Dear Sir,

With reference to your postings on the nairaland forum of July 23, 2005, I hereby apply for the free domain
registration, hosting, etc of the domain ==.===.==

I want to use the domain and website as my personal blogs where I can write and posts on issues relating
to communications and mobile technologies and related issues.

I am currently doing same on my blog http://diakim2, but there are some limitations as to how I can make the site appears.

Besides, there is always the fear that one day, someone may pull the plugs from the site and then all
my works and efforts will be lost.

Therefore, a free personal domain and website will help me to pursue my internet interests with full
freedom as to the contents and formats, and also eliminates the risk of losing everything I have done.

I will greatly appreciate it, if my application is given a favourable considerations.

Faithfully Yours,

Felix Adebayo
(aka diakim)

Interested in your offer.

I'm going to use the space and the domain name (==.===.==) to host
what i already have at http://c0dec.150m.com.

joftech Jul 29, 2005 1:27 AM
Dear sir,

I have longed to have my own domain name and website running for sometime now but for the fact that I don't have a credit card with which to make payment. Also I don't really trust all those adverts for web hosting in the newspapers.

When I joined this forum I was impressed about what I saw and it really make me happy (Seun keep up the good work), at least there is a place where I can rub mind with people that have like and diverse mindset with me.

Presently I have what I can't call a website (since am squatting), www.joftech.8m.net . Am never too proud to show it off to people because it does not make me look serious, and that's one of the main reason why it's in a state of disrepair.

I hope to redesign it and make it look snazzier, although am not good with Flash yet, I hope I can get some nice templates though.

Preferred domain name is http://==.===.== , I hope to start an ISP (my ultimate goal) in the future.

I hope I get to clinch this free stuff.

Thanks.
Joseph O. Fasoyinu.

tcherokee Jul 30, 2005 1:35 PM

hi,

well right now I'm trying to get my business off the ground, i'm into web design and i'ld really like the free domain name and hosting space to be able to do a personal portfolio site, where i can keep works i've done, ongoing personal projects and ongoing business projects. I hope i'll be considered for this "Promo".
The domain name i'll like to register is "==.===.==".

thanx a mill

pkrix Jul 30, 2005 5:33 PM

I'd like get a .com domain.

The site name should be "==="

I'd like to tell my friends and the rest of world the world about me.

sirbuddy  Aug 1, 2005 3:31 PM

Dear Seun,

I thank you so much for your offer of a Linux website account hosted in my name free for one year.

Infact, I truly appreciate that nice gesture from you on behalf of Nairaland and it will help me to unviel my dreams of adventures.

So coming to the reason why I need a domain in my name and its intended usage, I will be stating it below:

1. I would like to open a website with this name: ==.===.==

2. This is because I am art inclined and would like to get the voice of the man in the grassroot to be heard all over the world and let the people know the pains, sorrows, discriminations, rejections faced by the man in the street(Poor Man).

3.The site if approved, will be home for solutions to the numerous agitations, dreams, aspirations and everyday life expriences of every human being here on planet Earth .

4. I will also eandeavour to relay to the growing world population some of our arts in pictures, writings and positive creativity, through which I believe that the world will see beyond the cloud that they thought is covering Nigeria, there are many silver linings with our own positive contribution to reforming Nigeria.

Well, I hope that I have made my point and I also believe that I will be granted this singular/great honour of having this website.

I look forward to your positive response.

Yours Faithfully,

Anthony Chuks Ifeoseme.

bolu Aug 4, 2005 5:42 PM

I intend in ==.===.== to extend the cause I am passionate about on the world wide web. The passion
is to raise a generation of people with commitment to the will of God, and to see His plans greatly fulfilled in the present generation. This shall be done through publishing of communique, generating discussions on issues of particular interest, and announcements of christian programs with inclination towards this cause e.t.c. I am particularly pleased with this development, and hope to mak the best of the opportunity.

Quote
You can point online contacts to your personal website when they're asking you annoying questions like:
- What's your name?
- Where do you live?
- Where do you work?
- Are you a web designer?
- Do you have a blog?

If you interact with bloggers, it's helpful to include a link to your website/blog in comments so they can check you up a bit before e-mailing you if there's something you can help them with in exchange for $$$!

Seun these are my reasons Thank you

Out of all the people that applied, we have shortlisted two possible winners, who would be proud owners of the new domain name and website.  Those two people are not in the above list, so if your name is in the above list it means you did not win.  The winner(s) will be announced very soon after I confer further with kayode.

If you applied for the package and your email has not been published above, then you're probably going to win, so feel free to start celebrating! Grin

Intentional Beauty Website (IntentionalBeauty.com)
« #2 on: August 05, 2005, 06:41 PM »

Below is the application sent in by the first winner of our Domain Name & Website Competition, Nkechi Ikegwuoha (emphases mine)

Compliments of the Day,

My name is Nkechi Ikegwuoha and I am a member of the Nairaland (Job) forum. I would like to be considered or given the oppurtunity to have a domain/website with the name "Intentional Beauty" because since I started job hunting, I decided to empower myself by making ladies beads, Jewelry.  I've just moved to PH and have no friends, so I feel with this, I can still continue my passion of making women's necks look beautiful by reaching out to a wider market.

I am sure I could post pictures of them and connect with potential buyers.  I am also a lover of Poetry so i can express my self and give people too a chance to post their poems with also a chance for people to comment on what they see.  Intentional Beauty not only means the jewelry I make but it also talks of the things within us that gives that Intentional Beauty (which is something God has intently put in all of us).

Thank you.

Some of the reasons why she's a clear winner in this competition:
She has a clear and worthy vision for the website, is a rare species (female entrepreneur),  can obviously express herself well, actually needs the domain and seems likely to succeed.

Congratulations, Nkechi, but you don't seem to log on to Nairaland as often as before.

Re: The 1st Free Domain Name & Website Competition
« #3 on: August 05, 2005, 06:51 PM »

The second winner (runner-up) of this website competition is rufaai (Ahmad I. Mukoshy).  Here is his application.

Dear Sir,

I would like to create an educational website with My Personal Researches, School Assignments, Resumes, Certified Documentations, Educational Qualifications and Personal Datas.

I would like to register: www.clueboy.com (Its Available)

Thank You.
Ahmad I. Mukoshy

Why he is a winner?
- The domain name he has chosen, clueboy.com, is a really good one!
- He took the time to check for availability, so we feel he's technically proficient.
- His site embodies our original focus - personal domain names and websites.

Congratulations, Ahmad.

:'(wish i could have gotten one) too. Anyway I'm really happy for you guys that won. If u need any help with designing a site, I'll be happy to help out, For FREE (frontend only). PM me and i could give you a list of websites I've designed in the past to help you make your decision if the free aspect isn't good enough Grin. Congratulations once again.

I have a partner company that does my backend for me and I'm not sure i could convince them to do it for free, that is why I'm saying front end only.

NOTE
This is only for the winners of the competition (My own little 2cents to helping their dream).

I think they're lucky. Particularly clueboy. Nkechi sure deserves one, putting her cause into consideration.

And to you tcherokee, how much of a front-end design can you deploy? I think I'm going curious here but I would want to see your portfolio...any weblinks?

Thanks Everyone Wink,

I rejoice all together Cheesy.

Back to you seun, i don't think you can judge us at a moment. Nairaland.com is my home page, so i see no reason why you said i don't attend Nairaland.com regularly Cry.

It seems, its because i have not posted anything since i won the competion, The reason was that, my internet connection broke down for two days now. Since yesterday i had no connection  Cry . It was just today's Night that the connection was back...

So, Please. you should try to confirm things before you say it out... Am sorry for posting it to the forum, its because i have to. I just want to erase out that thinking of yours.

Am sorry... All together, I am happy... SHOUT OUT

Please don't give nkechi's web site to anyone retain it for her.
You never can tell what made her not to respond.
She might have a cogent reason why that happened.
I want to believe God it is well with her in Jesus name.

Maybe she thought we gave her the prize because we wanted to go out with her or something, and so she thought she could behave anyhow towards us.

Frankly I regret that I influenced Kazey to make her one of our winners.  I'm not a rich man so when I give something out I expect at least some appreciation.

Of course she deserves it - that's why I recommended her - but she is also an unappreciative &#$%# and I wish she didn't win the domain name and free hosting.  I've given out at least 4 prizes before (recharge cards) to people who are older than her and none of them has ever been like this.
