The poster of this thread is not unique.  I believe everyone has a preference, but this particular tendency to think white or light is more beautiful is obvious self hatred that remains from years of European rule, opression, domination and many continued feelings of inferiority.  In America, many black people are somehow mixed because of slavemasters lust for black (African) women.  The children that resulted from these affairs were lighter skinned and given preferential treatment (if you can call it that) by their white owners.  They worked in the house serving their masters, while darker skinned (pure Africans) worked in the field toiling like animals. 

Slavemasters used skin color to create disunity and jealousy among the slaves.  I am taking a quote from

I am sure colonization of Nigeria and the presence of Europeans had the same effect.  Blacks will look at themselves (skin color, hair texture, shape) as inferior to a more European standard.  I just wish that we were more aware of where this self hatred comes from.  I think if the majority of us new our history, we would begin to love ourselves more than them.  Ignorance is blind and it looks like the brainwashing of years passed is still quite prevalent today.

When it comes to light v. dark and which one is prettier, I don't judge by skin color, but rather the details.  That is, your features and overall look is what I look at.    I do like clear, even-toned, skin, but these qualities can be found in all skin colors and races.  As for the pictures posted of the light skinned persons, not all are physically pretty, if we are only looking at the physical.  Some are pretty and some are just okay.  Being light does not translate to automatic beauty.  So, stop fooling yourself whoever started this thread.

sorry but light skin women burn up in the sun and there facial features always look funny

one day we will rid afrraka of half breeds i have 1000s of years of documented proof that they have caused nothing but crimes and confusion for us true afrakans.
