He should have played Utaka on the right, Odemwingie on the left (so he can cut in and shoot) and Kanu just behind Martins. Martins will stretch their defence and Kanu will drag the midfield further up so that Mikel's creative talents can come through. I feel sorry for our midfielders and defence. They work so hard only for that fat fool Yakubu to mess it up. Mikel should hurry up and come home to Chelsea.

1. vogts does not know the players he does not even know the skills of the players eguavoen would have done better
2. How would u prepare for nations cup and u went to Spain to train that the weather is cold and the boys are drinking water round the field

Of course, Berti Vogts knows he is leaving. That one is a guarantee. The NFA will be happy to find a scape goat nto cover their ineptitude and greed. But the question remains, what next. Firing Berti does it actually solve the problem.
We got beaten by Cameroon twice in two different nations cup (one in our backyard). Was Vogts the coach then?

The common denominator that has remained from one disaster to another is the adminisrtation. Call it the NFA, Sports ministry or the League board. That is where our major problem lies. Not the coaches and definitely not due to a lack of talent in the nation. If a coach like Westerhoff can win the ANC with the super eagles and his assistant Bonfrere can win the Olympic gold , it tells me that any coach in Nigeria can succeed in Nigeria. We are that good. All we need is just to figure out how to administer properly.

Removing Osaze in this match defies logic, common sense and any football strategy whatsoever, especially not when Yakubu was simply of no use in a match we desperately needed to win.
Guess what, our destiny is out of our hands. whether we beat benin 100 - 0, Mali and Ivory coast will simply play draw to see us out. You can trust the Francophone Nations, they will gladly do that hitjob for free especially when it is Nigeria that is at the recieving end.
But all through the second half I tried imagining what Austine Eguaveon will be thinking, while he sat on that Bench. An ex-Nigerian Captain with playing experience accross Europe (leaguewise) with World cup experience Nationally as well as a 1994 African cup of Nations Gold medal.
In his debut year as coach he took the Super eagles to the Semi Finals, but we did not think he was good enough for us because he was one of us. He was relegated to assistant coach because we need a foreign coach.
A Foreign and white coach is hired we are on the verge of not qualifying from group level.
Guess what as a Football fan am partly angry, but yet partly happy for this development. May be we may finally understand what guided SANI LULU's decisions, we will understand whether it was simply motiveted by greed.
At this point sacking just Berti Vogts is just not enough, as that amounts to simply replacing your monkey with a dog in which an animal that stoops is still within your neighbourhood.
We must overhaul our NFA, take football out of the hands of politicians like Sani Lulu and Obaseki and hand it over to those who love the game, played the game and served our Nation playing the game.
