Nigeria coach Berti Vogts said his team will qualify for the quarter-finals despite their 1-0 defeat by Ivory Coast in their opening Group B match. "We have lost against the best team in Africa," said the 61-year-old German.
"But we will be back. Two years ago, we lost the first game and we qualified for the knockout stage."
Nigeria are still to face Mali, who they now trail by three points, after Freddie Kanoute's penalty gave them a 1-0 victory over Benin.
Do the nairalanders believe in what this man is saying because there is big fear.

well, I am so optimistic that Nigeria is going to qualify for the quater final, Those guys were not in their best performance at all. Kanu should not have played a full match, instead, the second half only. Odewengie should play the full match, but what a misplacement by vogt? Nigerians feel the absence of JJ Okocha, no wonder the Nigerian midfield was nothing to write home about. thanks to taye taiwo for his excellent defensive play. Lets be optimistic and believe vogt. Though it will be tough to qualify but not impossible
