Yorubás come show your proverbs skills

Yorubas are well renowned for their use of proverbs or idioms in expressing themselves. Let us build a catalogue of these proverbs with explanation in English language so that other tribes will appreciate how rich our heritage is.

There was this proverb in Yoruba that was translated to me to mean:
Some one you can't deal with yourself, you send God after him

Does anyone know the original proverb in Yoruba?

Itumo re  ni pe: 'Eni ti a ko ba le mu, Olorun ni a nfi le lowo'

My own proverb is: itakun to ni ki erin ma wo odo, ti oun ti erin ni o jo lo'
Meaning: the taproot that stands in the way of elephant will go along with it, i.e no obstacle can stop the elephant because of its might

A ko le ni tori a fe je eran, ki a pe malu ni 'buoda"
direct word-4-word translation: "i can't say because i want to eat beef, i should start calling cow 'brother'!"
