The last four names are taken from a popular TV show in PH when I was little. Maki or babymine should know it if they were in PH then.

For Ibibio sites, you could go to my site: http://www.geocities.com/myibibio

For others, a quick google search wouldn't hurt.

Hmmm, considering the people who post questions, answers of which could be found on google, I wonder if I could start a company that does nothing but google searches Wink

you must not be yoruba, b.c it doesnt seem like you know what damygurl is talking about (no offense abeg). she asked for the full version because nothing from fayola suggests that it means walking with honour, especially since 'ola' means 'noble family'. another reason is because, yoruba names usually have prefixes and to get a full meaning of the name you need to know what prefix, like 'funmi' for instance could be adefunmilayo, oluwafunmilayo, babafunmilayo, so they basically mean someone gave me joy but who? is it the crown, God, or baba.

i too don't think fayola means walking with honour, esp since u got the meaning from some random website. the full thing  is probably Ifayola, meaning the ifa oracle has issued forth and entered our noble family

bad choice of name if your a xtian, pele

by the way, i got that from my dictionary of yoruba personal names Smiley

Use the name Olusegun for a guy,  it sets the bar pretty high and u couldnt possibly go wrong wit that one,  for a female,  the name Oprah sets your child up for great things. I believe in the power of names,  avoid shaniqua, tocara, jamal, tafari among other "black" names. your child will have a limited chance of competing with the white man in the employment world with that sort of name,  anything english like sandra, linda, charity, bianca, eva, rita or for guys jake, joel, michael, marvin should do the trick.
