Hi all, I was just wondering Between Facebook and Nairaland which would you prefare. Its no news the rate at which the facebook book bug has swept through the nation with almost every secondary school, university, state, group being represented. I even think you can get more info from facebook than you from Nairaland, the best is getting in touch with people you have lost contact with from the numerous network availabe anyway, i still prefare nairaland i only wish it could get more of those features facebook has. What do you think?

Hello, I do not quite agree with some of your assertions. To be honest, it all depend on the purpose you use each avenue for. And more importantly, your target audience. If you intend interacting or marketing to a specific group or market locally, nairaland is better. But if you target global /international market, then facebook is ideal. http://www.consumerbehaviorbook.com I agree with u WisfortI don't even think there's a basis 4 comparism

There's no basis for comparison. Facebook is way beyond Nairaland. That's not to say i don't appreciate Nairaland. Afterall, Naira first lol.

They serve different purposes entirely. FB is for social networking,NL is for discussions on various topics and issues. Naturally, people prefer fun and funky places,FB has this more than NL. Personally, if I'm asked to choose one of FB and NL, I'll go for NL because it makes my day more than FB. With due respect, I know alot of people who will not join NL just because they are less intellectually inclined and can't argue or debate. They prefer fun-filled FB. Conversely, some other people, especially the elderly and well-read, prefer FB to NL for that same reason-that is, NL is just full of young guys and gals that are too 'small' for them to engage in intellectual argument. This is why we have the likes of Pat Utomi,Bella Adenuga and some Senators on FB. I was surprised when i saw one Punch columnist, Joe Adeyeye, quote NL in one of his weekly articles.
By the way,I personally gain more from and so prefer NL to FB, but I know many Nigerians,by our nature(flashy, colourful etc), will prefer FB to NL.

Yeah really, i dont think it shd be compared. Facebook is a global social networking site, NL is for us Nigerians and is a discussion site. Tho, of late ffacebook has become so annoying, the amebo there is just too much! Now everyone knows everyone's biz, you get me?

You are comparing a social networking platform with a forum, I dont see any basis for comparison. There is a lot that can be done with Facebook and there is high increase of users from Nigeria which will soon out number nairland users. Cehck the statitics here http://faizbash.wordpress.com/

It all depends on what you are searching for, for instance talk about research and getting true and wide picture about people opinion on an issue concerning Nigeria I will go for Nairaland but when am thinking of playing or socialising I think facebook because it's a good buddy on that -

They're both okay but I prefer nairaland more. The reason?, Nairaland is more educative and informative than facebook.Nairaland has helped me to double my millions. This is where I first knew the Naija stock exchange was back and I had to make some researches and invested and it's helped. Thanks to nairaland.

I totally agree. anyway, facebook has more photos than Nairaland, obviously. After all, that's specifically what it's for.
