NFA hired an under-performing coach, who was losing with the Scottish National team and expect miracles to happen when he started to coach Nigeria.

Anyway, the way I see it is that he intentionally lost the match so that he can get out quick with his bonus of $1.5m, and escape from the jaws of corrupt NFA officials who are always reported to be collecting bribes from foreign coaches.
