level of play up.

I feel so sad and just one look on Betti's face ( I mean vogts), and you know that the team lacks passion and team spirit!

There is no way NIgeria is going to qualify even if they manage to beat Benin. Ivory Coast will for no reason beat Mali to favour Nigeria; they are both Francophone so they help by playing draw

Agree with you,but Ivory Coast might want to top the table so that they can meet with a not too strong team which will be second on the table.

Cote d Ivore would not risk their key players getting injured in an inconsequential match so they would definitely field their second team.

Any team would have done that, remember Nigeria vs Paraguay in France 1998 when we fucked Spain up after they beat Bulgaria 6-1 so its Payback time.

No francophone conspiracy theories here.

Yes.But why for God"s sake do we always wait to be in a tight corner first.Look Niger players don't know what is called professionalism, what they do is try and error. They are no good,na only to make shakara to babes and we way never travel go jand before.

Not even to talk of the Francophone issue, i'm sure Nigeria is not a team Cote D'ivoire will like to face again. So they will do anything to cancel all possibities of playing against Naija.
Another thing is that after Group one have concluded their matches, the Ivorians will have the chance to decide who they wish to meet at the quater-finals, so if their favourite opponent come 1st; they will surely play come second, kicking Naija out.
My people this is the end of the road for 2008 let's put ouur minds on the Super Facons, the Dream Team, the Flying Eagles and the Golden Eaglets.

It's so pathetic. So Nigeria will be bundled out in the first round? That's the first time in 26years! And to think that scoring has suddelny become a problem for N-I-G-E-R-I-A! It's clear Berti's style sucks. He lays emphasis on defence. Wetin we dey defend abeg? He was a disaster with Scotland and people said there were no talents there. But when the 'apari' left, ALEX McLEISH almost qualified for EURO 2008. He scared France and Italy both at Hampden Park and away!  With abundant talents here, he has shown he lacks ideas. He kept throwing attakers into the fray because we needed to score. But he was too dumb to see that the prb was in the midfield. Mikel played well again, above average. But in my reckoning, he never did what we expect him to do - play as an ATTACKING MIDFIELDER! (God bless AUGUSTINE AZUKA OKOCHA!) He was playing same way he does at Chelsea. So who distributes the balls to the strikers? See Seydou Keita, Yaya Toure, Didier Zokora et al linking up with their attack. Damn! We can do better.

Kudos to Danny Olushola Shittu (I've always had confidence in him), Taye Taiwo (he's upped his game and now better in one-on-one situations),
who else? Hmn,  For now, i'll divert my attention to CIV, Egypt, Guinea and Mali.

Eagles greatest undoing was to allow the Malians to dictate the midfield play. Our marking was very poor. Our players did not just contest balls at all in the midfield, may be they didn't want to sustain injuries. It also appears the referee did not protect our players at times. Mikel is not a solid midfielder. He doesn't tackle well, doesn't win 50-50 balls, and falls down too often. We played too deep in defence and too many strikers upfront leaving our midfield open for the Mali players to dictate the match.

I don't think we will qualify.

Vogts should NOT be sacked. It will amount to starting allover again.

i wont be the 1st person to say that our players are over hyped.and i blame the nigerian sporting press for that(brila fm,complete sports, today sports, soccer star, etc)
want to know why, its because they raise the expectations of nigerian football fans, the tell lies on their front pages.their headlines read thus

WE WILL KILL DROGBA-----------kanu.
IVORY COAST WILL FALL_-----martins.

MALI WILL SUFFER------------------utaka.

Its just so pathetic,
OUR NIGERIAN PLAYERS NOW VALUE MONEY BEFORE CARRER ADVANCEMENT. THATS WHY U SEE THEM MOVING FROM RENNES TO PORTSMOUTH,MACCABI TO PORTSMOUTH.INTER TO NEWCASTLE.THESE PLAYERS ARE NOT SUPER FOR GOD'S SAKE. STOP HYPING THEM.

LETS JUST FACE IT,WE ARE NO LONGER IN RECKONING IN AFRICAN FOOTBALL. MORE THAN 180 MINS PLAYED AND YET NO GOALS.
BERT VOGTS SHOULD KNOW THAT BY COACHING  NIGERIA,HE HAD THE CHANCE TO IMPROVE HIS C.V,  BUT HE HAS LOST IT.HE IS AN AWFUL COACH.

OVER 80 MILLION NIGERIANS COULD SEE THE FAULTS IN THE NIGERIAN TEAM THAT PLAYED MALI(OLOFINJANA,YAKUBU,NSOFOR),BUT BERTI ''BASTARD'' VOGTS SAW DIFFERENTLY.

WE ARE DOOMED.
